Super coffee shop in Brailsford. Well worth driving from Ashbourne for! It’s definitely the best coffee shop in the area. Staff are very friendly and the cakes are all freshly made by Chloe. The gluten free ones are very tasty! The coffee is so nice as well!! Easy parking, all the staff are so welcoming. Very popular every time we have visited - takeaways are also busy here and many people just popping in for a box of cakes! Do not hesitate to visit here :)

A cosy new place. A very beautiful area of rural England. Perfect for a delicious cup of coffee and some tasty pastry. The staff are professional and friendly. Every single detail about the place is pleasing. You will definitely want to come again and again.

We had coffee and cake here as a stop off between Ashbourne and Derby. The cake portions were generous and beautifully presented, and the coffee was delicious. The place was busy and had a happy, bubbly atmosphere, not somewhere to go for a quiet coffee 🙂 but perfect if you like company. Dogs are allowed, and everyone was lovely. The place itself has been thoughtfully and tastefully designed, and there is ample parking. It does sneak up on you on the road into or out of Brailsford, though,so be aware.

Its a shame Google doesn't offer 6 stars as this Bakehouse deserves 6. Attention to detail is what this cafe (Bakehouse & Coffee shop) is all about. I visited the other day during a long hike and was so impressed by the hospitality, the bakery and coffee that I had, that I just had to return two days later to show my wife. Over several decades I have visited many such businesses for a coffee and a snack and this is absolutely one of the best. If you are reading this review with a view to visiting dont look any further, just visit, you will also be impressed. ☆☆☆☆☆☆

Absolutely love this place. Been a few times now and the atmosphere, food and drinks are second to none. There's loads of cafes around but let's be honest there not always great and that's what makes the cornerstone cafe stand out to me and dogs are welcome! What more can you ask! It's clean and tidy, they provide games for kids for books for someone who just wants to have a chilled day there and the home made cakes are next level! Their prices on the food are also fantastic. Anyway stop reading this review and get yourself there and fill your guts!

My favourite place to eat in Ashbourne! The small plates menu is great, with loads of variety and every dish looks amazing. And the cakes are all fantastic, often with edible flowers so they’re very special. And is such a great spot to watch the world go by. The staff couldn’t be more welcoming.

Lovely cream tea for lunch with a cuppa tea. Friendly service. In July 2025 they are temporarily moving next door into Ashbourne Methodist Church whilst their own building is being renovated.... so, this too would be interesting for another visit.

The best cafe in town, I cycled the monsal and Tissington trails to get here and was greeted by an outstanding Kofta and Halloumi flatbread. Ambience and quality was spot on. Thank you!

Amazing find. Lovely eclectic cafe with comfortable seating including an outside area (if it looks full it's still worth asking since they have a lot of seating back from the window). Good selection of items on the menus incl breakfast, wraps, panini's so lot to choose from. We had the full monty breakfast and it was huge! Tea came in a pot with hot water and proper cups and saucers which is a lovely touch.

Great decor, quirky fittings, some great photos and posters. Did not eat, so cannot comment on the food. Bubbly bar girls. Good view of passing world outside. Nice Hells Lager, but for some reason it took 10 minutes to serve 2 pints to our table, with no other customers..

Really lovely lunch on the terrace today which would have been 5* if the staff were able to drinks orders and payment at the table rather than having to leave food to go cold and go in to order and pay! But, yes, lovely fresh food, tasty menu, great outdoor space and pleasent staff. Thank you!

Beaumonts of Ashbourne. Straight away, you feel welcome. Staff was very friendly and the new member of the staff was brilliant. Inside and out are beautiful. Lots to choose from A fabulous full English breakfast To Naughty, stunning yummy cakes 🎂 I have to say the sausages are amazing and I can honestly say they are lovely very meaty. I really couldn't fault the food at all. I had water to drink as I don't normally drink anything else apart from an early morning coffee. Again very friendly and was happy serving just water as a drink. People may ask why I mention this as some places are funny about serving water. It came as a surprise to be offered to sit outside or in. From the front door it looks small but once inside, it's stunning. I will return and definitely somewhere I'd be happy to take my friends and family. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 Thank you Emma

Really friendly staff.the place is spotless. Love the fact you can change items on the breakfast without any problems the breakfast was very nice but letdown by cheap sausages, parking limited for trucks

Clean, friendly staff and cheap. Had a lovely breakfast roll which was served very quickly. There's also customer toilets available which is great. There are some parking spaces in front of the cafe though they may be limited when it's busy.

This cafe has been serving the Airfield Industrial Estate for a good few years the food is well cooked and affordable and the cafe is clean and tidy with very nice staff

Really enjoyed my breakfast here! Friendly staff and clean environment! Brought my food to the table with a smile and it was delicious! Been twice now but if I'm back in the area for work again I'll defently be returning. Also the food was alot cheaper than I thought it would be comparing it to other places I've visited. Bonus! 🤗

My wife and I had a lovely lunch at The Little Shed during a holiday to the Peak District. We shared the ploughman’s platter, which was very generous and beautifully presented. Everything on the board was yummy, especially the Black Bomber cheese, pork pie and chutney. The soft drinks were also very nice, and service was efficient. Highly recommended.

Stopped here to grab some breakfast and it was a lovely experience. The cafe was well decorated and cozy. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Good selection of breakfast options from various toasts to waffles. The coffee was top notch as well and the food tasted as good as it looks. Would recommend trying the waffles with bacon. Will definitely visit again when possible. Free street parking available up to an hour.

We booked an afternoon tea here and really enjoyed it. The staff were very attentive, thoughtful and friendly. We were asked about dietary requirements on booking in advance on the phone and the staff were already up to speed having read the booking notes on our arrival, immediately running though the menu highlighting what was suitable for a member of our party (ordering off the main menu) who had a nut allergy. Dog's are not allowed inside but are welcome outside. The afternoon tea was delicious with a good selection of sandwiches and cakes. We ended up taking a few of the cakes home!

We called in today for brunch and had the most tasty toasties (we choose the 3 cheeses one and the cajun chicken, both were great). We also had the berries waffle and the Walnut cake. So so good. Really recommend this place if you are in the area

Lovely cafe, visited whilst in the area for my Hen party. Had booked a table for 6, order at the counter and food and drinks came very quickly. Recommend the mango and passion fruit pancakes. Food presented very well and I think the prices are fair.

Exceptional experience. This was our first ever visit with our 4 legged friend and the welcome could not have been any more warmer. The servers were chatty, polite and ready to explain anything and everything about their menu. I had my first taste of a rice crispie chicken burger and all I can say is wow! You must try to appreciate it. Hot chocolate and coffee we would go as far the say the BEST in Derbyshire. We can’t wait to return.

Really nice breakfast spot with a great selection on the menu. The decor and ambiance is also really nice and works perfectly. The dishes are nicely presented and the drinks and coffee options are also good. I had the eggs benedict but would have preferred the eggs to be slightly more cooked as the whites were a little runny but still edible (poached eggs aren't the easiest) and I think a tad more bacon too as it was quite slim. Others in my group had a full English and the bacon and chicken pancakes which they enjoyed. We also tried the special brew of coffees which was a nice experience. Overall really good place and would consider revisiting if in the area.

Treated my husband to a birthday lunch here today. We were greeted by a lovely member of staff who directed us to the cafe upstairs. The seating area is bigger than expected, with beautiful works of art all around. The menu is great. My husband had the avocado on toast with poached eggs and he added on bacon - he really enjoyed it. I had probably the best salad I've ever eaten! It had figs, goats cheese, crushed hazelnuts, quinoa, sweet drop peppers, a delicious dressing and I paid a little extra for Serrano ham too - I'd definitely recommend it. The lady serving us was polite and non intrusive; giving us plenty of time to decide what we'd like to order. We will most certainly be back again and I can see this being somewhere we visit regularly now we know about it...a hidden gem!

Visually striking place, full of art, light airy feel with great views. We approached the counter each time we needed something rather than staff coming to our table. Although a gentleman (owner?) Talked to us. Not busy on our visit. It's a nice atmosphere, staff seem happy and relaxed, however I felt a little like I was intruding into a family home! Staff personal effects on a table where customers have to pass is wide open to theft (A handbag and a laptop)! I had a lady stand next to me whilst I was eating, making me feel uncomfortable. (Staff family member) Our meal was really nice, bottomless tea is fabulous. Sadly, the cake was quite dry. On street parking for blue badge holders. Not sure if there is a lift for wheelchair users? Nice small bakery/deli close to the centre of Ashbourne. We enjoyed the baked goods so much that we went twice! The first time we had a cappuccino cake and a rum truffle. The second time we had a rocky road and viennese whirl. The shop has a nice selection of products and the service was good the both times we went. We are looking forward to going again when we are next in Ashbourne.

Perfect lunch after a walk in the peaks. Deli sandwiches are ENORMOUS and more importantly very tasty. Amazing variety and value for money.

Went into Ashbourne to find somewhere for lunch. We walked past Cheddar Gorge and were instantly drawn in! Everything you could want in a deli! Huge selection of different cheeses, sauces, relish, homemade pastries and a plethora of cakes! My husband went for the New York Deli sandwich and was blown away. Pastrami, sauerkraut, gherkins, rocket and soft bread. Photo doesn’t do it justice as he wanted to delve in straight away. We will definitely return the next time we’re in Ashbourne!

Lovely people! A warm welcome, great atmosphere, and delicious food. Thoughtful in catering for dietary requirements, with a good choice of dishes. Everything arrived beautifully presented, well cooked, and clearly freshly prepared. We were a large group and they did a fantastic job. Very reasonable prices as well. 100% recommend.

What a delightful find. Gorgeous tapas beautifully cooked and the nicest staff we've encountered for some time. Nothing was too much trouble, even though we had a five-month-old baby with us. Will be going back very soon. Highly recommended.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm, relaxed atmosphere and the unmistakable aroma of authentic Spanish cooking. Every dish we tried was packed with flavor and clearly made with love and care. The service was just as impressive—friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food they’re serving. They were more than happy to help me practice my Spanish! Perfect family atmosphere and now our new favourite restaurant!!

Having seen others' reviews, when we went to Ashbourne, we headed to Friends. Full English with fried bread (yes, fried bread!) for me and poached eggs on muffins for her. Couldn't eat all my Full English (even after passing over my hash browns to her) it was so big. Nice coffees too. Oh yes, and the mushrooms were proper fried portobellos. Very pleased we visited! Picture of menu included, but blackboard on wall showed loads of other nice stuff on offer.
