Best Sunday roast I've had in a long time. Very tasty, served quickly by friendly staff. Quality cooking, lovely gravy. Cheesecake trio slightly disappointing.

Food was decent. Apple tart for desert was a disappointment. Very soggy. And the poor waitress, bless her, hadn’t a clue and got everything wrong. But then did a good job of walking about with her head down avoiding eye contact. Hate that in a restaurant. Restaurant was far too dark. But overall not bad.

Really nice pub. Looks excellent. Was in a Sunday and it was very busy and the food coming out looked excellent. We just had a few starters but each was excellent. Sat outside which is a nice beer garden. Comfortable. Decent amount of space. Lots of parking but still gets quite full.

Was greeted by Justin with a smile, he was so polite and friendly. Served us and was lovely and chatty, can’t recommend the food enough, we had the salt and pepper squid to start which was delicious and followed that with the buttermilk chicken burgers which were so light and crispy. The sauce was amazing! Justin came back to check on how we were doing and was lovely. Can’t recommend enough, visiting the area for a few days and will definitely be coming back

Beautiful place to visit. Clean with super warm, friendly staff. Good food and drinks to offer. There is a very cosy 'pub' on the back that serves food as well. So there are different types of food choices, good for families too. Been few times with my family and will definitely go back over and over.

Had a wedding tour and night stay with dinner and breakfast. Amazing room, room 200 - big comfy bed, fantastic food, clean in all areas. Love the little touches such as hot chocolate in the room as well as coffee and tea. Lovely food both in the main restaurant and for breakfast. Staff could not do enough for you, very welcoming and friendly. Will def recommend and come and stay again.

It’s a great place, this. Much quieter and more reasonable than staying in Leeds City Centre and just about a tenner in a cab to town and back. Free parking is also a big bonus and will easily save you the cost of the cab ride. Great breakfast and lovely staff. Spot on for a night away in the great metropolis of Leeds!

When we arrived Dom and Evan couldn’t have been more welcoming and hospitable. They are made for this industry and were so helpful in bending over backwards to make sure we were comfortable and oriented. Their friendly manner and excellent customer service made our stay. The hotel is clean and very comfortable. I would recommend anyone who needs to stay in the area to choose it. Even the night staff were fantastic.

Hickory's Smokehouse Adel

Otley Rd, Adel, Leeds LS16 7PH, UK | Barbecue Restaurant
P: 0113 831 2180

Rating: 4.4 (339) Price Level:

Our second visit to Hickory’s in Adel and it didn’t disappoint. We’d booked for 19:30 on Friday evening to celebrate 2 birthdays. We were seated promptly in a spacious booth (5 of us) and although nobody came to take drinks orders for 20 mins, we could see they were extremely busy. Staff were lovely and friendly - cocktails and IPA beer selection excellent and all our drinks arrived within minutes of placing the order as well as their tasty popcorn. Ordered some burgers, a BBQ sharing platter (with extra onion rings) and my wife had the chicken cobb salad. Portions were generous and the brisket, pulled pork, sausage ribs, wings and sides were all outstanding. The triple Oklahoma burger was also exceptional. We didn’t have room for dessert this time although they looked great on the menu. There’s a great atmosphere in the place and a very welcoming vibe. It’s a huge building with many tables and yet the kitchen was able to get food out to a really good standard within 20 minutes of placing the order so all credit to the team. I was actually surprised at just how little the bill was as I was honestly expecting much more. For the 5 of us it came to around £170 which for the quality and quantity of the food, all served in a great environment by happy staff and easy parking outside was excellent value. We’re looking forward to our next visit.

Hickories was recommended to us by a friend Olivia to have a meal for our 41st wedding anniversary, she had been there on a few occasions and had been really impressed by everything, especially the food . We had never been before but we were amazed at how helpful, kind and welcoming the staff were with us The food was amazing and well presented if anything portions were really generous, so we didn't leave hungry Hickories was once the lawnswood arms and it has been refurbished to a very good standard. We were really impressed We would absolutely recommend a visit to this newly refurbished restaurant with fantastic staff, food and atmosphere

We went just before Christmas for a family meal. The service was swift, from good members of staff. Popcorn was brought out with our drinks whilst we made our meal selections . The food was really tasty and good portions not a five star as not quite hot enough. The restaurant is clean and the interior is designed well with plenty of seating options. The toilets are clean, and fully equipped for everyone's needs, disabled and baby changing facilities. Loads of parking and there is an outdoor play area. There is a small cinema area for children whilst they wait for their meals. We will definitely return.

Went for a date night with my partner; staff were friendly, polite, and very accommodating to my allergies. Food was delicious, I had the smokehouse rump steak and my partner had the smokehouse platter for one, which they enjoyed; but be advised the coleslaw and pickled onions have jalapenos. We shared the Cajun onion rings which were delicious and crunchy, also served hanging so any excess oil drips off and prevented them from going soggy 👍 I had the chocolate fudge cake for dessert, which was absolutely delicious but very sweet so would recommend maybe either sharing or having something like a small milkshake/glass of milk to help cut the sweetness (unless you have an extreme sweet tooth 😅). Only downside was where we were sat was dimmly lit, so it did make it a bit hard to read the menu(s) properly (I had to use the torch on my phone 😅) and it is slightly on the expensive side for what we got; but all in all, very nice place, happy with the food and service, and would go again

The White Swan, Yeadon

High St, Yeadon, Leeds LS19 7TA, UK | Pub
P: 0113 345 1383

Rating: 4.4 (788) Price Level:

We went for Sunday Lunch 3 adults 2 children. They staff are amazing. So helpful. The food is so fresh & hot. 2 adults had chicken with stuffing wrapped in bacon. 2 large pieces each. Cane with Roast carrot roast parsnip 4 large roast potatoes and a mix of cabbage carrot green beans & courgettes. A very large Yorkshire Pudding. Lots of gravy. We ordered a side of Cauliflower cheese. There was so much we took over half of this home. 1 adult got the same but roast beef. He said it was the best he had had in years. The kids had chicken nuggets chips and beans but both requested a Yorkshire Pudding and pigs in blankets. Again we ended up taking some home. They kids had chocolate cake & ice cream for deserts. With drinks about £90. Cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you. Lesley

We ended up at this pub as we were staying locally due to a flight from the airport the next morning. The other pub up the road was terrible, so we quickly found this one - what a difference! Great beers, great service, nice atmosphere, friendly staff. We'll be back next time we're in the area - many thanks!

Great place, we were shown to a table straight away even though we didn’t book. Didn’t have to wait long in-between courses. This was my second visit here and the food did not disappoint. A little gem on the outskirts of Leeds. Our waitress Grace was very accommodating, helpful and polite. Grace looked after us and she seems to have really settled into her role. On our first visit she had just started and wax in training.

Lovely restaurant with parking outside and outdoor seating. Ordered 2x pizza bread for starters and lovely sweet tomato sauce and fresh slices of garlic. Mains ordered the burger which was really good with fries. Loved the burger sauce and the mustard sauce offered.. Chicken, fries and peas on the kids menu. Pepperoni pizza 🍕 and lasagna. Not sold on the 3 meat lasagna.. I thought it lacked the tomato sauce and made it a tad dry but that’s only my opinion.. don’t mess with classic recipes. Add 3x glasses of wine. 2x white and 1x red with 1x pint of lager and 2x pints of Pepsi. Total cost = £135 Overall 4* recommend.

Lots of seating, tables, dogs allowed in outside areas on lead but not in cafe. Thought a bit pricey given size of cakes etc but like everything no bargains or they'd all be snapped up. Good choice of hot/cold drinks and food including vegetarian. We had a robin join us in the sheltered section!

Lovely little cafe to sit and have lunch in after strolling around the park. They have baby changing facilities, too (if you need 'em). I had the hot dog with chilli & cheese and proper loved it. My wife had the bacon, brie & cranberry panini and also loved it. There's free parking just the other side of Otley Road with a pedestrian underpass. And the park itself is beautiful, as well.

Golden acre is a beautiful park, albeit with some dodgy parking. But the tea room is gorgeous, sit on the terrace if the weather permits or inside the conservatory style tea rooms. Sandwiches are great, good bread and fresh ingredients and accompanying salad. The coffee was good however the flat white was not as strong as my personal taste would prefer. I have not tried the breakfast menu as it stops at 11 or 11:30 and I've only arrived just after. 5 stars if this was good and served all day.

Stunning fish and chips, cooked in Beef dripping, which makes everything sooooo tasty. The food is all on the pricey side however you have to pay for quality. There is a little bench so you can sit outside if the weather is ok, to consume the nomness immediately! This was my second visit and I had waited a whole year to return. Thank you Popsies for keeping the Beef Dripping tradition alive 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👌🏻

Excellent local fish and chips, expertly prepared and cooked in traditional dripping. Fish suppers cooked in vegetable oils do not digest as well as those cooked in dripping and so tend to upset the digestive system for several hours. If this is your problem with fish and chips, I suggest you try out this great little chippy.

First time visit. Fish cooked to order so leave time for that.. about 10 mins in my case. Defo tasty fish and lovely fat "juicy" chips, the way I like 'em. Small location but none the worse for that and the bonus is you see the fish fillet from cooler box to deep fat fryer to wrapping (and finally to stomach) ! Highly recommended.

The Fox And Hounds

Tinshill Rd, Leeds LS16 7BT, UK | Pub
P: 0113 267 8415

Rating: 4.3 (861) Price Level:

Really lovely and cozy atmosphere (has a real fire) and good selection of drink options. But the food is absolutely abysmal. The steak sandwich wasn't a sandwich. More like a slice of toast with steak on top. And the steak! It was so tough I almost choked. It was actually inedible. I don't normally complain but this time I had to and asked for it to be removed from our bill. The rest of the food wasn't great but we didn't want to be unreasonable. The person on the bar seemed really cross with me, as if they cooked it. Very disappointing as everything else was fine. Just the food was really bad.

The food was homemade and we enjoyed it a lot. A little pricy but it was worth it. The place was a little drafty and we would have loved it if the stove was on. Although we booked in advance for 5 peeople and dog, it appeared there had been a mistake in the booking and no table in the dog friendly area reserved. However, the staff were very friendly and sorted out a table for us all. Great service and staff and food. Note dog friendly bar/eating area is small and dogs seemed to not be allowed in main bar areas.

A really nice pub with a good selection of vegan food. I had the cauliflower wing salad which was huge and tasted amazing. Finished off with a vegan Bakewell tart and ice cream. Both were tasty and the value was amazing. The menu has lots of other things on it for vegans. Highly recommend if you’re in the area. The carvery isn’t as vegan friendly, you’d be eating toast vegetables and potatoes only but great for vegetarians.
