The Best Golf Courses in Halifax, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom (2025)

I played here today with a view to joining for me and my lad. I was told before hand that the greens had been ninja tined by the lady in the shop I already knew, but it’s lovely that they cared to inform me. There was young member looked to be playing on his own so I asked if he fancied a game and politely joined me which was great, he guided me around and told me about the club. Overall very friendly welcome, practice area and range looked great. Course was in super condition, I’m super picky and I couldn’t find anything to complain about, greens are receptive but not soft or spongy, around the greens was as you’d expect, revetted bunkers were hard but looked absolutely mint with the turf layering. Tee boxes were all flat and tidy with tee bins and divot mix. The course was quiet although there were people playing I didn’t see much of anyone, we played a good pace around 4hrs no one chasing us down and no one playing slow infront. And the weather was superb. I would highly recommend also I received a very good price with a county card.

Lovely golf course some tricky holes, kept in immaculate condition looks really nice, The greens have plenty of slope and are smooth and fast. As slick as you'll find at 3 times the price.

We all had an excellent day and are hopefully playing our Seniors competition here next year 🤞. Everything was spot on from our bacon sandwich and tea and coffee on arrival. The condition of all the course, tees, fairways and greens. The friendly service from the staff. The foid afterwards was excellent The thing we struggle with most was getting to grips with the difficulties of the greens 😫. They were in excellent condition but very challenging 😅. Great course. Some interesting holes. Green keepers constantly working on the course. But being respectful towards golfers. Played twice now and wilI return. Excellent value for money.

Not played the course yet but looking forward to playing it but the staff are excellent I go to the driving range to practice but staff are so kind and driving range is like brand new

My first ever visit to this place in all the time I have lived in brighouse & my it didn’t disappoint the room that we were having are meal in plus entertainment was very open with stunning views of Yorkshire s finest greenery . We arrived a bit early but had a loverly chap called Richard have a chat to myself plus my parents explaining the history of the golf club which was a brilliant insight to the evening before we sat down to have are 3 course meal . The food to my taste was amazing it was just cooked right from starters to desert the staff were very warm n helpful to every in the room it s a very unique experience to have a golf club in the centre of a town or just not far from the main area but this place from the large car park great facilities plus very interesting history I would highly recommend plus I am not a golf fan but we also got a cracking view of the fair way with the green just yards away which was just so beautiful . I hope to call back next year or before thank you for the club’s professionalism plus high standards

This is a great golf course. The professional, Paul, is a great teacher and is well worth a few half hour lessons. The 19th hole is not bad either!!

Fantastic layout in great condition. There are lots of interesting holes that provide a good challenge for all levels of golfers. The greens were best the best we have played this year and we have been to some prestigious courses. It is also set within the grounds of a nature reserve with great views on many holes. Great practice facilities to warm up including a covered driving range and the halfway house was open on Wednesday when we played. Great value at £40 for a top quality round of golf.

This is has been my home club for the last 12 yrs or so. Fantastic golf course. Even through this dry spell the greens are some of the best in this area. Friendly staff always makes you feel welcomed to the club Come & try yourself out against the course. You'll love it😃🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♀️⛳

Such a lovely afternoon.

Very tricky to get to, as ,its narrow country lanes . I went through the day & the views are spectacular.Dont think I'd like to go in the dark ! I went to a child's 1st birthday . The place itself is lovely & the buffet was delicious. The staff are very friendly & attentive. I ordered a Slimline tonic , priced at £2.50 , I thought was a bit steep! I thought Golf clubs were subsidised...yikes..Needless to say , I only had the one drink.

What an amazing wedding we had at Headley! The venue looked stunning, the food was delicious and the service was impeccable. Richard and all the team were fabulous and went above and beyond to make sure our day was as special as possible. It exceeded all our expectations. A massive thanks to all for an unforgettable day!

Went for our works christmas do. The place was decorated lovely, the drinks weren't the cheapest but this is to be expected at this type of establishment. The food was delicious I would go back again.

Been coming here for years. The course is in okay condition in winter, better in the summer and the greens are in great condition all year round. For the money you could spend twice as much and be happy. Golf shop is always stocked up, staff are friendly, and they pros give great lessons.

Played here last week and I have to say what an amazing course! The condition is amazing, greens were well manicured as well as the fairways. Well designed course, a good challenge with some inviting driving holes. Hard to believe this is a municipal course. Members were friendly, I would totally recommend this course.

This is one of the Gems of Golf that should not be overlooked, we worshiped the place - Driving Range, 9 holes for learners but it is a great challenge and a fabulous 18 hole parkland course and on top of all that great club house and well stocked pro-shop. We moved to the coast many years ago and this is the one course I miss the most,apart from Ogden Golf Club Halifax.... Derek

Such a fantastic place to play. The course is a challenge, booking is effortless, food and drink/bar is just what is wanted after a round. Above all the people are amiable and can't do enough for you.

Fantastic track in excellent condition. Met a dozen new friends in the car park who invited me into their Monday roll up. The warmest welcome ever. May go back for another round Wednesday! Great club with friendly members.

My first ever golf lesson was BRILLIANT! Darren left no stone unturned when helping to improve my golf swing. Within just a couple of swings Darren was able to point out the main reason for my consistent fade of the ball. Over the next hour using video analysis and his own visual observations he explained scientifically how I could achieve my desired results. I must add that at no time did I feel that there was information overload as he checked my understanding at every step of the way and pitched the information at a level that he knew I could understand. I am very much looking forward to transferring my knowledge and confidence to the course this week. I will be touching base with Darren again soon as he is very approachable and keen to help me on my golf journey. Thanks Darren ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very nice bar, staff were excellent!

Our group had a lovely day here. The course was in excellent condition. I was happy to sink a few good puts as the greens where very good. The food we had before and after the game was also excellent. The staff where helpful and pleasant. Clubhouse and facilities are also top class.

Played here several times with a member. Tremendous value and top condition. Catering staff first class and really added to the experience. Recommend this place highly.

You forgot how long the drive is uo to this golf club but it has some amazing views and wildlife

In the context of the weather this year, the greens are so good, almost like velvet. The rough this year has grown so heavily the staff should be commended for their efforts in keeping it under control. Richard Brooker. Member

First time at Huddersfield Golf Club and was really impressed. Course built within the grounds of Fixby Hall, which doubles as clubhouse and events venue. Elevation changes on every hole makes it pretty dramatic. Views of Huddersfield and surrounding area when you get onto the 11th tee. Course had been closed previous day due to rain, but there was no evidence of that apart from the greens were running a little slow. Some monster par 4s, including the 1st at 465 yards off the yellows tees. Plenty of bunkering and undulating greens make it a real, but enjoyable challenge.

Truly is God's country, if he was making a golf course, he made this, wow, tough course, make sure you know where you go, amazing course with amazing scenery - the Par 3 17th - wow

Very very good. Course layout is fun but fair, greens were true and the course condition was immaculate. At £31 it’s possibly the best value round of golf I’ve ever had. Superb, will be back!

Booked an Afternoon Tea party for my mum's 90th Birthday, it was lovely. The food was delicious and so beautifully presented on pretty vintage china. We were made to feel so welcome and looked after so well. Mum was really happy. Shout out to Trysha, the catering staff and bar staff. Would highly recommend this venue to all.

Fab Sunday dinner, roast lamb was perfect. Fresh fruit meringue nest was tasty. Lovely bar staff and kitchen staff, nothing is too much trouble.
