Fantastic layout in great condition. There are lots of interesting holes that provide a good challenge for all levels of golfers. The greens were best the best we have played this year and we have been to some prestigious courses. It is also set within the grounds of a nature reserve with great views on many holes. Great practice facilities to warm up including a covered driving range and the halfway house was open on Wednesday when we played. Great value at ยฃ40 for a top quality round of golf.

This is a fantastic course that is available at a great place for it's quality. I genuinely think it's offering the sort of golf course for a normal price that others around Yorkshire are charging double. It's a great course layout, really enjoyable challenge and nicely set around the lake. It's got a great driving range to warm up on too.

A cracking golf course. Massive greens. Many long par 4's offer up a stiff challenge, but always rewarding. Lovely clubhouse, and tidy pro shop. Made for an excellent MacKenzie double bill with nearby Alwoodley.

Love this course. Some Bunkers need topping up. The greenside bunker on the 14th has a thin covering and the ground is solid underneath. My club bounced off the hard surface yesterday (26th July). Minor stuff really.

I loved this little 9 hole course. It was really good fun especially as a beginner but would imagine itโ€™d be tricky for most players. Iโ€™ll definitely be playing here again.

Superb 12 hole course. Itโ€™s quite a challenging and rather characterful course. It was soggy in some places but it was in better condition than both Wike and Rudding. Iโ€™m actually surprised how well the greens have held up in the winter weโ€™ve just had (2023/24). The tee boxes and fairways were pure, even in March! You can tell itโ€™s well looked after. Iโ€™m looking forward to going back in better weather, itโ€™ll be fantastic!

Beautiful building and grounds. Stayed just the one night, twin room had everything you needed. The beds were comfortable and the views stunning. Lovely cooked breakfast in the morning. Great value for money (Suggestion not a criticism rather than a large jug of milk and 1 large dish of sugar etc, maybe smaller and more for each table at breakfast) Would stay here again, staff all very friendly and efficient

This is my second time here. Slightly disappointed as the pillows are too hard. The tv didnโ€™t work, the bathroom light was flickering and the outside bench from room 5 has been removed. So we couldnโ€™t really sit outside and enjoy the lovey views in the evening. A few tweeks and this could be a lovely affordable stay. The beds are super comfortable. The location is quiet and beautiful. The staff are great.

Ossett Blonde , Wainwrights and a Theakstons I think it was. Beavertown Neckoil on keg. Always enjoy playing here. Some real risk and reward holes. Still havent mastered the greens which have slopes I just cant see๐Ÿ˜‚

Fun and interesting golf course, in a peaceful location and fairly priced. Mature, tree-lined, undulating fairways and interesting shapes all over the course. I've played it a couple of times and would gladly go back.

I've played plenty of golf courses over the years and came back here. Good course, well maintained, true greens, most of the time, very friendly bar and members. The first 6 holes are a challenge so get through those and then enjoy the rest. They have done a lot of work in recent years on drainage so worth considering through the winter when other clubs are unplayable. The day rate guest fees are too low and don't reflect the quality of the course in my opinion.

My first round at this course and very impressed. It's an interesting course with plenty of features and undulations. It's also a course that tempts you to regularly hit a driver off the tee. Thumbs up

Came with my society and really enjoyed it. Course played really well considering the amount of rain we have had. Greens were true and quick! Only negative is there was no catering at the time. Well worth a visit though. Will be bringing the society back in future.

We all had an excellent day and are hopefully playing our Seniors competition here next year ๐Ÿคž. Everything was spot on from our bacon sandwich and tea and coffee on arrival. The condition of all the course, tees, fairways and greens. The friendly service from the staff. The foid afterwards was excellent The thing we struggle with most was getting to grips with the difficulties of the greens ๐Ÿ˜ซ. They were in excellent condition but very challenging ๐Ÿ˜…. Lovely day thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š

I played here today with a view to joining for me and my lad. I was told before hand that the greens had been ninja tined by the lady in the shop I already knew, but itโ€™s lovely that they cared to inform me. There was young member looked to be playing on his own so I asked if he fancied a game and politely joined me which was great, he guided me around and told me about the club. Overall very friendly welcome, practice area and range looked great. Course was in super condition, Iโ€™m super picky and I couldnโ€™t find anything to complain about, greens are receptive but not soft or spongy, around the greens was as youโ€™d expect, revetted bunkers were hard but looked absolutely mint with the turf layering. Tee boxes were all flat and tidy with tee bins and divot mix. The course was quiet although there were people playing I didnโ€™t see much of anyone, we played a good pace around 4hrs no one chasing us down and no one playing slow infront. And the weather was superb. I would highly recommend also I received a very good price with a county card.

Such a great day out as always. Only played 9 holes all par 4 and 3. The course is such a lovely course with inviting and forgiving fairways. The greens are harder during dryer weather but still slightly challenging in the wet conditions. Pricing is fair too. The staff here are soo friendly and very helpful. And the golf shop here is reasonably priced.

Nice and quiet and ideal for novice or young golfers. Good range of holes (long and short). Can seem a little expensive if doing 18 but can pay for only 9. Cash only is a bit of a challenge though.
