“Lovely parkland golf course. Friendly and well maintained . The clubhouse has just been refurbished and is one of the best I have seen with fabulous, elevated views over the 1st and 18th fairways. Good food, a great selection of drinks and welcoming staff”

“Another enjoyable visit. Managed to get to grips with the greens this time. Read them better than last time anyway. Friendly clubhouse , good food and beer. Ossett Blonde , Wainwrights and a Theakstons I think it was. Beavertown Neckoil on keg. Always enjoy playing here. Some real risk and reward holes. Still havent mastered the greens which have slopes I just cant see😂”

“Tough course when the wind blows but it’s very straight forward and open. You wont lose your ball if you miss the fairways. Greens are true and fast. Could do with more sand in the bunkers though but otherwise course is kept in very good condition. Pro very helpful and friendly. Has a very nice modern clubhouse and outside area.”

“Decent course, testing walk. Course is in pretty good condition. Not particularly challenging for medium/long hitters with a driver not required on any holes. Good variety of par 3s and a couple of drivable par 4s. 2nd/11th and 9th/18th are very severely uphill which will be challenging to walk for unfit/older golfers (we’re talking a good 70m elevation change in one hole. I’m fit and was out of puff by the end). Greens in decent condition, fairly paced for February. Winter tees among the best I’ve played. Can imagine the 5th/14th is a nightmare in-season/on weekends due to walkers/runners/dogs as a public right of way runs the whole length of the hole & across it. Would be a good course for beginners/shorter hitters but it’s a hard walk.”

Village Golf Course Wike

“Superb 12 hole course. It’s quite a challenging and rather characterful course. It was soggy in some places but it was in better condition than both Wike and Rudding. I’m actually surprised how well the greens have held up in the winter we’ve just had (2023/24). The tee boxes and fairways were pure, even in March! You can tell it’s well looked after. I’m looking forward to going back in better weather, it’ll be fantastic!”
Headingley Golf Club

“A course of two halves. The course starts on the old part, with a mature feel, clever routing, and interesting topology. But after 4 or 5 holes you cross the road into a newer field where the routing is straight back and forth, and the feel is much lower quality. It doesn't help as well that it's overshadowed by a huge landfill site with diggers running all day long right up against the course. Eventually back over the road for the last 5 or 6 holes which are very strong again. Headingley pitches itself as a £100 green fee. It's an ok course, but sadly the new holes, and the landfill let it down. There are better options nearby for £100, and for half that.”
