The Friday wine nights are lovely in the summer. Easy to book a table and pre-order food via text. Also very popular in the daytime - can recommend the chai latte.

Where does one start to praise Randall’s Coffee and Wine Bar in Lightwater? We used this gorgeous intimate venue on Saturday night for a 60th birthday celebration. From the outset, nothing was too much trouble for Viv and her team. They managed all the drink and food supply to perfection. Nothing was wasted, replenishing the delicious platters as necessary, covering all the drink requirements from soft, non alcoholic to spirits and hot drinks. A budget was agreed and strictly adhered to. Nobody went without a drink all night. Viv made sure of this discreetly and without any fuss. Upon arrival the venue was beautifully dressed with pretty lights, accessories, music and tables arranged for eating and drinking. The outside area was cordoned off with notices advising a private party and a welcome sign for guests. All our guests gushed about the service, delicious food, lovely staff and venue. It was truly the perfect setting for a lovely informal celebration. An absolute asset to Lightwater village by day for coffee, cakes, etc and evenings as a wine bar. Great choice of wines, beers and other drinks. Fantastic sharing boards and platters catering for everyone i.e. vegetarians and severe allergies and very reasonably priced - delicious. What more can one say except thank you, thank you, thank you. You really made our celebration extra special.

Pinnock's

Pinnocks, High St, Ripley, Woking GU23 6AF, UK | Coffee Shop
P: 01483 222419

Rating: 4.7 (778) Price Level:

Fantastic place for cyclists to stop for a cup of coffee and a snack, or a full on brunch. Plenty of seats outside and 2 floors inside. There is a place to park bikes outside, too! Plenty of room all in all and no need to book in advance. Wide selection of cakes, pastries, scones and sandwiches, salads, what have you. Absolutely everything was delicious, and I loved your porridge. Thanks a lot, will definitely be back!

What an incredible, yet somewhat accidental find! Pinnocks is the most wonderful little cafe in the heart of Ripley. I wanted only to find a quick cup of coffee but what I found was an exquisite beamed ceiling and slate tiled floor, lovely farmhouse tables, a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Beautiful foods, perfect for a light lunch. There’s the gentle hum of conversation, a fresh produce delivery brought through… and what I was offered was not just a cup of coffee…At risk of sounding like a line from Rowan Atkinson in Love Actually…. This is SO much more than a cup of coffee! There are 7 different beans to choose from depending on your ‘roast’ preference. I chose Ethiopian and received a mug… Normally I prefer a cup, (because I’m a fan of delicate drinking!) but this wasn’t a chunky hunk of china. It was plastic and yet it didn’t detract from the coffee taste at all. Absolutely delicious! I cannot think of a better place to escape from the rain and enjoy an hour or so…I might be coming back for tea…

In my opinion one of the most underrated places to get a coffee in Surrey. The head barista really knows his coffee and they have a great selection of cakes. I asked for an espresso but was told it would be more like an aeropress/drip style. I was happy with that as I have one at home. I was recommended strength 6 and have to say it was very tasty. For cake, I had the white chocolate, pistachio loaf which again, was very nice. Service was friendly, fast and informative. Can’t ask for much more. Highly recommend.

Lovely food and coffee in a beautiful old building. Upstairs there are sofas. Be aware that the staircase is a bit steep and there are low beams. We have been here a few times and I would recommend their pancakes. The atmosphere is great however if you go in the winter, make sure you wrap up warm as it is a very old building and the heating isn’t great. In the summer, they do also have a bit of outdoor space. I would definitely recommend.

We're visiting for 10 days and this became our go-to place for breakfast! Although they have full menu items you can order all day, not just breakfast. Vicki (not sure of spelling) is absolutely the best server. Always so welcoming and helpful. She is a big reason we returned everyday as well. The food is fantastic, piping hot when it comes out and the orders are always right. We will miss this place when we leave England!

Review 2: Absolutely love an recharge break at Bem. The music is awesome. The staff are so friendly. And the coffee is literally my favourite coffee place. I love how they make so many seasonal coffees. It's awesome. Review 1: Menu is limited. But what is made is oh, so scrumptious. The chicken mayo with extra avo bagel being one of my favourites. The staff are always friendly and kind. The atmosphere is always relaxed and fun. A place for couples, friends, and families of all ages.

I stopped by Bem Coffee recently, and it was an absolute gem of a cafe! I ordered a double espresso and a cappuccino. And both are exceptional. The double espresso was perfectly brewed- rich, bold, and smooth, with just the right amount of intensity to kickstart my day. The cappuccino was equally impressive! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and staff were warm, friendly, and attentive. I will definitely be returning whenever I’m in the area. Highly recommend!

P: 01483 489899

Rating: 4.3 (154) Price Level:

I would ignore the reviews about the lady who runs it being rude. We go in regularly and she is absolutely fine. Just because she doesn’t do the English/American big friendly smile it doesn’t mean she’s unpleasant. She’s just busy and doesn't feel the need for over ingratiating. The food is excellent. The bread is delicious and always have an excellent bacon or sausage sandwich. Cappuccino/lattes also great.

Excellent (and very hot) flat white with a generously-filled 'breakfast roll' made for a particularly good breakfast. Wi-Fi decent, free car parking just outside and friendly service make this a great place to go. A little background music wouldn't go amiss though to create an atmosphere as it was just eerie silence most of the time!

The Nags Head in Woking is an absolute gem! My family and I recently visited, and from the moment we stepped in, we were treated to exceptional hospitality. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. What truly set this pub apart was how the team went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic experience. Whether it was their attentive service, thoughtful recommendations, or simply the friendly atmosphere they created, every detail was perfect. The food and drinks were outstanding, adding to the overall wonderful experience. The Nags Head is more than just a pub—it's a place where you can relax, enjoy great company, and be treated like family. We left with smiles on our faces and memories to cherish. Thank you to everyone at The Nags Head for making our visit so special. We'll definitely be back!

Visited the Nags Head for the first time today. It was very quiet possibly because it was a Monday. We have visited other pubs within the Premium Country Pub Collection but this was our first time here. The food was superb. We both had the rare surf and turf (cooked perfectly) and shared a Brownie and Ice Cream for dessert. The new Loyalty App offering 50% off mains in January, made it fantastic value! Top marks to Teddy, our friendly, efficient and very attentive waiter. And most impressive of all: Teddy is the only person, so far, who knows how to process the discount QR/Reward codes. Other pubs in the group have managed, but it was never straightforward!

Never had a bad meal, food is always quality and delicious, prices are more than reasonable and the portions are very generous. It’s the cosiest place to be in the winter and the beer garden is exactly where you want to be in the summer. Quiz nights are great fun too! Cannot recommend highly enough!

Had lunch a couple of weeks ago , I had sausage and mash with onion gravy which was a nice standard pub meal , very generous portion. Unfortunately my husband wasn’t happy with his gammon egg and chips but this was a personal preference as the gammon is cooked with a heavy portion of cloves , which he doesn’t like the taste of so he could eat his , however , it was a lovey portion of fresh cooked ham , nice runny eggs and chips. The waitress took on his concern and was very nice . Only comment is too much veggie options and not enough meat or fish .

There were 14 of us and the owners very kindly reserved us a whole area of the pub which was like having our own private function room. The staff were so friendly and really welcoming and as for the food- it was brilliant! Great pub grub, huge portions and simply amazing value for for money. It’s dog friendly too so we loved meeting Chase and all of the other lovely doggies there today. We will definitely return and would highly recommend you give it a try. We had a great night, last night for our car club Christmas meal. Tracy and her team were brilliant and very helpful. Food portions were very generous The only reason they only got 4 stars for the food was that it was not as hot as it could have been, that said, no-one complained or mentioned it to the staff on the night and all 15 meals were served without delay or anyone waiting. Certainly recommended.
