Amazing Food, Land Lady is a legend and people in this village are amazing. My favourite pub in the Derbyshire area 💙✌🏾

Great pub. Friendly and gracious person behind the bar. Good selection of beers and choices of wines. I wasn’t eating but plenty of veggie options. Quiet (no TV or music) which is a plus in my book. Highly recommended.

An undiscovered gem of a pub in a village often overlooked. Very reasonable priced food and beer. £3.80 for a pint is like 2020 prices. Food looked nice but didn't have any. Will return for a stop off on the circular walk through Deepdale. Lots of locals making interesting conversation. Dog friendly. People friendly. Parking at back I think and benches at the front.

What a hidden gem! A local freehouse pub in a small village, Sheldon, 2 or 3 miles from Bakewell. I am a wheelchair user and access into the pub involved negotiating a very small step to the front entrance and through the generous front door. Level access inside to the bar and seating areas. Real ales and decent wine. Timothy Taylor Landlord was very well kept. We visited twice for dinner and drinks during our recent stay at Manor House Farm Cottages. Good value, well presented, pub food, with a broad menu and specials. Loved the gammon and chips (with egg AND pineapple!). Very friendly landlady and bar staff. I didn’t need the loo, but the landlady was happy for me to use the ladies - not accessible, but a single, spacious room! Parking in the street.

This is a lovely old fashioned proper pub. Home cooked food tasty, beer is alright but could warrant a guest beer, lady served a bit sour… but the pub is lovely, the clientele really pleasant. I like it. Village lovely, nearby Magpie mine great for exploring.
