I’m an independent carer and care for a lady with dementia. On this day my lady wouldn’t come out of the car, I popped in and asked if they offered take away - without hesitation the lady was very accommodating and told me what she would be able to do for me. They were very quick! Very friendly! I’ll definitely be back here to try some warmer meals. Special menu had lots of offer and the food I was seeing be served looked delicious! I look forward to returning. Inside, the cafe had a very cosy feeling. What a lovely place to stumble across! They even gave us some wooden trays to take with us to eat on and offered to help me to the car! The baguettes and salad we had tasted so fresh and was very lovely! Thank you very much. I can’t recommend this place enough!

My mum, dad and myself had been here on a previous trip to Ashbourne, but only had a cappuccino with the time getting on, and we found it to be a lovely place. So this time, on a solo trip, I decided to stop by for breakfast, which came with two sausages, bacon, baked beans, mushroom, a tomato, black pudding, hash browns, fried bread and white or brown toast. Thankfully, it wasn't too crowded inside and I was able to choose a table at the bottom, nearest the counter, as these are great for solo customers or a party of two. Had a look through the menu, and chose the regular breakfast with granary toast and a cappuccino for the drink. Super cosy place with awesome chairs and tables (going for the marbled look, complimenting the black and white chairs very well!) It was clean and I noticed, by the side, there was a glass jar of dog treats and some blankets, so I think well-behaved dogs are allowed. The lady who served me, as well as the other ladies, were super pleasant and very friendly. Food came out and was presented nicely on the plate, everything hot and cooked to perfection! The fried egg was fabulous and runny, the sausages well-seasoned (proper ones too, not like some you get elsewhere). The hash browns were nice and crispy, not soggy at all! Very filling and certainly set me up for the day. I think the breakfast and cappuccino came to about £16 altogether, which I don't think is bad at all, considering everything was fresh. Would have no hesitation coming back in the future, and would HIGHLY recommend! Many thanks to the staff at Café Impromptu!

Had a lovely experience yesterday! Very family friendly (we had a pram, and they put out a baby change for us). The service was very good. The little finishing touches of bringing cutlery on a plate and sauce on a little side plate, too, made it a more pleasant experience. Food is an amazing value for money! Also full for the entirety of our time there, which I feel speaks volumes!

Very nice cafe, friendly staffs and yummy food with reasonable price. They sell home made cakes and pastry.

Had breakfast with a friend as a catch up. The full English was so tasty and a large portion. The pork sausage was one of the best I've tasted. The only negative point of the breakfast was the scrambled egg - over done and rubbery, but the rest of the breakfast was so good. Flat white was good too. Would definitely be back again (hopefully better eggs next time)

Stopped in to Castleton on our way back from Mam Tor, and found this lovely little spot for lunch. Great menu, very friendly and polite staff and just the perfect place to grab a quick bite to eat and a much needed refuel! Coffees were hot (none of this lukewarm, pretty foam art nonsense thankfully!) and very good beans, baguettes were huge and stuffed with filling, and the hand cut, home made chips were exceptional! Definitely give this place a try if you're heading through or staying in Castleton

We actually came with zero expectations, just because we were super tired from the trails and wanted to eat somewhere. We both got the Asian burger and it was fantastic. Absolutely exceeded our expectations and definitely would be eating here if we were in the area again!

Lovely cafe, visited whilst in the area for my Hen party. Had booked a table for 6, order at the counter and food and drinks came very quickly. Recommend the mango and passion fruit pancakes. Food presented very well and I think the prices are fair.

Really nice breakfast spot with a great selection on the menu. The decor and ambiance is also really nice and works perfectly. The dishes are nicely presented and the drinks and coffee options are also good. I had the eggs benedict but would have preferred the eggs to be slightly more cooked as the whites were a little runny but still edible (poached eggs aren't the easiest) and I think a tad more bacon too as it was quite slim. Others in my group had a full English and the bacon and chicken pancakes which they enjoyed. We also tried the special brew of coffees which was a nice experience. Overall really good place and would consider revisiting if in the area.

we had a spontaneous trip to Ashbourne and this cafe caught our attention straight away. And so good we came there! I loved the decor, and menu offers so much more than a typical cafe. We had butternut squash on toast (looked and tasted great) , my partner had pancakes with bacon, breaded chicken with maple syrup.. sooo delicious! and coffee - that's another big STAR for amazing ones. I had a beetroot latte (rarely on the menu at most cafes) - it was perfect. We already planning to come back to Ashbourne in the summer

Exceptional experience. This was our first ever visit with our 4 legged friend and the welcome could not have been any more warmer. The servers were chatty, polite and ready to explain anything and everything about their menu. I had my first taste of a rice crispie chicken burger and all I can say is wow! You must try to appreciate it. Hot chocolate and coffee we would go as far the say the BEST in Derbyshire. We can’t wait to return.

We painted two pots and loved every minute. The lovely ladies were welcoming and helped us with advice and very nice coffees! The shop downstairs was also amazing and some Jellycats may have been added to the collection!

Absolutely loved bringing my step daughter here we had so much fun! We both picked out an ornament to paint and had the most beautiful cake and tea! Would highly recommend. The only thing I would say is it's super quiet and everyone who was in there with us said the same thing, it needs a radio or something for a little background noise as it feels slightly awkward. Other than that it's fantastic and hope to be back soon!!!

Lovely location and room. Great English breakfast. Service is rather slow and confusing (you have to queue up, wait for drinks to be made and only then do they start on the hot food order).

A smashing place for a lovely brunch. Visited on a lovely Sunday afternoon and enjoyed sitting outside. Great views whilst you enjoy a drink or something to eat. Plenty of space inside and on the outdoor terrace. The staff here were excellent, super helpful and always on it. The food was freshly prepared and very good. We loved the moto "We don't do fast food, we do fresh food as fast as we can"!! Would definitely recommend.

Lovely cafe, great view and wonderful food will happily go again. It was father's day so was a busier day but it has a good atmosphere. These good amount of parking with an over spill area. Will be going back on a sunnier day for sure. Nice little wonder around the windmill just outside.

Went into Ashbourne to find somewhere for lunch. We walked past Cheddar Gorge and were instantly drawn in! Everything you could want in a deli! Huge selection of different cheeses, sauces, relish, homemade pastries and a plethora of cakes! My husband went for the New York Deli sandwich and was blown away. Pastrami, sauerkraut, gherkins, rocket and soft bread. Photo doesn’t do it justice as he wanted to delve in straight away. We will definitely return the next time we’re in Ashbourne!

Perfect lunch after a walk in the peaks. Deli sandwiches are ENORMOUS and more importantly very tasty. Amazing variety and value for money.

Nice small bakery/deli close to the centre of Ashbourne. We enjoyed the baked goods so much that we went twice! The first time we had a cappuccino cake and a rum truffle. The second time we had a rocky road and viennese whirl. The shop has a nice selection of products and the service was good the both times we went. We are looking forward to going again when we are next in Ashbourne.

Very special gift shop with unique items. Go! The cafe/restaurant - fantastic food, decoration any very, VERY friendly and welcoming team. A must-visit. They seriously pulled one of the best vegetarians sandwiches i ever had. Gifted team in the kitchen

Before grabbing some food, I had a look around the gift shop. I didn’t buy anything, but there were so many lovely things to pick up. Now, let’s talk about the cafe itself. There was plenty of seating to choose from, so I didn’t have to worry about finding a spot. The food and drink menu had a great selection of classic dishes. When I ordered at the counter, I didn’t have to wait long before it arrived. Everything tasted absolutely delicious! I didn’t have a single comment about anything needing improvement.

Came today for afternoon tea with mum for her birthday, our first visit and we shall be back! The staff in the cafe were lovely and attentive. The afternoon tea was gorgeous all items were fresh and delicious. Lovely glass of Prosecco to start and the tea selection was great. Thank you for providing such a lovely service🩷

Good quality food and great for a lunch stop off with a bit of shopping included. Good little shop area(s) to browse. Has a good card selection. Facilities clean and well looked after. Good onsite parking with overflow next door. Service nice and friendly with only quite a short wait for lunch. Nice outside seating area if the weather is nice.

What a fab place for lunch. Obviously, they can be very busy. Fortunately we went for a late lunch around 1:30-1:45 and got seated in the conservatory which had a nice view out into the garden and included a big heater to keep the place warm. The staff were lovely and very helpful giving clear guidance on how to order and what's on the menu. The decaf tea was well presented, a good quantity and hot. The quiche meals were of very generous portions, with a good measure of mixed salad. There was a wide selection of cakes. The cornflake tart caught my eye and when it came it was a generous portion. I can recommend it! We moved into the main seating area after a short time as it was quite cool in the conservatory for us. The big heater couldn’t quite cope with the outside sliding doors opening for customers coming and going. The main seating area was a better area to sit, and was a good bit warmer. It was good to see the staff set to cleaning the tables and floors after customers had left. There are a couple of toilets on the ground floor, both clean and tidy with good facilities. The couple of things that would have made our experience even better was. 1. Fix the sliding outside door and stop it being left open or sliding open. On a cold day it is noticeable. 2. Both of our quiche meals were only just warm. They would have been much nicer a lot hotter. Overall, the staff were excellent, the food very good and the place was clean and tidy. Prices were a little more then we would have paid else where. There appears to be two car parks. We parked in the one off the main road and ended walking along it just around the corner to find the closer carpark and the entrance. We will definitely go again, perhaps when the weather improves or ask for a seat inside the main café.

Went for lunch. The cafe was busy but managed to get a table for 3 of us. Lovely views infront of the glass floor to ceiling windows of the surrounding area. Prices are quite high, however this outweighed by the quality and selection of the food. I had quiche of the day which came with a plate full off salad and pasta with a door wedge size of quiche. Well worth the money! Good selection of drinks available with a promot service. The selection of cakes are definitely tempting as well. Will definitely pay another visit l.

Treated my husband to a birthday lunch here today. We were greeted by a lovely member of staff who directed us to the cafe upstairs. The seating area is bigger than expected, with beautiful works of art all around. The menu is great. My husband had the avocado on toast with poached eggs and he added on bacon - he really enjoyed it. I had probably the best salad I've ever eaten! It had figs, goats cheese, crushed hazelnuts, quinoa, sweet drop peppers, a delicious dressing and I paid a little extra for Serrano ham too - I'd definitely recommend it. The lady serving us was polite and non intrusive; giving us plenty of time to decide what we'd like to order. We will most certainly be back again and I can see this being somewhere we visit regularly now we know about it...a hidden gem!

Visually striking place, full of art, light airy feel with great views. We approached the counter each time we needed something rather than staff coming to our table. Although a gentleman (owner?) Talked to us. Not busy on our visit. It's a nice atmosphere, staff seem happy and relaxed, however I felt a little like I was intruding into a family home! Staff personal effects on a table where customers have to pass is wide open to theft (A handbag and a laptop)! I had a lady stand next to me whilst I was eating, making me feel uncomfortable. (Staff family member) Our meal was really nice, bottomless tea is fabulous. Sadly, the cake was quite dry. On street parking for blue badge holders. Not sure if there is a lift for wheelchair users? Thank you.

I always love coming to Stable View. I stopped by today and sat outside. Beautiful views in the sun. Lunch was delicious - halloumi flat bread and fries.

We arrived on a busy Friday lunchtime and a queue was forming for tables. However, staff were polite and efficient, doing their best to accommodate people. We were offered a side window bench which we took and a waitress came to tell us their specials. Lucky us, we landed on a newly introduced Fish Friday and whilst we pondered our choices, a "proper" table came free and we were waved over. We placed an order of fish and chips each and also requested if we could takeaway a pulled pork panini for our son. A very reasonable reduction in price was offered for this. After a slight but expected wait for how busy it was, our food arrived and it was all freshly cooked, delicious and plentiful. The panini was brought over towards the end of us eating and stayed hot for us to take home. Will definitely be back, and hope fish Friday continues

Absolutely fantastic service from the moment we arrived even though they were exceptionally busy. The coffee was lovely, there was a great selection of milkshakes, hot chocolates and yummy cakes too!! Great portion sizes and lots of variety on the menu… We had a young gentleman who served us (sorry I didn’t get his name) and he was so wonderful, he talked us through the specials and the menu and was so patient, polite and helpful… a real superstar!! Thank you so much… it was our first visit and we will be back soon…

Very nice cafe , friendly staff, fast service even at lunchtime. Coffee and burger was really tasty , I'd recommend this place. The cakes looked great but the burger and fries was a really good portion so I wouldn't have been able to fit it in. I'll definitely be back
