Such a lovely little café. I go here every now and then with my grandma, each time I'm blown away by the quality and quantity of items for the price you pay. everything is well priced and well portions, well worth the visit.

We have often seen Masons but never ventured in until 3 weeks ago, how we wished we had done this sooner. We have now been for Saturday breakfast for the last 3 weeks. The staff are lovely, the food is great and it is a lovely place to be. They seem to love dogs and go out of the way to make a fuss of ours. Highly recommend to anyone.

What delightful place! Had a decadent hot chocolate made with actual chocolate flakes in hot milk, mini marshmallows and cream. The baked potato was divine, as was my fiancées chicken and brie panini !

Staff are friendly . Food is amazing café was clean and modern. It's a really nice place to watch the world go by . Thank you !! :)

Great food, take cash and make it easier for everyone else. Order food and eat it, it's delicious. Take your plates away and don't be a scruff they've asked you to do it, so do it.

Great breakfasts, a cosy fire, and with a friendly atmosphere. Pay cash and fill up on tasty treats! Plenty to take away too, including the largest sausage rolls you've ever seen!

Stopped here on our way through to the Hope Valley. A bit of a pilgrimage as I used to frequent the café in my younger days while on holiday in the Peak District. Thankfully not much has changed! Food and drink are ordered from the counter and is brought to the hatch where cutlery and sauces are kept. There are two seating areas, both with a lot of original station decor, and both with lovely roaring fires. We ordered a full breakfast each, a hot chocolate and a coffee. The drinks were made immediately and were piping hot. The food was a little while after and was quite the plate full, for £8.80 including the drink was very good value for money. Don’t forget to bring cash and make sure you take your dirties to the wash up counter!

One of our favourite venues for a pre hike meal. One again fantastic value, good choice of hearty food to stock up on the calories ready for your challenging walk. Highly recommended and will be returning again when in the Peaks.

Beautiful interior and the food is delicious. It has probably the largest selection of vegetarian and vegan options I've seen. The staff are just lovely and take great pride in their work and make you feel so welcome. Unfortunately it's not close by to us but we make the journey whenever we can. Highly recommend.

No.4 can be found just off the Clowne Greenway, which makes it ideal for a stop off if biking or hiking. I stopped off whilst out biking and was more than happy with the service and the food & drink. I might also mention that it has a lovely courtyard area for customers to sit out in, which offers a nice mixture of shaded and non-shaded areas. The prices were reasonable and certainly somewhere that I would visit again when up that way on.

A Cozy Morning Breakfast. Visited on a snowy morning in 19November24. After driving from Manchester, my partner and I were starving, and this charming spot didn't disappoint. The staff were incredibly friendly, and I was impressed by how quickly our food arrived - definitely the fastest service I've experienced in a cafe. The coffee was excellent, and the cozy atmosphere made it perfect for a cold winter morning. Convenient parking just around the corner. Highly recommend for a quick, warm, and delicious breakfast!

Three Roots Cafe provided a bustling atmosphere when I visited around 3 pm, with the place completely packed. However, the person taking our order appeared to be in a rush and somewhat inattentive. Despite this initial impression, the food surpassed all expectations. I opted for a veg soup paired with a cheese sandwich, both of which were incredibly flavorful and satisfying. Additionally, I indulged in a chocolate brownie, which undoubtedly ranked as the best I've ever had in my lifetime. The cafe boasts a wide variety of delightful desserts, although I wish there were more vegetarian/vegan options available for the main course. The interior decor is charmingly simple, a bit congested but lively - contributing to a pleasant dining experience overall.

It was our first visit to this cafe. The staff went out of their way to ensure our visit and coffee were perfect nothing was too much trouble for them. It was spotless and clean and the menu had a good choice for all clientele. If you are visiting Castleton we would highly recommend this establishment.

Had breakfast with a friend as a catch up. The full English was so tasty and a large portion. The pork sausage was one of the best I've tasted. The only negative point of the breakfast was the scrambled egg - over done and rubbery, but the rest of the breakfast was so good. Flat white was good too. Would definitely be back again (hopefully better eggs next time)

Stopped in to Castleton on our way back from Mam Tor, and found this lovely little spot for lunch. Great menu, very friendly and polite staff and just the perfect place to grab a quick bite to eat and a much needed refuel! Coffees were hot (none of this lukewarm, pretty foam art nonsense thankfully!) and very good beans, baguettes were huge and stuffed with filling, and the hand cut, home made chips were exceptional! Definitely give this place a try if you're heading through or staying in Castleton

What a lovely place. The homemade sausage roll was sensational . One of the very best I've ever had and I've had a lot ! So tasty that I bought another and a quiche to take away. Lovely staff as well.

On entering we were met by the very friendly staff who took us to our table(booking in advance is a must). I chose the regular Steak, ale and mushroom pie which was served with mash, broccoli and carrots. The gravy I must say was delicious and complemented the meal perfectly. This portion of pie was huge and many guests around me doubted I'd finish it(I did!) I can thoroughly recommend a visit to this cafè with the friendly atmosphere and tasty fayre.

Visited for a coffee and cake today. Ended up with the best sausage roll and home made fruit cake and lemon curd EVER. Please, visit this amazing little cafe. Great service, wonderful atmosphere, sumptuous and delicious home made fare. Highly recommend.

Had a fantastic experience at The Family Tree! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a lovely countryside charm. The food was delicious, well-prepared, and generously portioned. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from start to finish. Whether you’re stopping by for a coffee, a meal, or just a relaxing time, this place is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended!

Popped in with the missus for a spot of lunch, which quickly escalated into a dining delight! I chose the bagels with smoked salmon, and she chose poached eggs on toast with crushed avocado. Both meals were absolutely perfect, great textures, balance of flavours, and the portions were both generous and very reasonably priced. Touches like a drizzle of balsamic vinegar, and a seeded bagel, rather than a plain one, just shows the level of care and attention put into their food. Throw in some fresh spinach and eggs cooked to perfection, what more could you want?Cake! That’s what!! Even though we were both full, we simply couldn’t leave without a couple of the cakes on display, they simply looked amazing. And they were! Thoroughly recommend these lovely people, the fantastic food, great location, and one more bonus…they allow dogs, which meant we got a bit of a doggo fix too!! Brilliant 👍

A well proportioned cafe plenty of outside dining space and good parking. Offers a wide range of tasty looking breakfasts with vegetarian options. The first time I have been offered a raspberry jam croissant, but it was quite nice. I would imagine this place is very busy during tourist season. Prices seem reasonable for the quality offered. Staff are .pleasant

Went with my partner on Monday for our monthly date together, notified staff in the booking they my girlfriend is hard of hearing and would prefer a quiet corner and we couldnt be more grateful they put is in a very nice corner where my girlfriend could hear me without discomfort the staff where so friendly and kind. The food was excellent gotta say best burger I’ve had ins while and the starters are so good especially the cocktails! Would recommend and definitely coming back again!

First time coming here, the atmosphere was good and the food was good, I had a cheese scone and a slice of lemon cake, yum. The other people in my group had allergies which were catered for without any fuss. My only complaint was that I asked for Coffee and Walnut cake but our server Bill said there wasn't any, and he refused to bang one out for me, much to my dissapointment, hence only the 1 star. Apart from that he was very attentive and did a super job!!

Solid, customisable hearty breakfast with a warm welcome! I've known this corner of my home town for almost 6 decades but decided to go for breakfast at Copper Cogs for the first time today. Decor-wise the place does its best to create a themed experience in what used to be many years before, a furniture store and estate agents. The staff are all friendly welcoming and helpful. Speed of service is relaxed, but if you go in with a mind for taking your time, you won't be disappointed. Regarding the food - absolutely solid - ordered the full English swapping beans out for mushrooms and toast for tomatoes to avoid all the carbs and felt that if I wanted, i could make any additional mods had I desired. The place, for a late Tuesday morning in Long Eaton, was nicely busy and had a warm, friendly energy to it. Have resolved to return again after such a great little meal. Nice one!

Service and design were lovely! I had gingerbread latte which was okay, but bit too strong and sweet, and avocado 🥑 toast, which also was okay, but would love bit more avocado on it. My friend had salmon bagel 🥯 and said it was okay. We were not very impressed with the food but are willing to go again as we want to try other menu items that looked interesting!

Updated review, November 2024: visited at peak time on busiest day of the week. Another overall good experience. Very impressed by the team who work flawlessly and efficiently. Turned out that half the pancakes this time were at least a bit dough-y and undercooked in the middle, sadly. But staff replaced the 1 we complained about with 2 perfect ones. (We didn’t tell them about the others as they were good enough to eat or nibble at and we were getting full anyway!) Everything else was great. Will be back! August 2024: Fantastic American pancakes. Great service (thanks Tommy!) and perfect food. Really nice spot. I will be back!

Took my mother-in-law there for a high afternoon tea (it comes with a glass of Prosecco). As a coeliac (I need gluten-free food) I can often struggle to get a variety of items on a menu. What was fantastic about this was that my afternoon and my mother-in-laws were identical in variety and size ... just mine didn't have gluten. It made the experience so much more enjoyable. All the items were delicious although we both couldn't finish all of it so had to had a 'doggy box' to take some of the top tier cakes home! Yes its not cheap - but you definitely get what you pay for! Thinking of going back soon for the bottomless brunch :-)

I chose to host my baby shower here for 16 people, with afternoon high tea. The room was well presented, clean and set out in a horseshoe so guests had no problem interacting with each other. Our main waitress was Isobel, and she was lovely and very attentive. Making sure everyone had drinks and food and that everything was running well. She wasn't overbearing and just popped in a regular intervals to pour prosecco and check in. A lot of guests commented about how lovely and accommodating Isobel was. The food was beautiful and there was a lot of it. Alolmost every guest had an extra box to take some home with them. Everything was lovely and allergies were well looked after too. I've visited before, but there were a handful of people that hadn't and so I think they will be visiting again soon. Thank you for adding to such a special day.

We just have jumped for coffee however our lattes were well made , extra hot as requested. Nice ambience, so many people ( very popular palce). Kind staff, table service. Price a bit higher than similar places. Happy at all.

Friendly staff, great coffee and really nice cakes. We went on a snow day and was seated next to a blazing hot fire. Couldn't have been more perfect.

Visited late on a Sunday afternoon and the cafe was packed so we sat in their front courtyard. The scone was yummy albeit it burnt on the bottom. Service was understandably slow. Still would return but plan ahead and get a table inside.

Walked Chatsworth Thursday and to Edensor cafe for breakfast. Friendly, staff, food very good and service with a smile. Been many times and will certainly be going again.

Loved this place, staff are so kind and welcoming. We booked a table for 2 and a baby with pram which was made available for us and the orders were taken with drinks arriving fast and then breakfast orders taken and the food arrived shortly after a generous portion that had a whole lot of flavour.

Very friendly and caring staff. The place is brand new including the whole building. Spacious car park, toilets are located outside. The food is delicious and plenty. Inside is a bit cold so be prepared for that. Will likely return. Loved the chamomile and citrus tea.

Called in for breakfast after visiting Eyam. The place was very busy but managed to get seated and got served within good time considering how packed the place was. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service was great. It’s dog friendly, and our pooch was brought some water by one of the staff members. The cafe was really nicely decorated and very clean throughout. Breakfast was excellent, good quality ingredients, nicely cooked and presented. The bacon that had been done on the griddle was particularly nice. Great experience overall, and looking forward to coming back for a pizza and a pint one night. ****Edit***** 1 Week after leaving the above 5 star review, unfortunately I have to reduce the rating to a 2. I called into the cafe today after such a great experience last week. Today was fairly quiet, got seated and someone came to take an order within a reasonable time. 3 club sandwiches and a piece of cake and 4 drinks. Drinks came then waited…and waited…and waited for the food. A couple of tables got served but there didn’t seem to be a lot of action in the cooking area, so wondered if our order had gone through. No food after an hour so decided it was time to go. I asked the waitress for the bill for the drinks and explained that our food hadn’t arrived. I got a lukewarm apology of “Sorry, not sure what happened “. Waited another 5 minutes for her to discuss with colleagues then got the drinks bill. I mentioned how good things had been last week, but was disappointed that nobody had realised we hadn’t been served when there were only a few customers in. I would have been happy with an apology with some conviction, asked if we still wanted food, maybe not charge for the drinks due to the error. I don’t leave many negative reviews, and would always give an establishment chance to put things right, but I feel everything was a bit casual and didn’t leave the place feeling there had been a genuine error, but staff had done everything to make me feel I still wanted to return again. Chapter 3! …. Came in today for a breakfast. Very busy but got seated. Service was great, breakfast was great. Just wanted to say a special Thanks to Vicky. She was really welcoming and attentive. I noticed her running around, checking on customers, she came back to us twice about our breakfast and our bill at the end, just to check in on us. She must have covered 2 miles in the time we were there, and all with a smile on her face.This is what customer service should be like. Vicky deserves a medal (or a pay rise).I have revised my rating back to 5 stars, based on todays meal and service, just disappointed with last weeks reaction to us not getting served, but hopefully all back and track and can enjoy Cupola again.

Lovely place for a snack or main meal, and the cakes / desserts are divine. It includes a little museum explaining the history of the area and some great old photos. It was a little chilly inside when we visited on a cold winter's day, but still a very pleasant experience.
