I turned up whilst hiking on a Sunday late afternoon so had made no booking. With the gorgeous sunny weather, the pub was very busy however there was still plenty of seating available. I ordered a roast chicken sandwich which came with a side of roast potatoes and gravy, great sized portion for the price and left me feeling pretty full! Definitely want to return now to try the full roast dinner!
Many Thanks to Georgina and team for an excellent Sunday lunch. We had beef and chicken respectively, great home cooked food and rather good value. I booked online- very easy and great idea as we like to eat late 3.30 pm or after- you can specify your lunch choice so they can reserve it for you- very often Sunday lunches have run out by 2pm elsewhere. Lovely pub, very welcoming and professional and cleaning is ongoing. Also important to mention that they serve rather lovely ‘specials’ dishes as well- not just those on the formal menu. Needless to say, we are looking forward to returning.😁
This is our local, and we absolutely adore it. Everyone we take there always has a fantastic time, the food is always delicious, homemade tasting, and the specials are always creative and thoughtful! When we went tonight, the lovely gentleman serving us proudly told us that the courgettes and marrow were locally grown down the road, and they were delicious! Just overall a wonderful, warm, comfortable, and welcoming place to eat, drink, and spend the evening, could not recommend it enough!
Excellent pub. Went in with the family for Sunday dinner and was not disappointed. All fresh cooked food in good portions, even the kids plates had plenty. The Yorkshire puddings were a highlight, fresh cooked and tasty. Really friendly atmosphere and staff couldn't be more helpful. Only dropped in on the off chance but will definitely be going back!
