The Best Cafes in Bonsall, Derbyshire, United Kingdom (2025)

Had an absolutely delicious lunch here today on our first ever visit. Staff are lovely and can’t do enough for you. The cakes are phenomenal! Such a lovely gem of a cafe and dog friendly too which is a bonus if you’re out walking. Hidden gem!

You can't fault this place if you tried, it's excellent. The owner and staff were friendly, lovely and very helpful. The rooms were clean, very nicely decorated and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was included and beautifully cooked. It really was a wonderful little find, well priced, faultless, and I can't recommend it enough. If you're lucky enough to get a room and have the pleasure of staying there, on our experience you'll definitely be leaving with a smile.

I ended up having a small breakfast and a latte. The coffee tasted great and the breakfast was cooked perfectly. On top of all of that the prices were very reasonable and the staff were very friendly. The location is also excellent and it's worth having a walk around the village!

We stayed for three nights. The Fountain Tea Rooms are a lovely quaint B&B with great rooms, comfy bed, good selection of facilities and are very clean. We had breakfast in the cafe below the room and it was amazing. Food was well presented and tasted great.Could ask for anything from full English to scramble egg and mushroom on toast. Nothing was to much trouble and the staff were friendly and very helpful. The area was quite and peaceful. And also had a children's play ground across the road. The Kings Head pub up the road did fantastic steaks well worth the money. We would recommend a stay at the Fountain Tea Room. Great stay and lovely place Thanks to all the staff that made this happen. X

We came across this pub whilst out walking. The staff were really friendly and our Sunday lunch was very good. We would definitely visit again if we are ever staying in that area.

Very good food and the atmosphere was very comfortable. I had a long flight and this place really helped with calming me down and settling in London for the rest of my trip.

On holiday for a week in Bonsall made exceptionally welcome. Our Brown Lab Max was also made welcome too with a couple of biscuits on every visit. This is by a country mile the best pub on Bonsall. We tried the other one! Doesn’t come close! If you are Bonsall the Kings Head is the place to be.

Great pub, land lady and landlord are very friendly, great selection of beers, ciders, wine and cocktails! Pizza's are so tasty, especially the calzon! Love the fact you can take them to go too! Fantastic dog friendly pub

Great breakfast today at Woodside cafe! One vegetarian breakfast with a coffee, and one large full English with a tea- came to £18! Great value, great service, and the food tasted incredible! We will definitely be back!

A great little café on the via giella road just up from cromford, set on a large car/bike park. The food is good and the drinks are very reasonable, staff are friendly the cost is very surprising to say it's only a short distance from Matlock bath. Set by a stream in a picturesque wood it's a great stop with friendly bikers, cyclists and car drivers, that are more than happy to make you feel welcome 👍

Great little stop for a brew and butty , friendly staff and usually other bikers to have a chat too

The cafe was reopened under new management in December and personally the food is even better the cabin as been revamped and I would definity give it 100% please give this little gem a try let's keep them in business
