Great shop to live near. I have bought many things off them over the years and it was always my grandad's go-to place for odds and ends. They will help you find what you're looking for if you want, so you're in and out pretty quick every time, and they cut timber to the size you need if you ask them. If you take in a list of things you're after, they'll walk you round the shop and show you the selection they have for each item and discuss which option will be the best for the job you're working on. Definitely worth checking in here if you're nearby to see what you can get cheaper than B&Q. I'm closer to this place anyway and can go to the nursery just up the road in Bickershaw for garden stuff so I've stopped bothering with B&Q in recent years.

99%of the time I find what I was after and more besides, much cheaper than B&Q and helpful friendly staff, love this place

DIY is a very serious business to me and to be honest I knew little or nothing about repairing or replacing anything beyond the very basics,but now thanks to the fantasticly informative and "novice" friendly service at the Handyman's Stores I have gained many new skills in the plumbing and general household repairs there is an endless amount of tools and equipment and supplies available, so a huge thank you to all the guys in the shop and long may you remain the Number One DIY store in Wigan Lancashire.

Went there today to price up internal doors. The ones we wanted were only £1 more than B and Q but the door furniture we chose was ,£5 per set cheaper. All in all we saved about £10 and supported a local shop. They've offered delivery for free as we spent quite a bit. The guys there were extremely helpful. Something you don't always get from big stores. Surprisingly well stocked shop and able to order if not in. Glad we went there before buying elsewhere.

Very helpful staff. You don't get that in the likes of BNQ!
