My first visit to Dorset Dental Cinic I was most impressed by the quick and efficient service I received. A plan was quickly put together. The staff I talked to were very friendly and helpful. Cannot recommend enough. As a nervous patient I was very quickly put at ease. 5 stars from me.

I broke a molar and was in a lot of pain. I couldn’t find a dentist anywhere so I tried these guys… I left a message and they got back to me within an hour. The lovely receptionist booked an appointment for me later that afternoon. The dentist then phoned me too to get more detail about my tooth problem which was a nice touch.I saw Shannon and her nurse who were incredible. All three ladies were very professional and extremely caring. I live over an hour away from Dorset dental clinic however would have no hesitation in going back there and am seriously considering using them all the time… They really were excellent. Thank you DDC… I have also just received an e mail from them with all the detail of my treatment including the picture of the x-ray they took so I can pass it on to my dentist to help him know all the information. Had my first consultation and was made to feel very much at ease. Lovely friendly staff and the information given was in depth and very clear. Absolutely no pressure at all to sign up for treatments and no upselling which was refreshing. I have already decided based on my consultation and all of the information given to me, to go ahead with treatment. So I'll review again after my next appointment. Actually looking forward to visiting the dentist! That's a first!!

I’m not one who tends to write reviews but after my first check up today I felt like I wanted to. This is for other people out there who have had their NHS practice closed and now can’t get a NHS dentist and are reluctant to go private. I understand how you feel, I work part time and am at college and finances are tough enough. Yet I found myself admitting defeat and looking for a dentist, I like to have yearly check ups and was getting anxious it had been too long (I’m on the NHS waiting listing for a wisdom tooth removal and wanted to check that I was fine waiting). A College friend told me how she had an emergency appointment here and how great they were. She had ended up joining them and told me they were taking on new private patients. My parents and I have now joined and have all been happy with the process. I particular like, how above you there is a computer screen, you can see the dental nurse inputting data as it’s called out. So yes, the check up is a quick process but you can see all the info being inputted and that you’re getting a full check up. He also checked my gums for bleeding. This is only my first check up but for now, I’m comfortable that my dental health is in good hands and that any work recommended, is in my best interest and not for them to make a quick buck. So for now in this NHS dental desert, I am happy to be on their books.

I recently attended this dental practice this year for the first time where I was welcomed warmly by both the receptionist Michelle and my dentist Lakshmi. A treatment plan was agreed and all subsequent appointments have been on time, very professional and friendly. I visited the hygienist Jane and it was the best clean l have ever had and great advice. I would have no hesitation in recommending this dental practice to anyone, it truly is an amazing experience.

Not usually taken to leaving reviews but we had to say how pleased we are with the practice. We, thus far have only dealt with 4 members of staff and every one needs commending. Michele in reception was a real pleasure to talk to. Samantha (Dentist) listened carefully and gave some sound, professional, advice. Naomi (hygienist) spent ages explaining everything clearly and did such a great job on my teeth. Finally Lisa, who stood out because although she was exceptionally busy but still managed to get us sorted quickly and in a particularly friendly manner. Fair play to the management for employing such a great team.

Always excellent service, lovely reception team and the dentists and support team are fantastic - they explain things clearly and take their time. They're gentle and considerate in the treatments too. The only challenge is that they're so thorough that I keep getting encouraged to floss more :)

I can’t thank Simon enough for the kindness and care he has shown with my grown-up son’s repair work. I had a dental emergency so called Simon Wood at Lumley and Wood to arrange an appointment. I was expecting a wait as the surgery had only just re opened but I was delighted to get an appointment within an hour or two of the call. The surgery was running a very efficient system with questions relating to COVID-19 both before and on arrival. My temperature was checked and hand sanitizer was provided. The surgery entrance was only opened for booked patients. I felt very safe in the surgery environment as the staff were wearing PPE with my dentist using a visor and a mask in addition to the usual measures. Extra equipment had been installed to extract the circulating air after every patient and cleaning of surfaces and longer gaps between patients were organised. An excellent service, as always, in what felt like a very safe environment.

I had an accident a while back losing a couple of my front teeth. I went to Simon after being recommended by a friend. The treatment I’ve had from saving damaged teeth to recently fitting me with my amazing new replacements has been exemplary. Simon and his team are just brilliant and wanted the best outcome for me from the start, all the options were explained throughly allowing me to make an informed decision. I had an emergency appointment followed by a filling a week later My whole experience was very well managed from the first call booking in right through to the final appointment- all handled with the professionalism and kindness I have come to appreciate in the 28+ years of being with Lumley and Wood They are handling the current health situation brilliantly If you have any concerns about attending during this time wipe them away as everything is handled correctly with no risks whatsoever. Went to my final appointment with Dr Mark Brickley. He arranged for me to have a mouth brace made to help my sleep apnoea. It has worked better than we had all hoped so I do not have to use a CPAP machine at night. The overall cost was very reasonable and he has been extremely helpful. He has signed me off saying that I should not need to come back for about two years when I will need to have a new plastic brace made.

I saw Katy the hygienist. She was brilliant. She checked how clean my teeth were, provided practical advice/support and cleaned areas of my teeth that needed it. I will definitely be booking in with her again. I also use Resolution for maintaining my fixed retainer and they have always been very good and provide great support.

I have just had approx 20 crowns fitted to replace 40 year old ones which were looking unsightly. Needless to say this was extensive treatment and expensive, however Matthew is such a comfortable person to be with, he is so friendly and approachable, and really tried to make me feel relaxed.. my only negative was i felt bit ropey a couple of times and would have loved a quiet room to sit in for a while rather than the waiting room, but this is a lot to ask i suppose , especially in a small building. Staff are very helpful and friendly .I am so pleased with my new teeth 🥰

I have been a patient at Black Swan for several years and have found every part of the service to be exemplary from the Reception staff through to the Hygienists and Dentists. I recently had extensive and difficult work done to correct a problem and Ahmad was so understanding and spent considerable time and effort ensuring that I was happy with the result. I cannot imagine any of my previous dentists taking this amount of trouble. I feel confident in knowing that Ahmad and his team will always strive to choose the best treatment I need.

As a very nervous dental patient, I cannot recommend Black Swan more highly. I am currently undergoing a course of treatment with Dooha who is not only exceptionally knowledgeable but also exceptionally understanding and human. I’ve been totally put at ease and feel genuinely cared for by the entire team. The reception staff are second to none, and play such a vital role in the whole experience. I wouldn’t go anywhere else (it also helps that it also feels like you’re stepping into a 5* hotel when you enter the building!)

I am a very nervous patient following treatment received as a child in the 1960s. However, the treatment I received from Fernando for my dental implants was second to none. He is an excellent practitioner and has the ability to create an air of calm which would put any nervous patient at ease. Josh kindly fitted an implant nearly two years ago which I am very pleased with, I recently had an issue with the gum surrounding the implant. Josh and Tawf were able to quickly address the issue for which I am very grateful, the review was very thorough and I learned some useful tips on how to use interdental brushes.

I had 3 implants successfully inserted by Fernando a couple of years ago, without any pain. Recently I needed a deep cleansing treatment for gum disease over one tooth and again, I did not experience pain. Although I have private general dentistry, this is the only dental surgeon who has given injections without pain due to the use of a superior numbing agent beforehand. All the staff are very pleasant also. I can highly recommend this Centre.

Date of visit 15/11/24.( New patient) I was really very anxious as it was my first time for treatment with a new dentist. I needed not to have had such a sleepless night worrying! I feel very stupid now because I was looked after so well by my fabulous team Dr.Jessica Scott and nurse Ellie. They understood my nervousness and immediately reassured me that I was going to be in safe hands. The treatment I received was quick and completely painless. Ellie was really lovely and kept reassuring me as the treatment progressed which was greatly appreciated. I have to visit again for a couple more longer appointments to prepare to have a gold crown fitting and I promise not to be such a baby next time! Having had such a good experience on my first visit has absolutely reassured me that I’m in very experienced and safe gentle hands. So I’m looking forward to my next appointment!
