Been to the cafe a few times now, and every time the parathas have come out hot & fresh Tasty and well made Yesterday we were lucky enough to be part of weekend only draw & got our meal for free! Thank you
I recently had the pleasure of indulging in one of the best dosas I’ve had in a while—and I’m still thinking about it. From the first glance, the dosa was a thing of beauty: perfectly golden, crisp on the outside, and paper-thin, with just the right amount of softness in the middle. The texture was spot on—crunchy edges that gave way to a soft, slightly chewy center. It had that subtle tang from the fermented batter that pairs so well with the spiced potato filling. Speaking of the filling, it was flavorful without being overpowering. The mashed potatoes were seasoned with mustard seeds, curry leaves, and a hint of green chili—warm, comforting, and aromatic. What really elevated the experience were the accompaniments: a creamy coconut chutney that was fresh and mildly sweet, a spicy tomato chutney that packed a punch, and a piping hot sambar, full of veggies and perfectly balanced in spice. Whether you’re a longtime fan of South Indian cuisine or trying dosa for the first time, this one is a must-try. It’s the kind of dish that reminds you how simple ingredients, when done right, can create something truly special
Have previously ordered takeaway parathe on several occasions, I visited a couple of weeks ago for lunch after a long time with my daughter. Restaurant was clean, food was delicious, served promptly and made with fresh ingredients. But I think what makes Panjabi Rasoi unique is their service. Staff are inviting, warm and friendly. It was coming up to closing time and we were some of the last dining in at the time but at no point did we feel rushed or uncomfortable. They also give back to the community with their charitable contributions to Midland Langar Seva. Thank you Sukhy for being so understanding :) Recommend without reservation.
Visted Punjabi Rasoi on Friday 04th February 2022, with my mother for a spot of brunch. The restaurant is very clean and tidy, tables were being cleaned as soon as customers left and thoroughly. The menu is extensive and you truly are spoiled for choice. We opted for a veggie breakfast and a portion of masala beans on toast with hashbrowns, BRILLIANT. So tasty and hot. We also had two hot chocolates, by FAR the best hot chocolate we tried. Yet We thought Starbucks was good! Customer service was great, greeted nicely, process of ordering explained politely. No complaints at all. There was a mix of different customers from all ages and backgrounds, some seem like work meetings, some an afternoon date, some just generally catching up. Will definitely return and very soon. Thank you guys.
The food is excellent, parante are very tasty, we asked for extra spicy however they still made it regular spice. The desi tea is served in large cups :-) The ordering process is strange, you place the order at the till, they don’t take payment until the end - it makes sense to do this if the ordering was at the table. They should just take payment like Nando’s at the start if you have to order at the till. We had to ask a few times for the tables to be cleaned.
