It was super busy this morning. Lovely to see an independent cafe thriving! Staff were nice and accommodating. Coffee was amazing. We ordered the Full English, everything was really nice except the hash browns. One was really tough & chewy and the other was really nice. Quite odd but hey these things happen. Love that it’s Dog /Child friendly. All cutlery is available at the front with clean cups for water. All self explanatory. Very clean.

Forever my favourite local cafe and kitchen. Paul, Hayley, Loren and the team make this place feel like home, and whether you live in the area or coming from away, you'll always be made to feel like that. As well as having the most photogenic and tasty food and drinks, for someone who always takes photos of that. Always wishing the team the very best, and can't wait to see more of what they are capable of doing ❤️

Good food. Okay service. Busy place. Full size English breakfast would cost 30 pounds for a couple. Black pudding isn’t that great. It’s tasteless. Parking is available nearby (paid)

We have visited this Cafe many times now and we absolutely love it- if you are in Knowle, you must visit this place. The staff here are so welcoming and attentive, and very engaging with our young children which is lovely to see, and its great to see genuine beaming smiles. The food is of excellent quality, comes out hot and full of flavour. The decor is modern, contemporary, comfortable and clean. Overall its a pleasurable experience everytime we dine here and we are already looking forward to our next visit after visiting only this morning. Thank you Paul and team. See you again very soon.

Shoutout to the lovely ladies in the kitchen who whipped up a cheese toastie for me, even though I came in just 5 minutes before closing. Thanks for making me feel so welcome!

Great food, always love the ambience and staff is ever so friendly and welcoming. Niamh served us and there were few of us, she stunned all of us as she remembered every single one of our orders, very impressive which proves Damascena staff takes pleasure in providing ace customer service. Lovely place for family and friends gathering.

Very tasty food and big portions, spacious restaurant and good service, the menu is very interesting and fun to explore. Recommend, especially the hummus and shawarma.

Really nice food and restaurant, very decently priced. Lovely spiced chai latte, although it was a shame we couldn’t drink until after our meal as they were very hot! Would make it a 5 star if the service improves.

One of the better Damascena locations, a friendly and clean environment and the food was hot and tasty. Service was poor as they were short staffed and one server for all the tables. The food delivery was slower than expected. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Vegan options available.

A tidy, bright cafe overlooking Castle Bromwich Shopping Centre. Jane’s cafe is an institution and by the looks of things, will continue to be. It is packed with customers at a lunch time. I’m sure it’s even more popular at lunch times. Inside, it is spacious. Outside it offers a wooden decking area for seating too.

Nice food, clean cafe, ladies in there are lovely, definitely use again

Been a fair few years since I've been here and must say absolutely love the decor in the cafe. Food was lovely and reasonably priced. Only thing that let it down was dirty cutlery - stood there for ages trying to pick out the best looking knife and fork.

Great cafe, I found this place by having my car mot,d on the estate just round the corner and what a gem!!! My wife and l both had the breakfast at £4.70 each, which included toast and a cup of tea. Well it was absolutely fabulous, bacon, sausage, egg, hash brown, beans and tomatoes and the sausages were Brill.

I usually call in when getting the car serviced locally. Breakfast was nice and tea in big mugs. I'm very picky with sausages (and a bit of a sausage snob), though I ate them and they were better than most cafes. Bacon lovely, beans, eggs and toast lovely. Hash browns passed the rigidity and crispiness test and weren't soggy at all. I took the laptop and a socket was available for charging. Only thing I wasn't sure about was wifi provision and if it is available, the mobile signal was a bit dicy at times when trying to log on to my laptop. Toilets appear to have had a refurb since last time I visited with cleanliness being good, soap, toilet paper and blue roll all available and in plentiful supply. Hot water all fine. Card payment wasn't an issue with a £1 minimum spend. A couple of seats outside on the parade too which is nice. Decor is pleasant and no loud music ot TV. Staff are really pleasant and friendly. I recently visited this cafe during lunch hours. It was busy, and the staff were working efficiently. The kitchen and serving counter provide a view of the fast-paced work. The menu is extensive, covering basic cafe items and light dinner snacks at excellent value. I ordered the half-pounder cheeseburger with chips and a drink. The burger included a salad that paired well with the sauce, and the chips were well-cooked. This place is serious competition for other establishments on the same road.

The staff, service and food are all fantastic. Great value for money.

The cafe was clean, tidy and well maintained. Service was friendly. We had a belly buster breakfast which definitely met the expectations of the name. Great value too. Would recommend.

First time visit. Excellent prices for the food and great quality. Service was great and food came out pretty quick and hot. Would highly recommend but check the times as weekend opening hours are wrong on Google

I love the atmosphere here. It’s so cosy and a joy to sit inside and be in the moment here. It’s such a calming and lovely atmosphere! The coffee was fab. Also had the hash browns with mushrooms which was delicious! Staff were friendly and helpful with discussing gluten free options and I took a slice of cake home with me (red velvet) which was gluten free and also delicious. Look forward to visiting again soon :)

Nice quirky interior, service was quick and efficient. The coffee (hazel nut latte) was REALLY good !! Possible one of the best I’ve ever had. My partner had a flat white which he would rate 5/5. We love a strong coffee and this really hit the spot. Thanks !!

This is a gorgeous hidden gem. The staff are lovely, providing great service and the food and coffee is amazing. I just want to try every single thing on the menu! Also the atmosphere is just INCREDIBLE! So relaxing and chill I very much look forward to coming back here.

A back story, please bear with me. I’ve gone cold turkey on coffee for the past 3 days, i had sold my espresso machine on the weekend. There is me, in Chelmsley Wood, post COVID vaccination, with a craving for the liquid gold. I nearly wept when I saw Costa Coffee pop up on Google Maps when I typed in “Coffee Shops” into the search. I walked at pace to Chelmsley Wood shopping centre. I stood patiently in the queue and was delivered a flat white. After being promoted to download the Costa iOS app I contactless-ly paid a mere 50 pence. I walked outside, took one sip and held back the tears of joy. My tastebuds, having had a 3 day hiatus, tasted every note of that beautifully crafted coffee. Heavenly.

I visit here frequently with my mom and either one or both of my children. The staff are always lovely and the coffee is well made. Yesterday I visited with my 3 year old son for some important one on one time (harder to do nowadays as he has a new baby sister). The staff who were on were SO good with my son. They spoke to him about his order, asking whether he wanted his milk hot or cold and chatting to him when he showed them his dinosaur or pointed to Spider-Man on his jumper. Honestly, staff speaking to your child like this goes SUCH a long way and we had such a nice morning there.

I had my 40th Birthday party here last weekend and it was the most amazing experience. I can’t recommend this wonderful venue and their team enough. The whole process was so easy and smooth, everybody was so nice, helpful and accommodating, the food was lovely and the venue was just perfect. Thank you to Lana for helping me plan the perfect night, from our first meeting over brunch, through to all the help during the party, and to the whole team for the great service on the night too. So many of my guests said how amazing the place was. Honestly, if you’re looking for somewhere to host an event, definitely give them a visit. You won’t be disappointed. x
