Really friendly service and good food. The guys who work here were so welcoming, knew the locals by name and there was lots of friendly chat and banter going on. It was so nice. People need people - kindness and friendship. A lovely friendly setting in a very convenient location.

The most absolutely delightful little tea shop. The food was delicious and generous proportions. Next time I'll need to book afternoon tea. It's adorably decorated, simple but sweet. I loved that children were welcome to tea. Three woman upfront, maybe the owner, was incredibly sweet and attentive despite taking care of everyone. Please go support this amazing little place.

I recently visited this delightful tea room and was thoroughly impressed by the experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm, friendly service that made us feel right at home. The tea for two was exceptionally generous, offering a splendid selection of both classic and unique blends, perfectly brewed and presented. The interior of the tea room was simply lovely, exuding a cozy and charming ambiance that invited relaxation and conversation. Elegant decor, comfortable seating, and tasteful touches created a perfect setting for enjoying a leisurely afternoon tea. We particularly loved the tea pot collection. Overall, this tea room stands out for its impeccable service, generous offerings, and beautiful interior. It’s a must-visit for any tea enthusiast or anyone looking for a serene spot to unwind. The cakes are home cooked and dietary restrictions are catered for. The only negative is the lack of toilet facilities but due to the age of the building this is acceptable as there are facilities across the road. Some light music would also uplift the mood slightly.

A delightful cafe that served a most delicious and filling Afternoon Tea. They were able to accommodate the vegetarians in our group and the spread they put out for the children was amazing. Service was great and friendly.

Gadebridge Cafe offers kind and friendly service, fantastic food, and good value for money. They are now fully open for indoor and outdoor seating. A suggestion for them is to consider offering a delivery service through Uber to increase customer convenience. During the pandemic and while we were shielding, we supported this cafe. Without prejudice, updated review below ⏬️. After placing our small order, we patiently sat waiting. As usual, a very rather large group came in and sat at their reserved table. The group who ordered their food well after our order, then received theirs first, even though we had ordered well before them. Eventually, our meals arrived late. Update number 2. Again without prejudice. Not entirely sure what has occurred but know been a few issues here all thanks to a Karen/Kevin grumbling. Before they opened their mouths, the place used be such a fun lovely and lively hub of a community. *Gone are the days now of sitting down at the outside tables, with locals greeting one and other as they pass. The friendly banter from a lovely server. If want to sit and whilst spending time here and puff (illegal to smoke inside public premises now.) this is no more. Or those who have access issues getting through the door ie. mobility scooter users, large pushchairs etc. that used to happily sit outside, this too is now non existence.* Sadly these days, Community Spirits is not often see as this is slowly fading away for a variety of reasons. We do hope this comes back here, as Gadebridge Cafe was the heart well as soul of the Rossgate community bringing locals alike together, to meet and greet etc. With our child U attending a weekly local club, we often used to sit outside the cafe, giving U space to focus and learn all the while giving U who by the way has SEN, needed reassurance that we are close by plus was another tool to safely teaching them independence skills.

Friendly staff good value food

One of our favourite cafes (a lovely lady who does the most amazing coffees' has recently started working here :)!). Everyone is lovely, the food is delicious, the coffee is great and we really enjoy coming here. A hidden gem. The Turkish honey that they sell is delicious.

Based on the Americano coffee I got it was was of good quality! You can always tell how good a baristas coffee is by trying a black coffee! Very smooth full bodied roast! Overall better then your chain spots. There was selection of cakes and savoury food available also. Always try supporting local businesses and £3 for the coffee it’s very competitive!

Growing up in Hemel, and going to many cafes over the years, Hive is possibly the most welcoming cafe in Hemel. It’s got gorgeous food with the most loveliest people working there.

Lovely place for brunch, food was tasty, they had a good selection. My wife loved all the house plants on display, the location is very clean and picturesque.

Really nice Breakfasts here, good quality food, I had a set 1. 2 bacon and 1 sausage, 1 egg and tinned tomatoes and lots of chips with bread and apple juice for £7.80. Also had Lamb Roast dinner for £8.90, loads of Lamb, with Cabbage, Brocolli, Cauliflower, Carrots and peas, roast potatoes are OK, with lashings of gravy, just about ate the dinner just wish the had Yorkshire pudding. Really yummy decent food, and just the right amount, best around Hemel Hempstead, on busy days parking can be difficult, will definitely come back. Best burgers in Hemel Hempstead too I had the big daddy burger 6oz with egg and bacon, cheese and tomato and extra fries, so delicious.

We stopped by Windmill Cafe during our work trip, and wow—we were in for a treat! We originally came just looking for a nice lunch, but as soon as we walked in, we were impressed. The menu looked amazing, and the food? Absolutely delicious—full of flavor and beautifully presented. From the main course to dessert and coffee, everything was top-notch. The service was warm, welcoming, and truly excellent. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend Windmill Cafe. It’s a must-try! You’ll want to come back again, just like we do. 💯☕🍰

This place always has a great buzz to it and the staff are absolutely lovely. It feels like a real community hub. Have been coming here for years which I think is testament enough in itself but the place is spotlessly clean, there is a great variety of options on the menu, food is always well-presented and delivered piping hot. Personal favourites are the baked potatoes that come with fresh salad and lots of filling and the bubble special. And although there are fixed menu options the staff are often really happy to flex options to suit individual preference.
