My wife and I went for a lovely morning walk in the area. On our way back to the car we decided to pop into the Cedar Coffee Shop and have some breakfast. We both had a full English breakfast and the food was great. We sat in the lovely garden at the rear of the shop and had a lovely time. The coffee was great too. We also bought some local products form the village store. Will definitely be returning again.

This is a delightful find. Nice food (I am gluten intolerant) and superb service. We sat outside with our dog in the sunshine and had a great lunch. I recommend a visit.

Cedar is a fantastic little coffee shop in a quiet village. I had the full English breakfast—generous portions and everything was delicious. I especially loved the bacon: not too hard or too salty, cooked just right. The hash browns and sunny-side-up eggs were also great. The yogurt and granola bowl was fresh and healthy, with plenty of fruit. There’s also a beautiful wooden sculpture outside that adds to the relaxed, countryside atmosphere. Friendly service too. A perfect place for breakfast or brunch!

The arancini are tasty, crunchy on the outside and the stuffing in the middle is generous and flavourful. The rice is well cooked and not mushy. Will certainly go back for more.

Stopped in for a quick bite on the way to the cinema and it was amazing. Great atmosphere very welcoming. Huge arancini, pizza slices and great coffee all served by the very lovely lady at the counter. Will definitely call in again next time we're here.

I had the nduja arancini with a variety of salads and it was delicious. Will definitely return to try more delights!

Really zen lovely little place… gives me Bali decor vibes! The food is amazing, you can tell it’s fresh food produce. The staff are so friendly and they are also doggy friendly which is a plus! 10/10 will be back :)

I had brunch here. Coffee and avocado on toast were absolutely delicious. It was so good that I came back later in the day for smoothies with my brother. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was 10/10. Highly recommend. I will be back.

Really great ambiance to a place, very calm and cozy. It’s not very spacious but attention to detail is spot on, they’ve tried to accommodate as many people as possibly and not make it look congested. Separately would like to outline the table with the map on, it’s simply amazing. Customised mugs and plates add to this authentic feel. Thanks a lot for making this place available for people, it is truly great to visit

What a lovely little find! Perfect food for a big post gym workout. We had poached eggs on gluten free bread (THE BEST IVE EVER HAD) mushrooms on sourdough, mushrooms were our favourite. The gluten bread is from a local bakery and we went straight after to buy (Neno Bakery) on Berkhamsted High street. We also had a delicious mixed cold roasted salad to share. Top notch oat milk flat whites too! We’ll be back next time with the doggo too! Thanks guys

What a lovely place. And the Jamaican chef made the most delicious open sourdough Jamaican jerk chicken sandwich. Very highly recommended

Coffee is nice and strong, and very creamy, suspect that blue lid is the standard which I applaud. We tried the toasted banana bread, salmon and scrambled egg and the bacon banana and maple syrup chia seed pancakes.. reviews below: Toasted banana bread: Rich, toasted yet centre moist accompanied with Greek yogurt and blueberries. The mint on top really added something and so my critique is that there weren’t more sprigs.. add some additional sprigs to the empty part of the plate please as it really elevated it. Scrambled egg with smoked salmon: Was very nice. Salmon was generous but could have done with a little more egg. Chia seed pancakes with banana and maple, paired with the green juice: my wife described this as “absolute delicious perfection”! The chia seeds added more depth to the classic American pancake and the bacon, fatty and slightly crisp. Lots of banana and maple to compliment. Because we can’t put 4.5, we will give a 5.

Lovely new cafe to Berkhamsted. Food is delicious, fresh and offers a great selection of sweet treats. I had the chai pancakes with bacon & banana. Great atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

I’ve been to this amazing place before and had such an amazing experience I was served by a lovely woman called Vicky who gave me such excellent service would highly recommend. I also had Vicky make my birthday cake and cupcakes for my party and everyone loved them and her service was first class 👍🔥

I took my Dad here today for lunch and what a lovely experience we had. The staff are super friendly and the food is absolutely delicious. The homemade cakes are to die for and what a selection they had. I honestly cannot recommened this place enough and I can't wait to take my little nieces to the bus. There’s a number of coffee houses in Berkhamsted, but in my fussy opinion, this is the best for great tasting coffee. I’m happy to travel the six miles by car or bike just to simply have one of their perfect cappuccinos.

Stopped for a hot chocolate and gluten-free brownie. The GF brownie was really chocolaty and very moist, so somebody really knows how to use GF flour. The hot chocolate was an acceptable size, though a bit smaller than I was expecting. Strangley, the cup had no handle, so initially, it was rather too hot to pick up. Very chocolatey with a slightly unusual flavour, a bit different to normal, but perfectly nice.

Delicious mocha and extremely tasty oat cookie 😊 Clean and bright setting and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

Visited Dower House Coffee today with my boyfriend for our anniversary for the first time and was not disappointed! Will definitely be looking to return in the future. We had a caramel brownie, almond croissant and hot chocolates and I honestly couldn't fault them whatsoever, the brownie that I had was especially yummy. They also had milk alternatives for those who need it. The building itself is really cute and I like the way that the cafe is split into different rooms so there is a good amount of seating indoors and outdoors. The space is also decorated very nicely and I like the aesthetic. The staff are very polite and friendly which made our experience today even better too. I can see there are a couple of negative reviews on here but I would not be put off. The staff I encountered today are very helpful and would be willing to accommodate additional needs where possible (such as access) and we really should be supporting small businesses such as this whenever we can. Keep up the amazing work guys :)

Had a great coffee a few days ago, so went back today for lunch. The salads are nutritious, very tasty and filling. Highly recommend the beetroot tart and the chocolate brownie too! Lots of veggie and vegan options, plus GF clearly labelled. Staff are very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.

Amazing coffee, great people! I am also big fan of the goat cheese tart and the intricate and very flavourful salads. I come here so often they even fitted a coat hanger at my suggestion. 😎

Lovely coffee shop I stumbled upon whilst out riding my bike. Coffee was great, almond croissant even better. The place seemed very family friendly, multiple families with young ones, a gentleman next to me was sat alone doing a word puzzle in the paper. I would definitely visit again.

Great place! Amazing for kids. A few animals for them to see and feed and some places for them to play. Really lovely outdoor area. Prefect for a sunny morning with the kids.

What a JOY. Brilliant and kind staff who make perfect breakfast sandwiches-- And a relaxed happy vibe. Families with kids were playing in the sandbox and on the tractor while my partner and I got some writing done in the sun. There were farm animals to feed, like shetland ponies and baby cows. A nice selection of coffees and cakes (especially considering they are primarily a real working farm and not a coffee shop!) This is an absolute hidden GEM in Berkhamsted

Great place found by accident. Lovely tea room. Lots of outdoor seating, some indoors too if the weather isn't great. A few animals to feed outside feed is 50p. Staff are friendly and this place has a lovely atmosphere

We have walked past this place for years without dropping in - always had our own picnic with us but on a whim we did finally visit as we fancied another drink before driving home. There is a car park right opposite that serves Northchurch Common & is fine for the cafe as well. Cakes , sandwiches , jacket potatoes & drinks served in the very attractively decorated barn & a pleasant grass area dotted with well spaced picnic tables. There is an old , red tractor for children to climb about on plus a sandpit. Also some goats to feed with food supplied for a small fee from a vending machine. I thought the snacks & drinks were very reasonably priced which is good for families. Toilet is a portaloo. Altogether , a very pleasant place that does not cost a fortune to visit. We only had a drink so cannot comment on the food.

Was so pleasantly surprised to see somewhere with so many gluten free bakery items. Most places have a gf brownie which I think most people who are gf get sick of, but there was 4 options here including a delicious basque cheesecake! I personally found the coffee tasted a bit burnt so not sure if I would have a coffee specially here again but can’t praise highly enough for the gf bakery selection

Couldn’t resist having this blueberry tart, this is literally the best tart I have ever had. Love it so much, already can’t wait to have it again so delicious. Great job bakers!!😍❤️

what a great little find "Here" is. From the minute we stepped into the restaurant it felt good. Happy friendly staff greeted us and brought cold drinking water to the table straight away - a nice touch. Interesting menu - I can highly recommend the roasted tomatoes with mozerella and padron peppers. Portions sizes were big. Lovely cocktails, reasonable prices an all round great place for brunch/lunch.

Cute little place. Dog friendly which is my biggest bonus! Friendly service and warm atmosphere. Menu is reasonable and good choice for everyone. I opted for the Mushroom and spinach Benedict. I was expecting the mushroom and spinach to be cooked together but it came out fresh, mushroom on top nicely cooked though. Eggs were perfect and sauce was very tasty. No seasoning needed. Finished off with a banana cake which was *delicious* The shakshouka looked gorgeous when it walked past and the English breakfasts looked decent too! Will be back to try some more food! £22 for Virgin Mary, Benedict and banana cake.

Just visited today for lunch & it was amazing 😍 good portions, very tasty, great service & price too. I got food envy looking at the other tables food so will be back again soon to try the other food!
