It has taken us almost 5 years to find this amazing tucked away gem (and believe me we have looked far and wide) and here it is! An intimate, family-run pub with a cozy chatty atmosphere, good wholesome food prepared and deliciously, finger-licking home cooked with passion and thought. A menu with a choice for all tastes, good value for money, friendly, smiling owners/staff, a log fire, parking... the list just goes on. Thank you All. And an especial thank you to you, Megan, to your talented husband and chef, thank you to Patrick for being such a Chatty barman and to all the others we didn't get to meet. Just a wonderful place to be for a Sunday lunch - we were in the right hand side of the pub which was perfect. The choice of roasts was brilliant and you can have a duo or a trio as well as your favourite - our party had a mix of all the roasts and there was a great choice for kids too. Great beer and also a solid wine list.

We have visited the pub several times recently and each time have enjoyed a delicious meal and received great service. Each time the staff were attentive and checked we had everything we needed. The food service was great - taking the time I would expect for a freshly prepared meal. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming and the open fire lovely and warm. As a vegetarian I was pleased to be able to choose something different to the usual options offered in other pubs and restaurants. The puddings were delicious … hard to choose as they all sounded so good! The food was fantastic and we can’t wait to return again next. Whether you visit as a family or couple you will not be disappointed.

A true olde world country pub that I and my husband love. We eat here quite regularly and often pop in for just a drink. We can’t fault it. Excellent food at reasonable prices, and friendly service. If you want to swap out any sides included in a main dish for an alternative, it’s never a problem. Always best to book in advance if you want to eat, as it can get very busy.

You couldn't do better for a superb and authentic English country pub. Exceptional atmosphere, friendly welcome, and beautifully-presented, delicious food. Well worth the short diversion off the beaten track.
