Approaching the half century mark, I have never felt confident about what to do with my hair. Anxiety and depression has made trips to the hairdressers a constant battle, staring at myself in the mirror with a room full of other people, music blaring and constant noise is just not for me. Bending over the bath at home, so the hairdresser can wash the colour out is also an experience I’d rather not repeat. Vicky rescued me in Dec 2022, a simple Facebook post with availability just before Christmas caught my eye after being let down by the dreaded mobile hairdresser! After pinging a message to Vicky, she responded quickly, and instantly put me at ease. She asked me to send a couple of pictures of my current hair and what I wanted to achieve. Having no idea, she guided me through my options. We popped in for the all important patch test, and on meeting Vicky for the first time, I felt like I was catching up with an old friend. Vicky has made The Garden Salon a lovely quiet retreat, gorgeous decor, with the regal resident bission-frisées snuggled in her bed, and Ezra the Main-Coon is definitely the salon’s Prince! Vicky starts every appointment with a full consultation, what do you like?, what don’t you like? and what are you wanting to achieve? She is honest with her advice, and I believe she wants you to feel the very best you can, both after your appointment and at home when maintaining your style yourself. For the last 12 months, Vicky has regularly restyled, cut and coloured both mine and my 3 daughter’s ( all long hair, age 16, 20 and 22) hair. Throw ADHD, ASD, Eczema into the mix too, trips to the hairdresser literally used to make me pull my hair out! Well no more, walking through the gate to the salon brings a sense of calm, knowing I will walk back through a couple of hours later, feeling lighter, happier , and most importantly a little bit better about myself. Vicky really puts a lot of time, care and love into her work. I felt listened to during our consultation chat, and at the same time she shared her own thoughts and expertise on what colours would work best with my fine hair, which I really appreciated. I was really, really happy with the results- my hair looks so much more natural and healthy now, and the cut has made it look much thicker. Had my first appointment at the lovely new salon today, which is only 5 mins more in the car and has such easy parking. I'm notoriously bad at self care, and the ladies are just brilliant at making me feel relaxed - and I'm so bloomin' chuffed with my hair! Charlotte did my cut and colour. So natural and everything I'd hoped for, again. Freya did my wash and blow-dry, and added some lovely curls as a bonus, too. I hate too hot water or driers, and Freya honestly gave the best wash, scalp massage, condition and dry I've ever had. She really listened to what I wanted. Hubby has no choice but to take my new hair out for dinner now! Thanks so much, ladies.

JAPANESE HAIR SPA ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Today I tried something new, Deva's new Japanese Hair Spa, and it was the most incredible experience. Sally was very knowledgeable and I felt relaxed instantly. The treatment inc. an anti aging facial and massage plus my hair and scalp have never felt so clean but norished at the same time. Would 100% recommend this new treatment. I felt the salon feeling like I was floating ☁️☁️

I really love Sally. Not only is she an excellent stylist but a smashing person too. She is down to earth and kind and I look forward to seeing her every time. Now in her beautiful new Gillingham salon it's even more of a treat to visit her Highly recommended

Sally is an incredible stylist and wonderful person. I love how she colours and cuts my hair. I also took my 6 year old granddaughter (who has thick wavy hair) for a proper salon experience. Sally treated her like a princess and listened to what she wanted. Wow, her hair was transformed, my granddaughter was left feeling on top of the world and is so excited to show everyone her beautiful hair.

I am really impressed with this nail salon. It was my first visit and I didn't know what to expect, I chose it randomly as my regular beautician was fully booked. They fit me in the next day in the morning, which I was very pleased with. They were friendly and my nails were done quickly and to perfection! Highly recommend!! I will definitely be coming back in the future.

Best manicure and pedicure I've ever had! The gents diligence on attention to detail and care was second to none. They also do builder gel which gave the most natural looking nails I've ever had, shaped perfectly! Ideal for strengthening & growing out natural nails, and for those who need a bit of strength to protect nails on keyboard. Huge selection of colours to choose from. Super lovely staff, wish everywhere was like this!

Her skill is incredible and she created exactly what i'd pictured in my head. She's so friendly and did an incredible job on my maid of honours hair as well! 100% would recommend!!

I've been going to Katie Burrows-Kerr for years now and she always does an amazing job. I love the way I feel when I leave the salon, even if it's just from a simple trim. I had my first salon colour last time (previously always home dyed) and I was so happy with the end result, my hair was so vibrant and shiny as well as being super soft! The atmosphere in the salon is always really friendly. I find going into some salons quite intimidating but everyone at MeraKi is so welcoming.

I’ve been going to Meraki for the past couple of years and have always left with dream hair, confidence and a spring in my step. I’ve had styles by Lily, Daisy and Emma and have always been super happy with my hair. I work away but drove 5 hours because I rate this salon this much. Got my hair cut here by Abi yesterday and all I can say is wow. The salon is such a nice welcoming space, very clean with lovely details and lots of natural light. Abi spent the most time on a consultation of any hair professional I've ever met and as a result my hair is EXACTLY how I wanted it to look. I've left salons before feeling like the stylist just did what they wanted - this was the opposite. Abi checked in with me throughout and explained what steps she was taking and why. It felt like a process I was a part of and I left the salon feeling confident - and got compliments on my hair when I went out last night! Will definitely be getting my hair cut here in future. Every aspect of the experience is thoughtfully curated, from the calming scent of essential oils that greets you at the door to the beautiful décor and earth-conscious hair products. Abi provided the most detailed consultation I’ve ever experienced! It’s rare to find a stylist who truly listens and offers thoughtful suggestions. She completely understood what I wanted and did an exceptional job cutting and styling my hair. It's such a relief to find someone to work with my hair texture, rather than against it! This place is truly a gem. I can't wait to return for another luxurious experience!

I book in to have my hair done with jade as she does amazing things when colouring my hair to blonde. The staff here are always lovely and welcoming. Offer a drink and biscuits which is lovely. Always smells great in here and has a lovely atmosphere. Really enjoy driving out this way from Blandford to have my hair done.
