I have worked at Big Fish Tutors Edgware for 4 months teaching a Year 5 class and I can confidently say that my experience has been great. The smaller class sizes ensure that tutors are able to give all students equal attention so they receive all of the support they need. The teaching style at Big Fish Tutors is unique as all lesson plans go into detail for every topic that the students learn for the week so that sufficient time is dedicated to teaching the content and students have the time to complete tasks independently and ask questions if they need further support. The students’ understanding is further enhanced during test week where they have the opportunity to display their knowledge. Test week is not only beneficial to students but also to the parents as they are able to recognise areas in which their child has a good understanding and areas that require more attention. Across the 4 months that I have been teaching at Big Fish Tutors I have seen firsthand how two of my students have grown more confident in their mathematical skills. I had given the students some extra support during lessons and I can say that it is deeply rewarding seeing these students not only becoming more confident in their mathematical skills but also becoming more outgoing in lessons. I would highly recommend Big Fish Tutors to other parents who wish to build their child’s confidence and widen their understanding of Maths and English topics that are taught in the curriculum. My daughter has been going to Big Fish for reception classes and she absolutely loves it. If we had to tell her she is going to learn to 2 hours she would outright say no. I've been a tutor at Big Fish for nearly a year, and my experience has been amazing. Some of the biggest highlights for me have been seeing my students thrive in their tests and witnessing parents' satisfaction with their children's progress. I currently teach Year 9, Year 7, and Year 6 classes, and watching my Year 9 students improve since I started with them in March has been especially rewarding. Test Week is a crucial part of the learning process, allowing students to reflect on their efforts and giving me a clear indication of any gaps in their knowledge.
