Fantastic food and service today. Table of 7 celebrating Mother's day. Venue is lovely, great setting and great suite layout and decor. Table layout was fab, with gifts for the Mums etc. We will be back :) Staff very friendly and attentive. No rush to vacate. Fantastic time all round. Well done to everyone.

We recently held a lunch party here with the carvery, fantastic food and service. All our guests loved it.

Had my 60th birthday celebrations here, and it was an unforgettable experience. Facilities and food excellent, the staff attentive without being intrusive. Would happily have another landmark occasion here!

Attended a Wedding Fayre. Offered a set of 4 packages to choose from. Event planner was knowledgeable, professional and helpful. Grounds looked nice and well kept. Good choice of areas on site for wedding photos. Location is quite remote, but fairly easy to find.

Essendon Country Club near Hatfield has Two lovely Golf courses to play on The Old & The New course has two greens per hole thats 36 greens on one course truly amazing options and has a very nice clubhouse with great food and welcoming staff , Mark aka The Friendly Gardener 😃

Essendon NEW is over 6000 yards off the yellows a very mature tree lined parkland course with an easy undulating fairway walk, dogleg holes, fairway bunkers & water hazards therefore course management comes into play with true undulating greens. The greens, fairways & bunkers were all in good condition but the 2nd cut was punishing due to the thickness. There was several long par 4’s. So if you’re a short hitter like me you will struggle to get there in 2.The driving range was a very long distance from the 1st tee with about 10 bays & prices. I would recommend using the large driving net next to the starter’s hut, with the practise putting chipping green & bunkers next door .Great Club house, friendly staff but service very slow. Overall a very good course will definitely play it again and worth a visit. I went on a corporate day, otherwise a bit prices @ £60 during the weekday look for a deal?

Went here for a Christian staff were very good venue was nice great views of the golf course which meant the was loads of places for photos

This is a great practice facility, everything you could want apart from a putting green on the site - very much recommended to spend some time here pre round.

Superb practice facility. 12 bays, with new srixon balls, 2 huge greens for chipping and pitching. Top quality bunkers around both greens. You can become a member of Brocket Hall or just be a member of the academy, either way it is members only.

Would recommend a visit here to anyone. Really enjoyed this course! Had a great last 5 holes coming home. The holes(15,16,17) in the trees are very picturesque! Playing off yellows makes the first couple holes very short. I think it is worth playing off the whites here, we changed to whites after a couple holes. Genuinely was surprised at how good it was. Greens ran true and fairly quick, Fairways were hard, but not in a bad way, greens were receptive, tee boxes were level, 2nd cut rough was very long! But as it wasn’t a long course I appreciated having to keep it straight off the tee. Bunkers around greens were good condition. But fairway bunkers had a few larger rocks in it. I like the long grass lining the bunkers. Is a nice look. Overall it’s a great course for the price. I will be visiting back here soon without a doubt.

Played today with my son. Perfect mix of holes and challenges. Staff very helpful and polite. Greens and fairways as good as played this year. Thinking of joining

Very nice golf club. Staff throughout are very friendly and welcoming. Course is challenging with lots of water hazards. A few tight fairways which keep you concentrating. Real sand in all the bunkers which makes a change from a lot of clubs now. Fairways were a bit dry, could of done with a good watering or rain. Greens are really good well kept and very fast when we were here. Tees and greens were well watered. There was one hole on the back 9 (can't remember what number) which is very near to a sewage plant. If the winds blowing the wrong way then you get an awful stench 🤢 Good food menu, and good choice of drinks, however, the Guinness was off for our visit ☹️. Would definitely play here again.

Very nice society day at Mid Herts. Considering the time of year (16 Nov) and recent rain the course was in good condition. Reception was friendly and welcoming with a well stocked bar. Food was excellent, pie and mash, perfect after a damp round.

A warm welcome with good service and tasty food. Course has some interesting and excellent holes and a few very plain ones. A bit more time on course presentation including definition of cuts, along with faster summer greens would make this 5*. However, it is well experiencing this track :)

A really lovely course. A very warm welcome on arrival and a detailed explanation of the course before we set out. Given the heavy rain the last few days and the fact most courses in the area were shut I was amazed at the quality of the course. The greens were brilliant and fairways too. It can feel like a quite compact course at times, some of the tee boxes are very close to the greens which require accurate approach shots as they are refreshingly petit. A thoroughly great course definitely worth seeking out if you are within an hour or so.

So, it was the venue we used for a surprise party for a childhood friend. The venue was recommended by one of us who had visited before and enjoyed her experience there. Initially getting to book the room, tie down the date and time as well as make payment was a little struggle. They were unavailable to answer our queries due to staffing issues. At the time, someone was off sick and they were short-staffed. Once this was resolved it was smooth sailing all the way. We booked the date, time, room, and then made payments. Got confirmation of the booking. Sorted out the menu options for our guests, the layout of the room and decorations and colour scheme and that was it really! We did not need to do anything they took care of it. On the day, we arrived to see a beautifully decorated room. The staff went over and beyond our expectations. They were courteous and professional, and so helpful, we were all blown away! The surprise was a success and we had so much fun! The end was lovely. They cleared up after us and helped us pack our stuff into the cars. My friends and I were impressed with the exceptional service we received. The food was so lovely, we all enjoyed it. Even though we were running late,(it was difficult to get the celebrant out of the house 😅) the chef and staff were very understanding and accommodating. The meal time was pushed back 30 minutes and then forward 15 minutes because of the surprise time and the celebrant! They accommodated us effortlessly! Amazing 👏 service. I have a wedding planner friend whom I will be bringing back to this venue so she can add them to her list of lovely venues for parties and weddings in London. Thank you to all the team who worked brilliantly to make our friend's 50th birthday surprise party memorable. We are so grateful to have used this place. I am definitely going back there again!

First time at the club today. Taken here by my 82 year old neighbour, who is a member here. Ain't played for 20 years lol Tried driving range, putting green, was welcomed by, professional, friendly staff, had a cup of tea at the bar, watched Olympics, lovely place to be. Definitely going back, will review food and try a round of golf ⛳️ Easy parking, disabled access, beautiful surroundings. Highly recommend so far, update ASAP.

The Hertfordshire is a course set around a converted country estate and for which from speaking to members some course changes are in the plans. It has a driving range and practice putting area with some nice slopes across the putting green to test your green reading. It is reasonably well maintained with some very pleasant looking holes playing across water. The biggest challenge however is its tests of driving accuracy being cut amongst some very well established tree lines giving what appears to be from the tee, some very tight angles. When i played it, it was in good condition even though i understand that the club has recently lost its head green keeper. The fairways had good coverage and the greens were consistent which as a weekend golfer is all I'm really after. There doesn't appear to be much in the way of fairway sprinklers though as when i played it was drying out as can be seen in the pictures. It does look a bit tatty around some of the tees as there were no tee or rubbish bins meaning that there were a lot of broken tees lying around. Also there were no ball washers which to my mind shows a more corporate rather than golfer friendly mindset. However this didn't affect the playability of the course and some of my balls enjoyed a good soaking in the water hazards anyway. Whilst I really liked the aesthetics of the course it is quite challenging hence the slope rating with very tight drives and punishing rough. It's a course I'd very happily play again which is ultimately all that matters.

A wedding anniversary celebration was held there. The food was excellent and the facilities were top class.

Great course well looked after in excellent condition have quite a few long holes would go back again.

Great sports centre...went to new padel centre and saw nice manager...

This is a nice course with some interesting holes. The greens were pretty consistent and reasonably quick. Bunkers were the only let down (and I went in 7, so I'm in a position to comment!).

An extremely pleasant location nestled near to the very heart of St Albans.. a delight to walk around and take in the pristinely kept softly undulating grounds.. Sparsely populated with other folk, the odd dog walkers etc make this a beautifully peaceful place to embark on a little escapism..

Serene environment for long walks in any direction from the centralised free parking, all within a 2 mile radius. Apart from the muddy patches in the forested area (to be expected in this season), the area is very easy to manoeuvre overall

Excellent pro shop, with friendly service. Fantastic 18 hole course, well kept fairways and immaculate greens. By the time our round finished in the evening the kitchen was unfortunately closed. Looking forward to the next visit with an earlier tee time to make the kitchen. Highly recommended.
