Nicks a brilliant coach! Very good at explaining the golf swing in a simple manner and provides great feedback and drills for you to work on!

Being an Older golfer Nick listens to to my limitations and what I personally am trying to do . It's not all drill drill which I find doesn't benefit me . Very patient and relaxed gives his thoughts and advice calmly. Worth a visit.

Great tuition from Nick either in person or via email. Received a few lessons last winter to help me work on a few things for summer golf trip and it helped me tremendously to feel comfortable with what I was doing. Doesn’t talk in riddles and explains process simply.

Had a few hours to kill, so stopped off to hit a couple of balls at the lovely driving range. Unfortunately I didn't have my clubs with me. Spoke to one of the staff. Well what can I say. What a fantastic team. Sorted me out good and proper. The golf course looked amazing. If only I lived closer I would definitely go and play

Great yet challenging course. Good condition, green fairly undulated, great club house and a lovely bar / patio area overlooking the 18th hole. All-in-all well worth the trip there.

What a great parkland course. I have lots of positives about this course. The course is in excellent condition, especially for this time of the year. The green keepers have done a superb job. The course was tidy, there was no litter, the greens ran true and the tee boxes were pristine. The course is a joy to play, and this has clearly been designed to the highest standards. I didn't find it tough but it was a pleasure and i would return as every hole was different. Also the course played well, there was a good variety of par 3, 4 and 5's around the course. The ending hole is one of the best in the UK. After a big drive i decided to go for the green and take on the lake in 2 , luckily i did and almost sunk my eagle putt. If you like parkland and water hazards then this course is for you. I thought was very good value for money and i am giving it a 5 start rating.

Hi. I unfairly reviewed this as 3 star. It’s a lovely place to spend and afternoon golfing. The facilities are first class, great range and chipping area. I’d played the London club the day before and the greens were much faster. But brocket was in the best condition it’s has even been in and will only get better. Look forward to the Palmerston soon.

Still one of the best Hertfordshire courses. Played the Melbourne and in surprisingly good condition.

This is a great practice facility, everything you could want apart from a putting green on the site - very much recommended to spend some time here pre round.

First time playing since new ownership. Really friendly reception and the great addition of a bar. It’s a great course for a relaxed round of golf at a reasonable price. A good range of food is offered in the cafe.

Wheathampstead Golf Course is a true hidden gem. Visited today, The course itself is well-maintained and offers a fun yet challenging round for golfers of all levels. What really sets it apart, though, is the outstanding hospitality. The staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always go the extra mile to ensure a great experience. The clubhouse serves fantastic food—fresh, hearty, and perfect after a day on the course. Whether you're there for the golf or just a good meal in a relaxed setting, it's well worth a visit.

Great little golf club, went a couple Sundays back and the owner was kind enough to give us some free pizza. Well kept, fun course

Had some fantastic pizzas in the sunshine today. Sat in peaceful surroundings. Available Wednesday to Sunday. Highly recommend this local gem.

Had a wonderful experience at Redbourn on Saturday having not been there for years. The range is amazing now! The guys in the shop were so kind and lent my 5 year old some clubs to use. Paula in the resteraunt still there and lovely as I remember! I can’t wait to return a lot more regularly!

We booked in here today for the Easter Roast ( 5 adults and 3 babies) and we all agreed it was the best roast dinner we've had out for a very long time. Not only was the food outstanding, the friendly service, the setting and value for money was exceptional. Thank you so much for our Easter Chocolates. We will be going back soon and can highly recommend this restaurant.

Played there today as part of an organisers day. Played many times before but this day was outstanding. Couldn’t have been welcomed more and nothing was too much trouble. The course was in excellent condition considering we’d have days of rain. It’s a challenging play and enough to keep you interested. The staff looked after us exceedingly well (especially Ben) from start to end, whereby we had a delicious dinner to finish. Very positive experience. Give it a go 👍🏻

Essendon Country Club near Hatfield has Two lovely Golf courses to play on The Old & The New course has two greens per hole thats 36 greens on one course truly amazing options and has a very nice clubhouse with great food and welcoming staff , Mark aka The Friendly Gardener 😃

Essendon NEW is over 6000 yards off the yellows a very mature tree lined parkland course with an easy undulating fairway walk, dogleg holes, fairway bunkers & water hazards therefore course management comes into play with true undulating greens. The greens, fairways & bunkers were all in good condition but the 2nd cut was punishing due to the thickness. There was several long par 4’s. So if you’re a short hitter like me you will struggle to get there in 2.The driving range was a very long distance from the 1st tee with about 10 bays & prices. I would recommend using the large driving net next to the starter’s hut, with the practise putting chipping green & bunkers next door .Great Club house, friendly staff but service very slow. Overall a very good course will definitely play it again and worth a visit. I went on a corporate day, otherwise a bit prices @ £60 during the weekday look for a deal?

Afternoon Tea. Great service, great food, great venue! For a 21st birthday celebration. Only 4 of us but it was lovely. A glass of bubbly and an extra dessert for the birthday boy and two of the staff came and sang happy birthday with us. The selection of teas was brilliant. Answered all questions. Extremely friendly people. Would highly recommend and well done Centurion for having such lovely staff. Well worth the visit!

I have been many times for lunch or dinner and its always fantastic. Brilliant food and great service. The best restaurant in the area, great views, very friendly staff and its a lovely place to relax for a couple of hours.

I was really quite surprised with the location of this course. I traveled through a really busy Watford town center, turned a couple of corners and then find the course tucked behind a residential estate. However having arrived at the clubhouse it feels miles from anywhere, and was really quiet to play on. The club house was really clean and well maintained. Following the path around behind the club towards the pro shop and first tee you pass a really expansive putting green and a smaller chipping area. I played using a discount voucher so thought it great value but I'm not sure if the standard pay and play fee is such a good deal. I arrived a bit late so didn't have time to use the practice range but managed to hit a few balls in the practice nets before having a quick putt. The putting green gave a good indication of the greens in general and although they were a bit slower than I'm used to they were true with and in good condition providing a consistent roll. The course itself is a friendly parkland course with pretty much all the holes playing as you see them with not too many challenges. The whole course is tree lined with some scrub in places causing the odd lost ball. The fairways are actually all pretty wide and were in a great condition (and just for a change i managed to hit most of them!). As for the greens they were all fairly friendly with not too many challenging pin placements or horrible breaks to contend with. The best hole for me was the short par 4 8th which runs down hill towards a dip on the left with trees on the right. Not being a big hitter it gave me a nice lay up approach wood for a pitch onto the green. The only hole to let the course down was the 16th which is a par 3 playing a blind shot down to a cratered green over a well placed marker. It has a very generous landing area and despite having shot my approach well right of target, I was still left with a greenside pitch onto the putting surface having expected to be in the rough. Overall a very nice course not overly challenging. Probably the best thing was at the end of the day having finished and being able to see the members and juniors making the most of the practice area. Clearly a family friendly club with good facilities and a course that would suit most golfers and as of this moment in great condition.

Great course for all playing abilities. It’s well run and the course is always in great condition. Played as a junior member and still come back to visit and play.

Lovely course. Very well kept fairways beautifully manicured. Greens are fantastic, well looked after and run true. Lovely scenery as you make your way round the course. Quite hilly but lots of buggies on offer. Very friendly and helpful staff in the pro shop. Bar staff are very welcoming, a good choice of beers and spirits. Decent food menue. Looking forward to coming back again in the near future.
