“A great round of golf. This parkland course was challenging (slope 127 off the yellows) beautifully kept and in super condition. The tee boxes were pristine, the greens very tricky and very fast. The fairways were wide and sand in the bunkers soft and fluffy. No streams or ponds or any water hazards - what's not to like?? Additionally staff in the Pro Shop and bar were friendly and welcoming. The bar food was substantial, well presented and very reasonable. We will return.”

“This course is easily one of the best in Hampshire its playable all year round due to it having great drainage and being based on chalk. The greens are in prefect condition all year round, much needed development is happening and its making the course stunning to look at aswell as to play. The club is very welcoming and has a very mixed age group with great attention payed to younger players to get them into golf. I also got married at the club and every part of the day was so well organised and put together. Test valley really is a great club.”

“Had a lovely time at Old Thorns for a couples Spa weekend. The Spa itself is very clean and well run, and the facilities are also great from pools to the saunas and steam rooms. The hotel staff are great and the rooms are not bad, despite a bit of damp we noticed. Overall our experience was good, not rating a 5 as we found the Hotel food in the Kings Restaurant to be very bland, underwhelming and very few menu options, specifically dinner. Breakfast was pretty good. In saying that, do try out the sports bar and Oties, a lot more food options but not the cheapest.”

“Great hotel and Golf Courses! Stayed here in October with a group of golfers and had a great time. Extremely welcoming and helpful staff who really looked after our group on an Autumn Sunday evening. 3 challenging groups of 9 holes with different characteristics so both the rounds we played felt different. Overall a great break.”

“Cool layout which has lots of dog legs and undulation changes etc. It's the sort of course which I don't think would get boring. Theres some great views all the way round and proper length par 3's over 200 (off the whites) with good water hazards. The standard of the course, speed of greens and just general feel of the place is really good considering what we payed. Highly reccomend.”

“First time playing here and I wasn't disappointed! Course was in good condition, but I could see it suffering in winter with being wet. But for the end of September after a wet summer down pour the greens were nice and quick and were a nice challenge! Would definatly recommend and will come back and play again!”
