We had Scott booked in for a job to replace our flooring on our ground floor. He showed up on the day agreed and done a magnificent job. He also came across some damp within our living room to which he repaired at a fair price. He had his son working alongside him who was also very keen and knowledgeable, both were polite and friendly. 10/10 service, will defiantly use again.

Charlie carried out a TV installation for us. Very happy with the service.

SAS Carpentry & Building renovated two external bin stores which included replacement of the doors and repointing. The works were carried out to a high standard and have transformed what were tired and dilapidated bin stores. Would highly recommend Scott and his team.

We had SAS carry out an extension for us in Harpenden, him and his team carried out an outstanding job from start to finish. We had 5 Quotations from different builders and by far Scott was the one we felt the most comfortable with and his pricing was very reasonable. We are going to use him again to install a summer house in our garden next spring. 8/5!

Michael has done a range of jobs for us over the last year. Most recently he overhauled our wardrobes, part of which meant making new bespoke doors with beading and insetting some paper we’d picked up. Really tidy work, and always a reliable friendly service.

Alcove Media Unit - Apr-24: Fantastic job and highly recommend. Igor is a very good carpenter and built our alcove unit to the left side of our fireplace, housing our cat 6 networking and media devices. The build was finished to a high standard, and provided very good value for money. I think one of the real strengths is Igor’s communication & attention to detail throughout, discussing different options for materials / finishes & taking time with measuring to support accurate quoting upfront, as well as providing updates throughout the build and prior to install. I just need to finish the rest of the fireplace now! Excellent service, thank you again Igor and will definitely be in touch again for future projects!

Ryan and Sean fitted some bespoke wardrobes for us in April 2025. It was a tricky space with a slanted ceiling and a window to contend with but Ryan was not phased at all and came up with a great solution. Communication at every stage was excellent and fitting day was seamless. Ryan and Sean are a dream team and a pleasure to have in your home. Will certainly be having them back for some other bespoke furniture creations!

I couldn’t recommend The London Craftsman more. Ryan and his team live up to their name... they are true craftsmen! The alcove units exceeded all expectations, and I can honestly say they are the highlight of my house refurb. He made the whole process so easy and enjoyable. The quality, build and finish of the work is exceptional. If I could give six stars I would!

Top quality bespoke alcove shelving unit and under-stairs drawers/cabinet. Ryan was always polite and helpful. He advised us on the design. All the construction was done offsite at his workshop. He then fitted with his colleague in a day and a half. Very happy with the attention to detail, would definitely use him again.

Tim has transformed a cluttered space, designing and building bespoke display cabinets, under-eaves storage, and book, CD and DVD shelving. He listened to what we were trying to achieve and provided designs, enhancements and work-arounds to issues found along the way that more than fulfilled our original brief. Tim is a consummate craftsman. He has an excellent eye for detail and style. We largely left the design elements of the bespoke furniture he made for us up to him. All of his suggestions were great and we are delighted with the final result of everything he has made. He is friendly, polite and punctual, and leaves the work area spotlessly clean when he is finished. The quality of his work is exceptional and we couldn’t recommend him highly enough.

He's complete work ranging from basic installations, all the way to project managing entire site refurbishments and fit-outs. He has constantly been professional, efficient, tidy and provided good value for money, and we would now only consider Ally for any of our carpentry requirements.

The following review is quite long and detailed, but it's worth a read since this time last year I had never met or heard of Paul and between then and now he completed a large project for me across the second half of 2024 and I could not be happier with his work! I bought a detached 3-bed house in May 2024 that was a real "fixer-upper", built in the 1980s. The plan was to start work ASAP, take 6 months or so to renovate the property and move in with my family by Christmas. There were many challenges along the way, but ultimately this happened on budget and on time and we were able to host our first Christmas in our new family home! This was achieved due to Paul's technical skills, project management ability, his incredible work ethic (absolute grafter), his punctuality and reliability, his loyalty (detailed below) and ultimately his sheer motivation to deliver quality and value to his customer. Paul quoted for the job which involved the following: * Fully gutting and renovating a 3 bed detached house (removing walls, replacing all floorboards etc) * A complex double garage conversion into living space, a utility room and bathroom * Fitting a new kitchen * another new bathroom and plenty more. Paul came highly recommended to me by my Electrician who also worked on the project. He is multi-skilled and can take on pretty much any task, but he is also an excellent project manager and delegator to skilled tradesmen. Throughout the project, Paul brought on board his trusted labourers as and when required, as well as a plumber, tiler, plasterer and some niche contractors too, all of whom I met and could see had a high level of skill and a solid work ethic. Paul also worked effectively with a kitchen design consultancy that I had brought on board due to the awkward shape and specific requirements. As with any project, there were plenty of challenges - some that were outside of our control and one or two due to frustrating attitudes from people I had brought on board who failed to live up to expectations (I will not name and shame, but I will not use again or recommend them). Paul stuck with me through a period of frustrating delays due to others and persevered through this challenging period of the project where others would simply have looked out for themselves and up and left. I was kept in the loop daily and we met on site once or twice most week when I could get there. I recommend Paul with zero hesitation for any large project or small job and I will certainly be using his services again!

We are exceptionally grateful for the works undertaken by Paul at our property. Paul is definitely a quality craftsman with an eye for detail. Paul built a frame and erected new sliding doors for our recently installed ensuitean and installed new spindles, handrails and caps on our staircase. It was the little features like returns which was so impressive! Nothing appeared too much trouble for Paul with his aim to fully satisfy the customer. We have already commissioned Paul to undertake further works at our property. Paul more than justifies his 5* rating.

Probably the most organised person I’ve met, knows exactly what’s happening and when. A delight to work with and did a massive kitchen transition first for us 2 years ago (this is a photo of the kitchen 2 years on) and then installed recently a beautiful fitted wardrobe. We love the result. Has a great team to help with the other bits too (particularly Alan and Mark). For the kitchen we were swapping our kitchen and dining rooms over. Had a lot of ‘old house’ hiccups along the way which he handled brilliantly. Highly, highly recommend.

We were looking to turn one of our rooms into an office/library. We not only used Adam to design and make the fitted bookshelves (fantastic, beautiful pieces of furniture) but he also project managed the entire works, liaising with plasterers, electricians, plumbers and decorators. We are absolutely delighted with the finished job. At all stages Adam was calm, in control, super easy to communicate with, and all the people involved were punctual , courteous and tidy. The quality of work was terrific. Overall, we are very pleased indeed and we will definitely ask Adam to do further projects for us.

We contacted A H Carpenters when we were in the market for a new kitchen. They were hands on throughout the entire process. Initially providing a professional design service to help us visualise our dream kitchen. This helped us greatly and their recommendations on fixtures and fittings were top notch. We commissioned Adam and his team to make a built in cupboard and some floating shelves for our living room. Our experience was good and the whole process from first speaking with Vicky to installation was less than 3 weeks. They were professional, friendly, timely and the carpentry was high quality.
