What a lovely place! It was like walking into a comfortable cosy sitting room. The cakes were amazing. Everything excellent and served up by lovely, friendly staff. The hot chocolate was like a starter! Will be back.

From the moment we arrived, the warm, homely atmosphere set the tone — think low ceilings, wooden beams, and all the charm you'd expect from a beautifully preserved old-world pub. It felt like stepping into a cosy time capsule, perfect for a relaxing afternoon with friends. The cream tea itself was nothing short of delicious. The scones were fresh and fluffy, with jam and cream. The cakes were wonderfully light and full of flavour — clearly homemade and baked with care. One unexpected highlight was the homemade Scotch egg — crispy on the outside, rich and savoury within. A real treat! The sandwich selection was varied, and the whole thing was very reasonably priced, with something to suit every taste. Refills of tea and coffee were offered without hesitation, which kept the conversation flowing for the full three hours we spent there. It was the kind of place where time just drifts by — a true hidden treasure and a perfect setting for catching up with friends. Highly recommended if you're after a traditional, satisfying, and unhurried afternoon tea experience.

Pleasant on every level. Polite courteous Staff, great choice of Coffee, well presented in traditional China. Delicious cakes, soup of the day, thick crusty bread, butter you can spread. Well done keep up the high standard. We have our go to place delicious .

Went here today for the first time , what a lovely old pub turned into a tea room , this family run business is fantastic and the welcome you get is amazing what nice friendly people . The food is excellent and the tea and cake perfect , made my day an absolute gem thankyou .
