San Angelo

P: 01274 597583

Rating: 4.7 (453) Price Level:

I'm in the process of moving next door to San Angelo. I went round to my new place last night and realised that I had no food or equipment in. Luckily I managed to make a last minute reservation here and had a wonderful risotto with a few nice drinks. Really friendly staff, great service and tasty food. Even when I move in properly and can cook for myself, I'll keep coming back to here.

--- I recently had the pleasure of dining at San Angelo for the first time and it was truly a delightful experience! From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the tone for a wonderful evening. The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home. As for the food, every dish was a masterpiece the starter of prawns in garlic butter was amazing and the main course, pollo San angelo and beef medallions was absolutely incredible – one of the best we have had! My husband and I was highly impressed. Overall, San Angelo offers a perfect blend of traditional Italian flavors and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend this gem for anyone looking to enjoy an authentic Italian dining experience. I will definitely be back! ---

Great place. Made an 80th birthday family dinner a lovely evening. Food was delicious, service was great and a lovely atmosphere and reasonably priced. I loved how they have been the only place I've known to purposely bring children's sized cutlery to the table, a small thing but shows the attention to their customers.

A really nice place to eat. Would recommend, and would also recommend booking too as it got really busy whilst we were there. Food was a reasonable price and 3 out of the 4 in our party really enjoyed the food. Unfortunately the seafood pasta wasn't very diverse with seafood and was predominantly mussels. That, and the fact that the menu is pretty extensive and a bit overbearing was the reason I dropped a star. But these could both be considered subjective to be fair.

Had a brilliant night last night! Fantastic food, massive portions, service is top notch, you feel like you’re being welcomed into a family, and the staff have personality! Super friendly. We had a birthday which they celebrated wonderfully, just top notch. Will be back again soon. Just book in advance as they are understandably busy!

Valentinos is a decent Italian restaurant but not the best in the area . The food was OK, the anti pasta was tasty and enough to share . My rack of lamb was cooked as requested but had a strange sauce which was more like a gravy . The calzone was good . Also the ravioli was OK but not enough prawns . If your in Bingley I would recommend eating at Valentinos .

Had a lovely meal with my sister and elderly parents last night, great atmosphere we never felt rushed even though we were just having mains and a glass of wine. Food was excellent and very reasonable especially as our parents were paying 😀 if I had to find anything to be unhappy about and it was more for my sister, who is celiac there wasn't any gluten free bread and she had to watch us 3 devour a basket of the most divine Italian bread.

Rating: 4.4 (1155) Price Level:

Staff were really friendly and accommodating. I'm not one for getting pub classics, but the steak pie was absolutely fantastic. The starters were just as good fresh sides with the homemade tortilla chips and an eye-watering scotch egg. Worth every penny and more, we shall definitely be praising this establishment.

A beautiful dog friendly pub with good beer and cozy vibes. Can be busy at times, which goes to show how popular it is. They take large groups for food and also have smaller tables. I didn't eat here but the food looked good that others were having! I'll have to come back.

We went on a cold wet evening so we sat inside. The food was so good, really huge portions. I had the beef pie and I was stuffed. My kids didn't even want pudding 'cos they were so full 😅 Beer is excellent too, Service was great, the barman even made a custom fruit drink for my kid.

The Dick Hudsons

Bingley, Otley Rd, Ilkley BD16 3BA, UK | Pub
P: 01274 552121

Rating: 4.4 (1856) Price Level:

We came here as a family on a beautiful sunny day and we were not disappointed! The view was absolutely amazing from this pub and the food and drinks were equally as nice! Great place to come for a family meal and a bonus if you get to sit outside for a drink on a sunny day. For starters we shared the scotch egg, halloumi fries and chorizo sausage bites, they were all delicious washed down with my cocktail sat in the beer garden. For mains we both ordered the pan roasted lamb which was absolutely delicious and being a big lamb lover, I would find it hard to return and not order this again!! Our son ordered chicken nuggets and chips, surprise surprise, which he enjoyed. For dessert I had the sticky toffee pudding which is ALWAYS a winner in my eyes! My son ordered the trio of ice cream which was quickly devoured and my partner had the double chocolate brownie which he also swiftly polished off. The staff were friendly and the cocktails were good. I also much preferred our visit here to the Cow and Calf pub in Ilkley which is also a Vintage Inns pub with a very similar menu ( see my other post for that review on that ). We will definitely be returning at some point. My partner, myself and our little pooch stopped in for a meal this evening. We were greeted by Nicola who showed us to our table which was right next to the open fire. The food was served promptly and was delicious. Nicola was fantastic!, very friendly and polite and nothing was too much trouble for her! We will definitely be returning!

I revisited today after a previous visit on Monday 20th January . I chose to dine in rather than just have just a drink. The staff were friendly and helpful my drink (passion fruit cooler) was experly made by the bar lady and tasted amazing. On to the meal, the garlic mushroom starter was delicious, i thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Then came the main course, the rib eye steak with gravy, grilled tomatoes, chips and onion ring. Each bite was delightful, perfectly season and cooked to perfection. Finally there was the double chocolate brownie, topped with ice cream and chocolate sauce. It was like a miniature work of art, decadently delicious with every bite. Its safe to say that my visit was a resounding success and i'd rate the food and drink as a 10 out of 10. I will definitely visit again in the future.

Amazing lunch today! Food quality was of a very high standard, but HUGE portions so was unable to finish, but my god it was good! Nicola, our server, was a very cheerful and tentative, showing interest in us and no requests seemed to be an issue! Our table was nice and tucked away, giving us a proper little couples lunch, which we loved.... And it was dog friendly, so Cooper had a good day out and was supplied free snacks and water! Happy dog, happy house! All round, 5 out of 5! We will be dining there again and highly recommend!

I spent some quality time with my Brother. It was busy but the food was good not outstanding. The sweet was lovely better than the main. The waitress was a bit sharp but the manager was welcoming. The things which let this place down. The windows were filthy and the carpark was not fit for purpose. I had to park at the back in a gravel pit. No bays please invest in your infrastructure more. I am sure you are making enough money. It needs to be levelled off. Keep up the good work on the food but start looking at the bigger picture. Good 🤞.

Booth told me to give them 4* on the back of good service and honesty..I walked off without getting my £10+ change and they brought it over. Three real ales. Taylor's Landlord, an Ilkley Mary Jane and the one I took, Wishbone brewery Pale. A very good 4% beer. A good sized bar with a balcony floor above and rear outside seating. Quiet on our visit, a few glum looking Leeds fans in watching WBA v Leeds on TV. 0 - 0. There is also a pool table off to the side in its own space and two more upstairs where the toilets are located...apart from the accessible toilet. ..and as we leave we are hit with very loud music, hence dropping a *.

Me and my friends had a fantastic time at this pub, where the walls have a fancy design, especially the ones looking like they are on streets! Was up here for the Saltaire Festival, and this pub was just across the river. It's in an awesome location situated right next to the river and across from a field. Has a lovely outside area with plenty of seating. Staff were friendly and it has a good selection of drinks. They do sell food but I didn't eat here. It does have a little bit of the "chain pub" feel which i am not too keen on but that's more of a personal preference. I would come here more often if I lived in the area if for nothing else than the lovely sound of running water outside from a small nearby waterfall.

Visited The Boathouse with my daughter and granddaughter on a Tuesday afternoon . Difficult getting the pushchair down to entrance die to the stairs . If there was a slope entrance we did not see it . Once inside the staff were great . There's a really good choice of local beers including a couple of Timothy Taylors . Food wise I had the pork pie and mushy peas and we also had a caeser salad. Both very tasty . I recommend a visit to The Boathouse when you are next in Saltaire .

This is a local pub for us, as baildon residents. It's on its own out the village centre, which is perfect after maybe a walk on the Moor tops, or the Glen etc. Ideal stopping point. They often have entertainment on, they invite regular street food caterers as an ongoing theme, which are great. Staff always welcoming, and nice selection of ales and the usual! We have dropped in quite a bit since we've lived in baildon and would recommend to others, wether it's just opportunistic or your a resident too.

My friends and I visited the Old Glen House the first night I arrived in Leeds (I live in the US). The steak and ale pie was amazing, as was the apple/rhubarb dessert!!! (Truly the best beef pie I've ever had). We then travelled all the way to the Scottish Highlands for a week, eating at pubs and restaurants along the way. Out of our entire trip, The Old Glen House was the best food and had our favorite employees. They made us feel welcome in their home. I highly recommend the pies as well as the chicken burgers (My friend said it was the best he's ever eaten). Go to the Old Glen House! And while you're there, stroll down to the Old Glen in the woods just behind it. It's beautiful.

This ancient pub is now a brasserie but you can come in for drinks only with limited drinkers space in the bar area. A lovely interior. Booth told me to have Ossett brewery White Rat, one of two real ales. T'other being Black Sheep. Busy food trade at 5.15 on a Saturday. Large rear beer garden/courtyard for drinkers and families overlooking the river Aire. Probably less popular in bad weather but perfect on a good evening.

Booth making his first visit to Bingley. He decided to pop into Spoons for breakfast. This ex cinema is one of the smaller Wetherspoons and already doing a roaring trade at 11.30am. Had a simple small breakfast and a miners Benedict. Both did the job. The bar had a good choice of nine real ales. I had a fine pint of local Goose Eye brewery, Chinook, 4.2%. Booth a diet coke. Great value as always. Good service.
