Another five star for this amazing place. Never lets us down when we visit. Great food, good service and a roaring fire
Dropped in with no booking and offered a choice of tables. Staff were really friendly providing excellent service and, although 30 degrees outside it was lovely and cool inside. We ordered roast chicken and roast lamb as it was a Sunday menu and they were huge helpings. Food was beautifully cooked, massive Yorkshire puds, tender roast meat, real roast potatoes, fantastic mixture of veg (cabbage, carrot, peas, leeks and mange tout) and, best of all for me, lashings of really good tasty gravy. Good pub, good food, good staff, good service.
Great food generous portions. Nice atmosphere. roaring fire. We all had a fabulous meal. Pate dish was amazing and scampi/thin fries highly recommended Thanks
Genuinely friendly staff. Tasty food and lovely local ales. Great views from the beer garden/terrace and a smashing 9 fire inside. What's not to like?
George the owner is a star. Always cares about giving a great dining experience. Good good and service on New Years Eve. Also superb selection of local ales worth a visit alone
