Great golf course and all in good condition. The clubhouse feels fairly new and the food was really good. Our society visited on the hottest day of the year so far, but the course still played well. They missed a trick there by not getting one of their buggies and taking cold drinks out to all who were playing as we were suffering with the heat.

Very good staff all round . We play most weeks , great course only snag is the rough (to long & to much ) . The greens are always in great shape , unfortunately I really struggle reading most putts , (but that's my problem) . Would recommend especially if you like a challenge.

Well Manicured course, challenging! A little oasis has to be seen ( played ) to believe it. Driving range, pro shop, lessons available, food and drinks available, buggy hire. Can be disrupted due to wet weather but course management and improvement programme in place and under repair

We recently had our wedding day at Blacknest and could not have asked for a better day! A lot of that was down to the amazing staff they have there, and a very special mention to Vicky and Georgia who brought everything together! The team went above and beyond to make everything we asked for happen and nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed it! We cannot thank Vicky and the team enough for everything they did! Vicky was also brilliant at explaining how everything would work and made sure the day ran smoothly! Thank you again everyone, I wish we could do it all again! ❤️

Today we had a family lunch at Blacknest Golf and Country Club, which was exceptionally nice. The staff were professional and attentive, the food was extremely nice and certainly tasted superb. Given the circumstances of the golf course renovation a real hidden gem well worth a visit. Mike S

Came in for lunch with my husband last month and it was amazing. We sat outside in the sun and had a glass of wine watching the world go by. Dave had the fish of the day (fish and chips) and I had the mushroom pasta. We shared some arancini also. The food and service was incredible and we will definitely be back soon!

Most stunning wedding venue around. Staff were amazing. Massive shout out to Vicky who helped me out as I was part of the bridal party. Everything was truly amazing. Rooms was clean and tidy. Food was brilliant and the location is stunning.

It is a nice club that is easily accessible to all. I visited towards the end of summer and found that the course was in great condition. Hence why it can get fairly busy here. A few one and two balls that played through and all were happy to chat and give advice. A fair bit of variation through the course that I enjoyed. Trackman driving range available, but we opted for the uncovered area for our little warm-up. Other activities for the family also. So if your partner does not play golf they can still be entertained.

Lovely course. Greens were in excellent condition and everything was very well looked after. Not too many hazards and no water, but in its place are some well placed tree lines, some sharp dog legs and challenging greens with some interesting undulations. Good little club house to have a drink after the game.

Was a Member here 2019 to 2022, loved it, Play a lot less now, but went back here for a round and the improvements are great, well done Worldham, it was good before but now it feels a level or 2 up, for a round in November, it’s was more than dry enough, the fairways are more defined now which we really liked. Gives it a feel of a better course. The greens are great. If you are thinking about playing here, do it! Great course and great value! I’ll be back more often now

A challenging, but we'll maintained course. Very busy even with early tee off times. Great little halfway house to restock on supplies. Some of the hole locations make putting a nightmare, be warned. The Range is cool, but not long enough to drive (unless you my mate Chris "Ladies Tees" Watt). Bunker, chip and putting practise area was well laid out.

Great hotel and Golf Courses! Stayed here in October with a group of golfers and had a great time. Extremely welcoming and helpful staff who really looked after our group on an Autumn Sunday evening. 3 challenging groups of 9 holes with different characteristics so both the rounds we played felt different. Overall a great break.

Fabulous place huge rooms, super comfy beds, very friendly helpful staff and beautiful grounds. Restaurant has excellent food, my poached eggs for breakfast were done to perfection.

Firstly I give a 5 if someone or a business goes the extra bit, Sandford Springs you have earned a 5 and well deserved. We booked for New Year’s Eve dinner & overnight stay. When we arrived checking in was very pleasant friendly welcoming staff on reception. We were given our room number and key card the receptionist said the cards will open either door, my wife and I were a bit confused but thought nothing of it. We entered the room to find large table, sofa, tv extra,but no bed? Then we entered the room properly and went through a pair of double doors to find the bedroom. WOW blown away they had given us the Wolverton Suite. Evening 4 course meal and service was fantastic well worth the trip. One little niggle as the hotel was full could of done with one more member of staff at breakfast as the two lads worked their socks off. Once again thank you too all the worked New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day magic start to 2025.

Booked for our ten year wedding anniversary and so glad we did! Team were really friendly and accommodating and left us a nice surprise and card in our room on arrival. Food is about normal prices but the portions are big so you definitely get value for money. The area and views were lovely and we chose this hotel specifically for the spa facilities and the location being about an hour or less from all major attractions. Would definitely recommend for couples, had a wonderful anniversary thank you !

Had a fantastic spa weekend at The Old Thorns Spa & Resort! The venue was absolutely lovely, with excellent spa facilities that made for a truly relaxing experience. The gym was impressively large—bigger than any other spa hotel I’ve visited before, which was a great bonus. The overall atmosphere was welcoming, and everything was well-maintained. I’ll definitely be coming back again! Highly recommend.

A beautiful hotel and lovely rooms. I got married here in April and stayed in one of the two bed apartments for two nights. The apartments have everything you need if you want to cook and the whole space was to a very good standard with beautiful views of the golf course. The dining facilities and the pool area are lovely (leisure facilities were busy on the weekend). Breakfast has a wide selection of food and staff are very welcoming and attentive. Great for a relaxing break and will certainly be back.

We checked in online via the link provided and arrived before the 3pm checkin to use the gym - room was ready so we where able to get to our room. Gym facilities are very good lots of space and equipment. The spa was busy but staff constantly checked numbers and after a very short wait we entered the spa and pool area steam room sauna hot beds and pool busy but no wait for anything. Free drink voucher to use in either bar and dinner at 7.45 nice relaxed well paced service. Breakfast was good plenty of choice and tasty. Room was excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend a Old Thorns package.

Played this lovely course on February 5th....it was in super nick, unbelievably dry and firm under foot, greens running true and excellent tee boxes. Certainly a hidden gem in Hampshire and great value for money!!

Great little golf club. It was very wet the day I played (see pic) but once I was out in the course it was clear that the drainage was overly good as I hardly spotted a puddle and play was really good. Except in the bunkers of course, but they were redoing them anyway, probably for this exact reason. Anyway, great facility and will be back. Good selection of beers in the clubhouse and Lasagne was plentiful and spot on after a wettish round of play. Highly recommend 👍

Amazing value for money, brilliant course the west is more interesting and slightly better condition but great venue and super friendly staff. Play it.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Golf Club, and I must say it exceeded all expectations. The course is beautifully maintained, offering both challenging holes and scenic views. What a fantastic team! A lovely birthday party, with good food and outstanding service! Credit where credit is due, the service is a hell of a lot better than when I use to work (customer facing lol) there! Well worth a visit or consideration for wedding/party venue, Aaron, Charlotte and (please forgive as I didn’t catch her name but she is in the pic) were incredible (both friendly and professional) and made the day feel even more special!

Lovely arrival up long drive. Accommodation widely spread on site so long walk from room to dining room, ok in summer but in cold and wet unpleasant. Upgraded room in main house was barren and soulless. Only one chair. No slippers or bath robes, toiletries in big containers you can't reach from bath. Mugs for coffee/tea dirty. Poor view of bins/work area. Staff very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Dining room cold, we asked to move away from big single glazed windows and service beyond slow, Food was delicious, thank you chefs. Food for conference less good and cold, Swimming pool awful. Downstairs, dull dingy, not inviting at all, had expected a really good spa area.

Nice place and very popular with weddings too, stayed here for 5 nights and thought it was ok. Stayed here for work bit disappointed with the food as not a great menu to be fair.

Stayed on the 19th of January 2024 following the tragic death and funeral of my 47 year-old brother. The stay was just what we needed and the staff at the hotel made it a really pleasurable stay for both the adults and the children. Beautiful, clean, well-equipped hotel. Lovely grounds and the mansion is gorgeous! The suite (room 201) we stayed in was both luxurious and well-equipped as well as spacious and nicely situated. The bathroom products are high quality and smell great and there was an excellent provision of water, tea, coffee etc. Wonderful customer service start to finish, especially from Kelly Norris and some lovely little goodies for the children who have also been through a lot this last few weeks in losing their uncle. They had big smiles start to finish and made some lovely memories. Food in The View is delicious. The shoulder of Beef was immense and the breakfast provided is second to none. Bar meals in Benedict’s were good too. Plenty on the menu for children and lots of space for them to explore as well as a good sized pool. Our children loved their stay so much our daughter made a thank you note. We really appreciated all the little touches to make our stay special and cannot fault the hotel or the staff. We will definitely be returning and if we weren’t married already, I would be suggesting we have our wedding there too. It’s really worth a visit!

Can’t thank you enough for a GREAT golf day last week - the course was in superb condition, especially considering that it had been under water not more than a few days before; then the catering and table decoration was absolutely spot-on - really made the birthday girl feel special!! Above & beyond the call of duty, as ever!! You made the day stress free & enjoyable for all of us, and for that I thank you very much.

Brilliant course for anyone new to golf like me

I play there quite often . It's a great place for golfers that play 18 hole full size courses. I do not use tees that way it's like playing off the fairway so your practicing approach shots to the greens and when you miss the green you get to practice your pitch /chipping shots . I like to play 2 rounds . For seniors it's only £5.30 per round and there is also a driving range .

We did (or rather my husband did) play the par 3 9 hole golf course. It was great value at £5 and looked like a good course for beginners. Well kept and clean with bins around it. We then went to do Knight Quest mini golf but then it was peak time for families. It looked fun but two adults against 50 children seemed a bit of a drag!
