The Best Golf Courses in Little Lever, Greater Manchester, United Kingdom (2025)

Played the seniors open and the course was in good condition particularly the greens. Fairly generous off the tees but with a few hazards dotted about. Everyone very friendly in pro shop and clubhouse. Well worth a visit.

I recently held my 80th birthday celebration for approximately 50 guests in the Function Room at the club. I want to compliment the club caterers "Chip and Sip" and the club bar staff on their service and friendliness in providing a magnificent Hot and Cold buffet, the food was excellent and plentiful, all fresh and prepared and cooked in the Club house kitchen. Everyone was impressed with the quality of the food and the bar service. I would thoroughly recommend Pike Fold Golf Club as an ideal venue for any kind of social function.

Not played pike fold before but I was pleasantly surprised and really impressed with the course - good design and routing of holes. It was in really good condition and the greens were superb - excellent pace and roll to them. Was quite busy for a Monday morning but pace of play was fine. Enjoyed a pint afterwards, and staff and members that we met were friendly. Would definitely go back and play there again.

Played as a reciprocal, this is a great challenging course, very well looked after and not a boring hole in sight. Lovely breakfast and coffee £7.50 and the assistant pro was a decent lad. Will definitely play it again.

Overall a very nice golf course. Pleasent pro shop and bar. Very well maintained course, in great shape for this time of year and recent weather. Greens were very good and consistent throughout. Fairways were gorgeous too. My only slight dislike and why I knocked a star off was because it only has 1 par 5 and 3 par 3s. The rest are a good mix of short, long and dog legged par 4 some very interesting. Course is par 70. Personally I prefer more par 5s and 3s. If you're not a long hitter this course will suit you very well. Great course just a minor knock down due to personal preference. 🙃

Great course. ....... Really in good condition....... A real gem of a round of golf in the North West of England...... Good food and drinks in the recently refurbished clubhouse.....

As a new member and only played four times I find the course in great condition for February. Great practice facilities and so far very friendly people, can't wait for the warmer days in the coming months and seeing the course at its best.

We had our wedding in Bolton Golf Club, it was a really great and nice day, I would illustrate in the next points: 1) We had around 100 guests, the place accommodated all the guests. 2)The food was really nice, and very high quality. 3)You will feel so comfy and relaxed as the team is really amazing and co-operative, they make sure that you are enjoying your day, I managed to take a selfie with them and I think there's one member of the team is not into the selfie, we are sending our regards to her. 4)A special thanks to Mat(Mathew), thanks so much for your effort in communication and responding to our questions, you are such an amazing person. 5)Very nice sound system, and mic(in case you want to have speeches. 6)Very nice bar if you want to order anything extra 7) I really recommend if anyone has a birthday party or engagement or wedding or even just gathering, just get in contact with Bolton Golf Club, they will arrange everything for you.

Bolton Balloon Fairies was asked to create a Balloon Wall around our 4 foot LED Numbers and what a gorgeous room they have for hire for functions. It's an upstairs room and is very large holding a couple of hundred people. Car park is spacious and bars are on both floors. Highly recommend 👌

Bolton's answer to Augusta, rolling pine lined holes with fast undulating greens. Always in great condition, the course has 2 loops of 9 that bring you back to the clubhouse, great if you only have time for 9 holes or are meeting friends. With some of the best views across Lancashire & Cheshire away to North Wales, always worth a visit.

Stunning course with great views across the area. Parts of the course were flooded but the weather had been terrible beforehand (welcome to the North West). The course was really well maintained throughout. The bar area was cozy, reasonably priced and the food was excellent.

Nice course, good value at £20, greens were in good condition and was fairly quick, most greens fairly straightforward but does have tricky ones sprinkled in with some difficult pin positions. Fairly flat course so comfortable walking round. No pro shop though but would visit again for a comfortable round and shouldn't lose too many balls compared to other courses around here.

Great course tight layout and great condition around the greens. Highly recommended for all handicaps.

Great course in mint condition. Greens like snooker tables with a few tricky reads. some big ponds to shoot over which I managed. Watch out for the par 5 on front nine nearly caught me out. Not sure if it was an error but only paid £10 for eighteen holes on Saturday afternoon but a right bargain

Really nice course. The ladies that made us breakfast really very friendly and made you feel welcome. Golf course is a thinking round one of the better course played in a few weeks. Big well done.

Wonderful course and members, very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The best part is 12 months of golf all year round, no mats very rarely temporary greens a lovely challenging course

Fantastic course one of the best around here that I've played. I'm not very good and found that although the holes were extremely challenging for a man with my golf capabilities- they were extremely fun! Beer ain't bad in club house either! Will be back for sure

Bury Golf Club. A great Alister McKenzie course with great undulations and hills. Par 70. 37 out 33 in. This course has some cracking holes but just lacks in a few of the finer details. Not many bins . No ball washers. A few bald patches and G.U.R. patches scattered around. Sand in bunkers was laking. A few blind tee shots with no hill top aim markers. Greens were good and rolled nicely for the majority. Fairways were good and rough was fair. Friendly Pro shop and Bars

We want to thank Bury Golf Club for hosting a brilliant company event for us with a round of golf (shotgun start!) for our clients and staff. Communication from the club was fantastic with great catering and a brilliant course to play on.

Great welcome in the pro shop , very friendly .Only played 9 holes as a visitor but wow , the best greens I've played hands down all year. The front 9 had some really lovely holes ,especially the par 3 9th. Will 100% be going back 100% credit to the greenstaff. Pics of the 9th green and also looking back to the 9th tee. Superb hole.

Having been a member previously, I was happy to play a round last week, to my delight, I cannot tell you the improvements that have been made to the course. Rob (head green keeper) and his team have improved the course and the ascetics 10 fold. The greens are in the best conditions I’ve ever seen them, the fairways and second cuts are cut to perfection and the general upkeep is second to none. Well done Rob and team for the great improvements and attention to detail. Definitely well worth a visit if you looking for a round of golf.

Went on a society day and have no complaints at all. Course was excellent, green's were superb. Food and service after golf was top class a very enjoyable day.

I've been walking around this beautiful place during 2020 lockdown in UK. I can't stress enough how much I appreciate its been located just across the street. I thought it would be nice to contribute with some photos I took. Have fun all golf lovers it's a perfect place for your game!

Great day out. Nice little course with some lovely holes. Great to see maintenance being carried out on the course aswell. The course was reasonable dry considering the rain we have had. Well worth a visit . 100% be back. Friendly pro shop and well sign posted.

First time I played this course and I found it a very pleasent well maintained course but very tricky, with some course knowledge I would of shot better. After playing this course around 10 times over the last few months, I decided to come back to this review and add to it. The greens at Hart Common are some of the best I've played, and consistent throughout. Fairways are also very well kept. Some great bunkers well placed. Again this is a tricky course keep it on the fairway and you'll be rewarded.

Fabulous, well priced course. Buggy hire extremely reasonable. The course is laid out very well as has some really challenging holes. A good test around. The greens are impeccably kept and the bunkers bar one are near perfect. Play advised......

Nice clean clubhouse with friendly helpful staff, didn't really get a look at pro shop. This is a great little course with undulating fairways hiding some monster size bunkers (with good sand in most) and some really well placed, making any golfer think a bit and course management is vital as there are hidden streams and water hazards which are not visible on a few fairways. Greens are good also, and I recommend this course to any average to good golfer, maybe a bit too challenging to a novice.

Proper golf in January no mats no temp greens helpful staff and friendly members would join this course if it was 20 miles closer

A quirky course that will test every aspect of your golf game and legs! Great views from 19th and a fine pint await those who venture here. Staff friendly and attentive.

Very nice course! First time we'd played this today and it won't be the last! Course in really good condition, it was pouring down with rain all round but still held up! Credit to the greenkeepers greens were in top condition! Full breakfast after the round, made to feel very welcome and all staff friendly! Good value for money, I'd say it's a course you definitely have to play in the area 👍🏻

Oct 7th 24 Just back from a first visit to this club. Great condition all round. The best greens I've played all season. Unfortunately no bar or food on today.( like most clubs on Monday.) A bit of a long narrow lane up to the club but will definately return

Nice club, cracking views, great greens on an interesting parkland / moorland course. Staff and members were a friendly bunch.

Attended wedding reception in the function room. Lovely laid out room with a good seating arrangement. Good selection of beers friendly bar staff. Suitable for around 60 -80 guests comfortably. separate room for buffet. Seating available outside on benches , nice views over the course Overall a nice place . Would recommend

Great course in fantastic condition. Greens really tricky and a good test. Very hilly and I was carrying so had a good workout aswell. Some interesting holes and great views you wouldn't think you were in Bolton. Would definitely return. Only negative the worker in the pro shop was a bit funny he turned up on the 16th hole and started to play a few holes. I caught him up and he a said I can't let you through it's ladies day it's there day. I didn't even ask to be let though was just enjoying the golf. Other than that jobs worth was a great day. Saw him when I was leaving after a pint and he had nothing to say then. Try a smile next time

Golf course in excellent condition. The competition organisers where very friendly and helpful. Had a lovely time playing golf here. Sep 2022 Played again here today and had another lovely day. Course still in excellent condition. The Captain made an effort to drive around the course and welcome all the teams which was nice. Excellent service in the clubhouse and a lovely meal after the golf. I had chicken curry with rice & chips. Very tasty and reasonably priced. Great golf club.

The course landscape team do an amazing job. Plays so well, even after rain. First nine a real challenge rewarding views out to Manchester and Wales on a bright day.
