Course generally in good condition with very good greens. A very hard walk on the back 9 with elevation changes and large distances between some greens and tees. Quite dangerous in places hitting over greens and also greens near tees. Friendly clubhouse with good price food and drinks.

Went hear for a meal the food was great the service very good the only thing I found issues with was parking there was no disabled parking and the parking bays so tight one could not open the car door without hitting another vehicle

Nice sunny day when playing there, gorgeous gilf course, well maintained. Be careful of the winds, really affected your shots!

Great course in fantastic condition 👍 if it's good enough for Tommy Fleetwood it's good enough for me. A must play course, a great opportunity to see it at it's best when they co host the Ameteur championship with Royal Birkdale later this year

Playing West Lancs has become an end of year tradition for us, having played the course the past 8-10 years. We played again yesterday 30/12/2024as a group of 8, and enjoyed every minute there, both in the clubhouse and on the course. Most upgraded to the full English, from the bacon roll and were thankful we did. The staff were very accommodating, chatty and a pleasure to interact with. Now to the course. The greens staff deserve a massive shout for the exceptional standard of the course. The fairways were in fantastic condition, so much so that you'd never have believed the rain the area had received over the past few months. The greens were slower than normal (I heard some members state that) but they ran true, and were running at the same pace throughout. This is one of my all time favourite courses, and one I'd love to play in the summer months. Unfortunately though, the summer price to play is too high, and outside my budget. I'd recommend this course to anyone and at any time of the year, and would like to thank West Lancs Golf Club for the exceptional Staff, Clubhouse and Course. and look forward to next year.

Went to a wedding there, the setting was lovely, the staff couldn't do enough for you and the food was excellent

Good venue, greens very tricky, Good range of short and long holes, would imagine it gets very wet,

Nice course, wasn't expecting it to be as up and down as it was but greens had good undulations which made for some interesting putts. Good golf shop, packed with gear to get. Unfortunately was quite wet and did have a fair amount of standing water on greens and in dips on the faraway. Would love to go back when it's dry, would recommend to try but £50 green fee I thought was a bit steep but if you can get a deal for around £30-£35 it'd be well worth it.

Awesome 👌 day for R.I.G.S. 2023; The course was in great condition, awesome fairways and very tricky greens. A very nice clubhouse. The only v.slight let down was most bunkers bereft of sand.

Played MGC this morning for the first time. Conditions were great, save a few spots on a few fairways which the grounds crew are doing an outstanding job of repairing. The views are beautiful and the property overall is just enjoyable to be on. Add to it that the weather cooperated and was a fairly sunny day. Next time I’m back in Manchester I’ll absolutely try to get another round in.

Golfers heaven Have played here the day after immense heavy rain in the north west of England, I was surprised at good of condition the course was in Fantastic setup with chipping area, driving range and large putting area. Nets are available for another means of a warm up prior to your round. The staff are superb in particular Julie, the manger who had no trouble in moving my tee time earlier Unfortunately I never had time to stop for food but I will do on my next visit.

Wow loved this course, the greens are ‘spot on’ really well maintained and a good looking course with super views. Large open fairways and firm green. A few issues on the back nine battling leather jackets and some GUR but to be expected given the wet weather. Really enjoyed the course, it has a ‘classy feel’ and a must if you are in the area. Finished off with a great breakfast in the club house. I looked at the practice area with a good driving range with Trackman but the green is still under development. I paid £60 using GolfNow great value and the best course I have played in Manchester so far, thanks

One of my favourite golf clubs ever purely because of the people. Staff are amazing! The course is unreal so different and so challenging

We hire the functional room for our child's baptism even though we are not members. Everybody had a great day, the buffet was excellent, the staff were fantastic and very friendly. But the best thing was the backdrop and the views of the golf course. All the kids had fun and we all had a great day

Bolton old links was a really good folf course. Some really deep difficult bunkers well placed. Must avoid at all cost. Greens were absolutely amazing. Some tee shots are blind, but hole map on every tee helps. Course knowledge is definitely an advantage here. Fairways are generous and rough is punishing. A great course overall.

Stunning course with great views across the area. Parts of the course were flooded but the weather had been terrible beforehand (welcome to the North West). The course was really well maintained throughout. The bar area was cozy, reasonably priced and the food was excellent.

Bolton's answer to Augusta, rolling pine lined holes with fast undulating greens. Always in great condition, the course has 2 loops of 9 that bring you back to the clubhouse, great if you only have time for 9 holes or are meeting friends. With some of the best views across Lancashire & Cheshire away to North Wales, always worth a visit.

Bolton Balloon Fairies was asked to create a Balloon Wall around our 4 foot LED Numbers and what a gorgeous room they have for hire for functions. It's an upstairs room and is very large holding a couple of hundred people. Car park is spacious and bars are on both floors. Highly recommend 👌

I attend our weekly business meeting here every Thursday with BNI. Great facilities and the catering team serve up a fantastic buffet breakfast.

Very happy to give the club a 5 star review. Just had a family birthday party and the service from Carolyn and her team was first class. Carolyn was very responsive to all my questions and nothing was too much trouble. On the day her team were warm and friendly, all the party guests had a lovely time and enjoyed the hot buffet food. Highly recommend!

I played here twice in June 2024, once in pouring rain at the beginning of the round. The course was immaculate with very well kept fairways. The greens were smooth, fast, and challenging. The rough was closely cut and there wasn't any great amount of debris under or around the trees. There was no waterlogging despite the English rain. The course isn't hugely difficult for a high handicap player but it does require some course management and a deal of care on the greens, some of which don't appear to have any level surfaces. The clubhouse is modern and comfortable. The bar staff are very friendly and helpful. I enjoy this course and I have heard good things from my brother who is a member for six years. Green fees were very reasonable too.

Lovely course well laid out and well presented. The course is highly maintained and frequently updated in regards to pin locations. There is fair pricing for a golf round, and the golf professional is polite and friendly with good knowledge to help with your golf swing and course advice.

Great golf course but not for the faint hearted, panoramic views across West Lancashire make the climb on some holes well worthwhile. Love the food and members bar overlooking the with green. Very friendly throughout.

Fantastic course,great food afterwards, be warned for those who have walking difficulty,this course is a tough walk but glad i did it.

Such a wonderful venue for an informal family celebration. service, food and setting were second to none. Staff were so accommodating and helpful and pricing was very reasonable. My wife had a memorable seventieth birthday as a result. All twenty one guests were highly impressed and will visit again, with one considering taking up golf! At Houghwood, ofcourse.😁

I went to the mini golf with my two children aged 6 and 4. They loved it! Amazing course, the girls didn't get bored and played until the end still wanting more! Kept entertained by all of the props around the course and the Australian facts. Definitely returning customers.

Visited the newly opened Australia themed Crazy Golf, it was absolutely fabulous. I cannot rave enough about this! The courses are amazing, beautifully built, with such detail and the courses are challenging and really good fun. The finish is top notch and so much fun. There are all the major landmarks, animals and novelties of Australia. A definite must. We played a family of 4, it took 1hr 10mins to get around, with only a small wait at one of the holes, but this gave us chance to lap up the scenery.

Great practise facility with a real family feel to it. The 9 hole Par 3 course is really well maintained, with very unforgiving rough all year round. There is also a really well kept putting and chipping green. Plus the trackman system helps you keep upto speed with how you are coming along.

We visited the Australian Crazy Golf and had a great time with our 2 boys it took us around a hour to complete the course could have took longer but felt we were being rushed along by a man and 2 very young children who were trying to finish as fast as they could 😕 we loved all the Australian landmarks and would definitely recommend and would visit again 💯
