Very happy to give the club a 5 star review. Just had a family birthday party and the service from Carolyn and her team was first class. Carolyn was very responsive to all my questions and nothing was too much trouble. On the day her team were warm and friendly, all the party guests had a lovely time and enjoyed the hot buffet food. Highly recommend!

Fantastic course with some of the best greens in the Manchester area. Very friendly staff and members. It is well worth a visit.

I attend our weekly business meeting here every Thursday with BNI. Great facilities and the catering team serve up a fantastic buffet breakfast.

Lovely course well laid out and well presented. The course is highly maintained and frequently updated in regards to pin locations. There is fair pricing for a golf round, and the golf professional is polite and friendly with good knowledge to help with your golf swing and course advice.

We were here for a family members christening celebration. Lovely staff, very welcoming especially the ladies serving teas/coffees in the kitchen, very smiley, friendly & helpful nothing clearly was too much trouble. The food was lovely, very nicely presented, very tasty & great range of food. The heating was on ..so pleased because it was a cold day, so very grateful for that. Clean, nice toilet facilities.

Society day, really enjoyed it, nice course. Captain of club, what a nice chap seen us all tee off, give us some insights of the course and was still there to see us all in + prior to our meals before seeing us off home, thanking us for going to his club on the day, and saying he'd wishing we'd go back again in the future. Went to a private party. It was a great venue and a beautiful location. The staff were exceptional, the buffet was good and the venue was very accommodating regarding the room decocorations.

Another little hidden paradise that I didn't even know existed just round the corner from our house. Lovely place great friendly staff!

We hire the functional room for our child's baptism even though we are not members. Everybody had a great day, the buffet was excellent, the staff were fantastic and very friendly. But the best thing was the backdrop and the views of the golf course. All the kids had fun and we all had a great day

A warm welcome awaits at the home of indoor golf Choice of courses and skill levels. Great drink offers and wonderful company and staff. The bacon brioche is a must !

Attended The Avry yesterday as somewhere to have a few birthday drinks with a family group of adults and teenagers. Contacted The Avry in advance and they offered to reserve an area for us. The communication was quick and easy. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the venue and atmosphere was great with something for us all, kept the kids well entertained with pool table and darts, the pizzas were fab and we all had a great time. Will definitely go back!

To comment on Laura Rodwell review, this is so unfair and petty to create an account and leave a bad review on a local business. I was at the Avry last night (NYE) and it was very busy, the young lady was on her own serving everyone the best she could, this was not her fault. Laura read the room a little better, don't be rude to a young girl on her own... does it make you feel important? The fact this is your first review specks volumes about you. I am a local and if anyone reading this thinking about coming to the airy, please do, its a great place. Laura, I don't think you will be missed.

Visited a couple of weeks ago and you wouldn't think it was January. Fairways were excellent, greens were decent and the welcome from Richard in the pro shop was very warm. Only a 9 hole track but this shouldn't be a surprise and it's nice enough to go round twice. Whenever I've played here, this time included, the members approach visitors with suspicion and I've been confronted quite abruptly on all occasions about my right to be there. And yes, I'd paid the green fees.

It's such a beautiful place and by far the best 9 hole golf course I've ever played. Friendly staff foxes birds River Woods all in 9 holes fantastic.

Don't be put off the fact that this is a shortish nine hole course. The second nine plays from different tee boxes which does make a difference in a couple of holes. You will be allocated two tee times by the pro,(front nine and back nine). Always worth taking the phone number for the bar so you can ring when teeing off the ninth and have a pint waiting before your back nine on a hot day. A new green should be in play by the end of the summer. Just a flick with a wedge over the water but beware the undulations in the green. House manager Ben and his staff were exceptionally helpful and the quality of the food is always high. Go on...make the effort and visit

Very picturesque 9 hole golf course. Immaculately maintained with two very different tee positions on each nine. Food and service excellent in a beautiful location. Well worth a visit.

This is a lovely course, challenging that is for sure but I is well maintained, all the staff are polite and friendly. The pricing of the course is fair for how well it is maintained. If you are looking for a challenge then I would certainly advise visiting Davenport Golf Club. I can say that I will be returning again in the future. I have returned and it's just as enjoyable and a well kept course the second and third tines of visiting.

Brilliant course, but we played just after the greens were spiked and sanded, so they ran a little slow.

Was here for a function,the grounds are lovely and well maintained and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Function room was a good size and perfect for the event. Can't comment on the course as I don't play golf,but it looked great. =)

Whitefield golf club is a hidden gem in the north west of England. The greens are a treasure and there is a hole for every type of golfer. Our golf society continually chooses Whitefield because of the golf but come back for the hospitality they offer. If you’re organising a society day here, don’t hesitate, just book it.

Great day out. Nice little course with some lovely holes. Great to see maintenance being carried out on the course aswell. The course was reasonable dry considering the rain we have had. Well worth a visit . 100% be back. Friendly pro shop and well sign posted.

Nice course. Good, inviting fairways from the tee box. Some long par 4s and a 210 yrd par 3. 16th drives over the 4th green, so it can cause a little bit of a wait. 6th has a ditch right on driver distance running across fairway be careful. 9th hole par 3 very tough, good-looking hole. Overall, it was very nice, not too hilly course. Proshop and clubhouse are very good.

Great welcome in the pro shop , very friendly .Only played 9 holes as a visitor but wow , the best greens I've played hands down all year. The front 9 had some really lovely holes ,especially the par 3 9th. Will 100% be going back 100% credit to the greenstaff. Pics of the 9th green and also looking back to the 9th tee. Superb hole.

Having been a member previously, I was happy to play a round last week, to my delight, I cannot tell you the improvements that have been made to the course. Rob (head green keeper) and his team have improved the course and the ascetics 10 fold. The greens are in the best conditions I’ve ever seen them, the fairways and second cuts are cut to perfection and the general upkeep is second to none. Well done Rob and team for the great improvements and attention to detail. Definitely well worth a visit if you looking for a round of golf.

Amazing day from start to finish at my Sisters wedding. Drinks reasonably priced for a golf club venue. The ceremony, breakfast and evening reception were just perfect. The staff were really welcoming, plenty of bar staff working the bar so never waited to be served. The food was beautiful as were the surroundings as was the standard of the ceremony/function room and the way it was dressed. Absolutely wonderful venue, team of catering and bar staff and the view from the outdoor seating area on the large balcony was the cherry on the cake.

This is an amazing golf club, great staff including the pro shop, catering, 19th hole and management. Not only is the golf great, we also had the pleasure of using the function room for a recent party, everybody at the club was superb and made the day so special.

Excellent golf course for those who play. Fine views if you don't! Relatively new clubhouse and function rooms, can be hired with large room, ideal for weddings and family celebrations.

Wow! This is our wedding venue! So much to say about this place absolutely incredible! The manager called Racheal was so helpful each time we went see the venue she always offered us drinks and was so welcome, she helped set up our wedding venue out of her own free will! The catering team there make unbelievably good food 😍 I would highly recommend renting out this venue the team there are top class!

Very nice venue for an event with great views overlooking the golf course,we were there celebrating a friend's end of life, the club provided an excellent buffet,I highly recommend this place.

Even considering the typically Manchester weather, the course was playing nicely this morning. Only used the practice facilities today but the chipping and pitching area was in good condition (apart from the areas which had been reseeded). 23 August 2023 25 Sept 2023 - greens now immaculate following maintenance work completion and the recent rains. Fairways by and large firm and in good condition, just a few small boggier areas more than likely due to surface topography. February 2024 - after recent heavy rains, and on-going planned works, not all holes were playable. Some soggy and slippy areas about, but the greens were in good condition. May 2024 - starting to get drier weather now and the course is improving. Still a few squidgy areas of ground around but the majority of the course is very playable. Oct 2024 - first outing for months due to injury. Course in very good condition with very few soggy areas. Some areas a bit softer than others but easily manageable in spineless shoes.

Superb ! Great practice facilities with a modern club house with all the facilities. Great staff and a lovely family feel. Highly recommend.
