The Best Golf Courses in Baguley, Greater Manchester, United Kingdom (2025)

Went on a rainy Sunday not expecting much and was pleasantly surprised. Fairway, tees and greens were in great shape, and the course was varied, challenging and enjoyable. Some of the bunkers were rather solid but given the level of rain over the past few days I can't complain. Recommended.

Played here yesterday with our golf society (Flag Hunters) and thoroughly enjoyed the course. Considering all the rain we have had, the course was in excellent condition. There are some fantastic views of the surrounding countryside as well, which was a bonus. The hospitality in the pro shop and clubhouse was first class. Hopefully we get to go back next year, when the 6th hole will be in play.

Played our end of year Santa golf day today. From Chris in the pro shop to everyone in the club house friendly, helpful and welcoming. Course played really well and very well maintained and even the hard frost did not spoil the day. Food after a cold but enjoyable round made for a great day. Thanks to everything at Stand GC for making it a brilliant end to our Season. We will be back in 2023 to play this course in the summer.

Played here today, we were in front of 4 ex captain's, they all were so friendly, a credit to their club. Course was in very good all round condition for the time of the year, really enjoy playing here and will be back soon.

Course generally in good condition with very good greens. A very hard walk on the back 9 with elevation changes and large distances between some greens and tees. Quite dangerous in places hitting over greens and also greens near tees. Friendly clubhouse with good price food and drinks.

Went hear for a meal the food was great the service very good the only thing I found issues with was parking there was no disabled parking and the parking bays so tight one could not open the car door without hitting another vehicle

V friendly Golf Club, with a lovely terrace. The food particularly Sunday dinner is great value.

Having been a member previously, I was happy to play a round last week, to my delight, I cannot tell you the improvements that have been made to the course. Rob (head green keeper) and his team have improved the course and the ascetics 10 fold. The greens are in the best conditions I’ve ever seen them, the fairways and second cuts are cut to perfection and the general upkeep is second to none. Well done Rob and team for the great improvements and attention to detail. Definitely well worth a visit if you looking for a round of golf.

Great welcome in the pro shop , very friendly .Only played 9 holes as a visitor but wow , the best greens I've played hands down all year. The front 9 had some really lovely holes ,especially the par 3 9th. Will 100% be going back 100% credit to the greenstaff. Pics of the 9th green and also looking back to the 9th tee. Superb hole.

Nice course. Good, inviting fairways from the tee box. Some long par 4s and a 210 yrd par 3. 16th drives over the 4th green, so it can cause a little bit of a wait. 6th has a ditch right on driver distance running across fairway be careful. 9th hole par 3 very tough, good-looking hole. Overall, it was very nice, not too hilly course. Proshop and clubhouse are very good.

Really nice course and considering the weather and time of year can’t complain. Would love to return when all greens are back in play, there were 3/4 temps, we were not advised at time of paying but also not surprised due to time of year but would have been nice to be made aware. Clubhouse was closed so couldn’t get a drink or anything to eat after. Which was a shame as I always like to put some money over the bar after a game of golf.

Another little hidden paradise that I didn't even know existed just round the corner from our house. Lovely place great friendly staff!

Awesome 👌 day for R.I.G.S. 2023; The course was in great condition, awesome fairways and very tricky greens. A very nice clubhouse. The only v.slight let down was most bunkers bereft of sand.

Played an open day here, staff super friendly, golf course was in great condition and the back 9 was brutal (made harder with windy conditions). Really enjoyed it though and the food afterwards was lovely!

Played MGC this morning for the first time. Conditions were great, save a few spots on a few fairways which the grounds crew are doing an outstanding job of repairing. The views are beautiful and the property overall is just enjoyable to be on. Add to it that the weather cooperated and was a fairly sunny day. Next time I’m back in Manchester I’ll absolutely try to get another round in.

Wow loved this course, the greens are ‘spot on’ really well maintained and a good looking course with super views. Large open fairways and firm green. A few issues on the back nine battling leather jackets and some GUR but to be expected given the wet weather. Really enjoyed the course, it has a ‘classy feel’ and a must if you are in the area. Finished off with a great breakfast in the club house. I looked at the practice area with a good driving range with Trackman but the green is still under development. I paid £60 using GolfNow great value and the best course I have played in Manchester so far, thanks

Great day out. Nice little course with some lovely holes. Great to see maintenance being carried out on the course aswell. The course was reasonable dry considering the rain we have had. Well worth a visit . 100% be back. Friendly pro shop and well sign posted.

Whitefield golf club is a hidden gem in the north west of England. The greens are a treasure and there is a hole for every type of golfer. Our golf society continually chooses Whitefield because of the golf but come back for the hospitality they offer. If you’re organising a society day here, don’t hesitate, just book it.

Played today with a small work society, and we had a great day out. First time we've played there but won't be the last. Lovely course with some great holes that make you think about your tee shot. Breakfast wasn't bad either.

The course is in excellent condition at the moment (May18). We had a sunny, quiet evening round - and it was absolute bliss. Helps that I had my best back 9 ever!!!

Brilliant venue for a celebration. We hired the club for a family party and it was perfect. Connor was so helpful organising it all. The food was excellent - everyone commented on what a great buffet it was (with lots of fresh, healthy options as well as the classics). Thanks for all your help!

This is my third visit to this club in 10 years and I must say things are looking a bit tired. The course has held up well after the dreadful weather we have experienced over this past year and this has shown especially on the greens. It has created very challenging putting issues with no way of reading the speed (slow) or performance (bobbling) on the surface. The tees were in excellent condition and much can be said of the fairways but off line in the semi rough and ball lose was high for all our groups as the grass has not mowed due to weather conditions and the softness of the ground. The club house is also looking a bit tired with paint work needed just about everywhere, all said I very much like this club with some long challenging holes and will recommend to others.

I played here twice in June 2024, once in pouring rain at the beginning of the round. The course was immaculate with very well kept fairways. The greens were smooth, fast, and challenging. The rough was closely cut and there wasn't any great amount of debris under or around the trees. There was no waterlogging despite the English rain. The course isn't hugely difficult for a high handicap player but it does require some course management and a deal of care on the greens, some of which don't appear to have any level surfaces. The clubhouse is modern and comfortable. The bar staff are very friendly and helpful. I enjoy this course and I have heard good things from my brother who is a member for six years. Green fees were very reasonable too.

Lovely course well laid out and well presented. The course is highly maintained and frequently updated in regards to pin locations. There is fair pricing for a golf round, and the golf professional is polite and friendly with good knowledge to help with your golf swing and course advice.

I attend our weekly business meeting here every Thursday with BNI. Great facilities and the catering team serve up a fantastic buffet breakfast.

Fab local club with varied golfing challenges. Quite tight in places! Plays short in summer but need to place it well. The back nine is easier but watch out for the tricky (but very good!) greens. A golfers oasis in the south of the city.

Lovely golf course, visited for the GolfMates charity day at the end of May. Cannot wait to go back, the staff in the shop and behind the bar provide outstanding hospitality and the food is top notch too. The course was in great Nick too, fairways seemed like carpet to me!

Had a wonderful family Christmas lunch at the Golf club, the food was great and the staff were so attentive as always. Special mention to Debbie, Barbara and Tony who always go the extra mile to ensure a lovely time. All the staff were excellent 👍🏻 Look forward to my next visit 💯

1st time at chorlton cum hardy golf club. Quite a tight course in places, so being straight is a massive bonus. Was pleasantly surprised by the condition of the course. It was in very good condition. Friendly staff and good facilities. Even met Golfmates Liam Harrison and EBAY Pete. Nice people. Would recommend this course to everyone.
