For us this was a relatively large scale project (a rear extension to create an open plan kitchen and living space) and we were understandably anxious about appointing a builder. After much research online we arranged to see 4 local companies. Open Plan Solutions was the last to been seen and blew the competition out of the water. From the outset it was obvious that we were talking to a company that took great pride in doing things the right way. Andrew made it very clear that communication and an upfront approach was paramount to the way Open Plan operated. On the first day of the build a WhatsApp group was set up giving us direct contact to the team along with a Google Drive account allowing access running costs, receipts and images of the work as it progressed. It became clear from the off that Andrews exacting influence runs through the entire workforce. We continued to live in the house while the work was being carried out and with me working from home the team couldn’t have been more considerate. The site was cleared as much as it could everyday and every effort was made to accommodate our daily routine. We couldn’t have been happier with the level of care and attention to detail, along with the high standard of finish and aftercare – we can’t recommend Open Plan Solutions enough. They’re a fantastic team to work with.

Single Storey Open Plan Extension From the very start of our project, everything ran so smoothly. We couldn't have been more impressed with the whole team, from Andrew the Company Director, to Charles our Project Manager and the rest of the build team, and especially Zoltán our Site Foreman. Whatever the weather, the team always arrived promptly at 8 am and stayed until 6 pm Monday - Friday and all Saturday morning, starting again at 8 am. They always cleared away any tools and the site was left as clean and tidy as possible at the end of each day. All the team were so polite, and conscientious. Nothing was too much trouble, especially as our plans evolved, their focus was always on our needs and discussing and answering any questions we had. We had a WhatsApp group set up, so we could easily contact any senior team members, which worked so well. The builders certainly didn't hang around, the project moved forward at an incredible pace, and all necessary building inspections were arranged by Open Plan with our local council. As this was a large single storey extension at the rear of our property, it involved removing most of our kitchen and putting it into storage while the work was carried out. Once we were at the stage when it was in the way, the builders moved most of our units and other furniture into storage for us. They ensured that we always had an area where we could continue to prepare food, as we remained in our home while all the work was carried out. One of our concerns was being able to let our two large dogs out into the garden securely, the builders fenced off an area which included a gate, so we could safely let them out. We can't praise their work highly enough, it was so refreshing to be able to work with such an amazing team, especially as you hear so many awful stories regarding cowboy building companies. We are delighted with the finish inside and out, and would definitely use Open Plan Solutions/HunBuild for any further projects we may have in the future. Highly recommended!

I can't explain how happy I am to recommend Open Plan Solutions. These guys completely blew us away with level of service from a building company. We bought a 3 bed semi house in St Albans that needed a lot of work, both structural and design. In essence we needed everything new for the house, walls knocked down, extension built, bathrooms, kitchen, electrics and plumbing. We'd heard so many nightmare stories of builders working on friends/relatives houses, so we arranged for 7 different builders to come and quote for the works we needed. Andrew (from open plan) was the only person who wasn't coming in from a recommendation, and he was the person we knew we wanted from day one. First of all they are reasonable on price, not cheap but not expensive. They are transparent with EVERYTHING and honest. The explain everything along the way so we know the decisions that needed to be made and allowed us to make an informed decision on what we wanted to do. They were so thorough, they followed the book throughout the build, this both built our confidence in them and their knowledge but also in the quality of the end product. One of the most important things that's easily overseen by builders is communication. Open Plan Solutions well exceeded anything I expected from any building company. We were added to a Whatsapp group for simple communication, emails were frequently sent for important things and a Google drive was set up to share documents and daily site pictures. We didn't live on site, so this meant we knew exactly what was happening along the way without having to continuously turn up to site. They are so polite and efficient, the builders turn up every day at 8, on time and leave at 6, Mon-Sat. My wife and I cannot fault Open Plan Solutions for any of the works they done for us. I would happily recommend them for any residential building works you may require. Their attention to detail, communication, consideration, efficiency and cost.
