Had an amazing lunch here today. Genuinely couldn't decide what to have as there were so many delicious options on the menu....Really good vegetarian options available too, which is unusual. Good incentive to return and try it all! :-) Beautiful, classic English country pub; best in the area, we love it!
Community run pub, great location, log fire, great service, atmosphere, excellent food and the most delicious truffle and permanent chips ever. Highly recommend a visit. Book in advance. A great plus is they are very dog friendly and accommodating.
Having read the negative review, I felt compelled to share our experience after visiting yesterday. We had booked in advance and may have been seated near the table mentioned in the review. While the staff were absolutely lovely and welcoming, I did notice that the table next to us was quite crowded. At one point, I found it a bit tricky to navigate past the chairs to access the ladies' room. That said, our overall experience was amazing! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the food was outstanding, and the staff made every effort to ensure we had a fantastic time. It’s clear that a lot of hard work and care goes into making guests feel welcome. We can’t wait to return and enjoy another wonderful visit!
Loved the Rose & Thistle. Highly recommend! It was the gastronomic highlight of our week in the New Forest. Lovely walks from the pub too. We’ll be back. Thanks
