Great little place hidden away up a walkway, had a lovely breakfast and sat outside. Didn't need to book even for a Saturday morning, with quick service and lovely staff. Dog friendly and only a few tables but a great selection of foods and drinks to choose from. Will defiantly be going back!

I still think about the sourdough sandwich I had here! It was AMAZING! SO delicious. The sourdough they use is such high quality and the girl here was really nice and was happy to take out the mayo and do a tuna/avo sandwich for me. My mum had the cake which she said was great too. Best cafe in the town by far!

Rating: 4.8 (53) Price Level:
What an absolutely beautiful place to stay, you have a warm welcome with a cup of tea and cake, the rooms are spotlessly clean along with the bathrooms. A Delicious breakfast awaits you in the morning and plenty of parking. The owners are really nice and I had many a long chat with. A must to stay at hilltop Barn again.
Rating: 5 / 5
This B&B is the most beautiful place we have ever stayed in. The room and the attached bathroom were exceptional clean and decorated so beautifully. The bed was lovely and comfortable and the surrounding grounds were just stunning. The owner was so accommodating, we chose our breakfast for the following morning, each night and were greeted in the morning with Fresh coffee/tea/ juice/ a plate of fruit and what ever we had ordered for breakfast (I opted for smoked salmon and poached egg, but there was a lot more on the menu.) I would 100% recommend and we will be returning,
Rating: 5 / 5
The best B&B I've ever been to! Bill is a wonderful host, who is very knowledgeable about the local area, and cooks a great breakfast for you every morning. Gluten free options as well. Lovely rooms views as well.
Rating: 5 / 5
Great location and great service. A bit tricky to find and only accessible by car as there are only 1 bus per day to the next city. Very nice and peacefull stay. Breakfast was fresh and locally sourced where possible and very tasty. The whole building is a nice converted barn and has a lot of character. The room was spacious but the floor creak a lot, but i suppose you can't have it all when you convert an old building. Still a very nice and relaxing stay, highly recommend.
Rating: 5 / 5
Stunning!! Sensitive barn conversion, which has retained the character and features of the building. Wonderful host, so friendly and welcoming. Beautifully furnished with antique and retro fusion. Quirky mix , but works extremely well! Superbly comfortable rooms and wonderful delicious breakfast.! 5star +++!!! Loved it!

Fantastic Saturday lunch in Dorset. Excellent food ( Goats cheese soufflé and beef with horseradish mash ) good red wine and a divine panacotta with hand made turkish delight... bookings a must, very recommended.
Rating: 5 / 5
Ok, it's great tasting food for sure, but can get a bit noisy when busy due to the wooden decorated design inside. But it gets busy because it's good. Always best to book. Cater for parties.
Rating: 5 / 5
Our party of 9 thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at the Elms. Atmosphere was good, food was excellent and the waitress service was excellent too. A very nice restaurant to wine and dine your party in.
Rating: 5 / 5
This is the place to go for something different. The place is light and airy with plenty of space between the tables. The service is excellent. The menu gives you the opportunity to try something different. I really recommend this as a place to go and try.

We had a pleasant meal here, on a lovely day outside. The soufflé was delicious, although we would've preferred homemade chips. Minor thing really. Would recommend stopping.

Stopped here after an February MTB ride, very friendly and hospitable although only just a few small tables inside. I had the Chicken Tikka Pannini with a fresh side salad, delicious, fresh coffee all made in clear view. Clean indoor toilet, and a number of outside benches for warmer days.
Rating: 4 / 5
Recommended by a friend and quite the little gem. Food was reasonably priced and the atmosphere is quaint. A nice touch of the hot drinks being served in dainty teacups with saucers. Local artists selling their products and a little antique/collectable room on site. Debs the owner is a busy lady and everything is excellent.
Rating: 5 / 5
Absolutely love the tea room cafe. Debs is a lovely lady that always puts the customers first. Lovely affordable food and great atmosphere. Not to mention the lovely Tracey that is next door in the pet shop. Very friendly for dogs and their humans. We love going there and it is very affordable. We are always made to feel welcome. Also there are items for sale that are all handmade. Lovely for gifts. Highly recommend.

A beautiful little café which is bright, cozy and welcoming. The coffee was delicious and the display of cakes makes it very difficult to choose. We settled on the chocolate brownie and it was definitely a wise choice. The staff were friendly and helpful in their recommendations, if you are in the area this café is a must!

Myself and my partner went to this lovely cafe in Blandford, Jackie was lovely and her selection of cakes 🎂 🥮 were really tasty. Well worth the visit.

Great place for soup and a scone and delicious cakes, especially the carrot cake. Service lovely. Will return.

Popped into this café for a coffee stop during the afternoon. I had previously visited maybe a year or two ago but the inside was not as I remembered it. It turns out there has been a new owner hence the changes. Whilst I didn’t eat this time, looking at what’s on offer, I will be back. Oh, and the coffee was great btw.

Such a beautiful cafe, full of character and charm. Have visited a few times, with friends and with family. Each time I have visited, the service has been so welcoming, warm and friendly. The cakes are exceptional, the brownies in particular are a must try! The food is great value for money, so tasty and freshly cooked. We are so lucky to have this cafe in our town! (Also dog friendly with a little jar of biscuits on the side which I feel is a lovely extra bonus!)

On the main road which goes through stur. Ideal for a light lunch or snack. Did have a specials board which we sampled two dishes from. Staff friendly and overall it's very good value for money.

Made so welcome with our puppy on a really wet, windy Sunday. We were wet, the puppy was trying hard to be good. The Big Stur breakfast was epic. Filling and great ingredients. The plate was swept clean. Generous portions for the hungry traveller. Pleasant surroundings and friendly staff. They cared for us. We will be back.

We came here for breakfast for my mum's birthday and it did not disappoint! The ingredients are of the highest quality, everything was cooked perfectly and the coffee was great. We were a table of 7 adults and a highchair, and the service was incredibly friendly and professional. The outdoor tables with a view were a perfect way to finish our morning with a coffee and a cannoli. Thank you so much for your hospitality, we look forward to returning soon!

Blackmarsh Farm Café
Blackmarsh Farm, Dodd's Cross, Sherborne DT9 4JX, UK | Cafe P: 01935 815040
Rating: 4.6 (177) Price Level:
Went with my sister ( a local ) and daughter and granddaughter. Food was really lovely. Highly reccomend the quiche. The play area is safe and really well laid out. If you are in the area it is well worth a visit. We live over an hour away but do make a beeline for Blackmarsh Farm when visiting. Staff are lovely too.
Rating: 5 / 5
I love this little place that has a larger personality especially around the holidays, nice food, nice helpful staff, and full of friendlyness. It gets bigger and louder during the holidays and summer months when it opens the play area and the maize maze. Lovely for families and children. I have to say it pleases my heart to see this place set up for children's outside play, they certainly keep you on your toes, even when you are not part of that group or party, it has a little downside life everywhere when is busy hearing can be an issue even when sat face to face, so if you're expecting a wee cuppa or coffee or lunch in peace or relative quite here, you honestly won't know until you get there. It's just lovely hearing the children and youths being a play outside and not attached to their phones or computers.
Rating: 5 / 5
Good location on the edge of Sherborne to let the kids run and play while you sit comfortably in the old farm yard with a cake and coffee or maybe a light lunch.
Rating: 5 / 5
An amazing maize, maze one of the best around. What a pity it's the final maze this year. A wonderful attraction for all the family with all the usual facilities including a superb little cafe. Play area for younger children and very reasonably priced. Staff extremely friendly and helpful adding to the experience. The maze is open all summer until early September so get in there quickly for a brilliant day out!

Cosy and intimate, this family run cafe is an oasis of calm and an excellent place to recharge between the myriad gifting opportunities of Sturminster Newton’s high street. Friendly welcoming staff that couldn't do enough for you. The food was well presented, and very tasty- The Timmy (fish finger sandwich )was delicious, one of the best I've had. The decor was spot on and there was so many things to look at. The latte was slightly watery tasting- but minor compared to the experience overall. A new favourite.
