Dorset's Crafty Barn & Tearoom

Rating: 4.8 (44) Price Level:

Recommended by a friend and quite the little gem. Food was reasonably priced and the atmosphere is quaint. A nice touch of the hot drinks being served in dainty teacups with saucers. Local artists selling their products and a little antique/collectable room on site. Debs the owner is a busy lady and everything is excellent.

Absolutely love the tea room cafe. Debs is a lovely lady that always puts the customers first. Lovely affordable food and great atmosphere. Not to mention the lovely Tracey that is next door in the pet shop. Very friendly for dogs and their humans. We love going there and it is very affordable. We are always made to feel welcome. Also there are items for sale that are all handmade. Lovely for gifts. Highly recommend.

Stopped here after an February MTB ride, very friendly and hospitable although only just a few small tables inside. I had the Chicken Tikka Pannini with a fresh side salad, delicious, fresh coffee all made in clear view. Clean indoor toilet, and a number of outside benches for warmer days.

Stunning!! Sensitive barn conversion, which has retained the character and features of the building. Wonderful host, so friendly and welcoming. Beautifully furnished with antique and retro fusion. Quirky mix , but works extremely well! Superbly comfortable rooms and wonderful delicious breakfast.! 5star +++!!! Loved it!

What an absolutely beautiful place to stay, you have a warm welcome with a cup of tea and cake, the rooms are spotlessly clean along with the bathrooms. A Delicious breakfast awaits you in the morning and plenty of parking. The owners are really nice and I had many a long chat with. A must to stay at hilltop Barn again.

Great location and great service. A bit tricky to find and only accessible by car as there are only 1 bus per day to the next city. Very nice and peacefull stay. Breakfast was fresh and locally sourced where possible and very tasty. The whole building is a nice converted barn and has a lot of character. The room was spacious but the floor creak a lot, but i suppose you can't have it all when you convert an old building. Still a very nice and relaxing stay, highly recommend.

This B&B is the most beautiful place we have ever stayed in. The room and the attached bathroom were exceptional clean and decorated so beautifully. The bed was lovely and comfortable and the surrounding grounds were just stunning. The owner was so accommodating, we chose our breakfast for the following morning, each night and were greeted in the morning with Fresh coffee/tea/ juice/ a plate of fruit and what ever we had ordered for breakfast (I opted for smoked salmon and poached egg, but there was a lot more on the menu.) I would 100% recommend and we will be returning,

Ok, it's great tasting food for sure, but can get a bit noisy when busy due to the wooden decorated design inside. But it gets busy because it's good. Always best to book. Cater for parties.

We came here for breakfast for my mum's birthday and it did not disappoint! The ingredients are of the highest quality, everything was cooked perfectly and the coffee was great. We were a table of 7 adults and a highchair, and the service was incredibly friendly and professional. The outdoor tables with a view were a perfect way to finish our morning with a coffee and a cannoli. Thank you so much for your hospitality, we look forward to returning soon!

Popped into this café for a coffee stop during the afternoon. I had previously visited maybe a year or two ago but the inside was not as I remembered it. It turns out there has been a new owner hence the changes. Whilst I didn’t eat this time, looking at what’s on offer, I will be back. Oh, and the coffee was great btw.

The sourdough they use is such high quality and the girl here was really nice and was happy to take out the mayo and do a tuna/avo sandwich for me. My mum had the cake which she said was great too. Best cafe in the town by far!

Made so welcome with our puppy on a really wet, windy Sunday. We were wet, the puppy was trying hard to be good. The Big Stur breakfast was epic. Filling and great ingredients. Such a beautiful cafe, full of character and charm. Have visited a few times, with friends and with family. Each time I have visited, the service has been so welcoming, warm and friendly. The cakes are exceptional, the brownies in particular are a must try! The food is great value for money, so tasty and freshly cooked. We are so lucky to have this cafe in our town! This is easily becoming my favourite cafe in Weymouth. The location is great, just moments from the harbour side in the bustling brewers quay area. They have a sizeable outside seating area for those dry days and a cosy dining area inside. The staff are wonderfully accommodating and lovely with our children, they are always offered colouring books and numerous high chairs are available. Now the food...it is lovely. It is all vegetarian or vegan, but even as a meat lover I always find something to eat. A personal favourite is the poutine, fries with melted cheese covered in the most delicious mushroom gravy - it is gorgeous! The extensive waffle menu is a firm hit with all ages, with choices to suit all. From waffles doused in chocolate to lovely fruit toppings. If you are in the area, I would wholeheartedly suggest you pop by for lunch.

A “rare find” as AirBnB often says! An old school cafe, with personal service at reasonable/fair prices. It’s not often that you can buy an Americano for £2.20 these days! And their menu has a wide range of sandwiches and/or toasties. Nothing fancy, but great value and a friendly welcome.
