We were visiting family and travelled from quite far so we aren't familiar with the area but this place seems like it must be a local gem. The staff were amazing and so friendly, they couldn't be more helpful. The atmosphere was great and the food was so good. The price was so reasonable too for the quality of the food. Would recommend this place to everyone and will definitely visit again when back in the area. Thank you for a lovely lunch!

Lovely food...a touch of home cooking and very friendly helpful staff. Reasonably priced and large portions too. Highly recommend Chicken in Brie sauce

We visited Beaminster today for the first time. Nice church with a friendly 'Walk in Wednesday' group. Several interesting shops. We looked at several cafes before going into Dexters on the main street just almost opposite to the square. Only small with about 8 tables but with a French bistro look. Very clean. Friendly staff. They are open for breakfast, lunch and evening meals. Several people came in to book tables, so it might be worthwhile to do so on the busier days. We both had 'small breakfasts' with a pot of Clipper tea. It was enough for 2 cups each. The breakfast was piping hot and comprised of toast and butter, hash brown, beans, tomato, fried egg, sausage, mushrooms and bacon. All cooked to perfection and well presented. At only £6.50 ea. for the breakfast and £2 ea for the tea, we thought this was good value. Well worth a visit!!

Tangerine

This was a spur of the moment stop to break up a long journey home and we are so glad we did. The cafe itself has been beautifully designed with beautiful garden and interesting local artwork. The menu was fantastic and had specials that changed daily (I loved the bubble and squeak and poached egg) and it was so lovely to be able to see in the kitchen. It also had really good glueten free options. The owners were incredibly friendly and chatty and made us feel really welcome.

Fantastic find. Quirky, friendly & good value. Try it! We saw a sign to the Gallery in the market square in Beaminster and I popped down the road for a look as the pub we had intended to visit had just stopped food service. I am so glad we did find the Tangerine Gallery & Cafe. The place is a maze of small individual rooms, so social distancing is no problem. My wife and I chose to eat in the lovely cottage garden. Again, there is a choice of places to sit - we chose the hexagonal summer house. The staff were very friendly and, just as it says on the menu, everything is prepared fresh. The raspberry milk shake was bursting with fresh raspberries. We both chose the pork stir fry (good value at £7.90) and everything tasted crisp and fresh. We liked it so much that we took two slices of their lovely Dorset Apple Cake and Marmalade Bread Pudding away with us. Being a gallery, there were paintings and craft works for sale as well. We chose a new mascot for our caravan. If you are in the area, I really recommend the Tangerine Cafe.

An amazing cafe just off the picturesque Beaminster square! Superb homemade food, good sized portions, and delicious coffee. The hosts are lovely, and this is a must visit cafe if you are in the area!

Adorable little café with a few vegan option in the small village of Beamister, the café itself is very cozy with different rooms and a lovely garden (it was winter when we visited so we enjoyed the garden from inside), the kitchen is visible so it feels like a family gathering. Service was very attentive and helpful. We had the vegan Sunday roast and the toast with creamed corn, both very good.

Visited the Tangerine Cafe yesterday for the first time on our way down to West Bay (a short hop). The cafe is a perfect haven of calm with a cosy coffee shop, light and quiet orangery and a beautiful tea garden. There are also books and art work for sale. The food is varied, original and very tasty. We each had something different and really enjoyed the coconut peanut butter French toast and lovely fresh strawberries, Greek salad, scrambled eggs, French toast and bacon. The coffee is very good indeed. Sue, Chris and the team were very welcoming and we will definitely be back soon.

What a lovely cafe! We came in for a coffee and Dorset Apple Cake and ended up staying for lunch. Great atmosphere, wonderful service and the food is amazing!! We had the avocado rarebit which was brilliant - really tasty and served with a lovely salad and slaw. Definitely recommend; we'll definitely be coming back.

Came for a leisurely coffee but ended up treating myself to the Rarebit! It was DELICIOUS! 😋 The only negative thing was there wasn't more of the tasty side salad (so so good ) 😁 I am super happy to have found such a gem in a local area 🙌 Ps the service was so friendly - thank you

Went for a Mexican and half price cocktails on a Wednesday evening. Mexican is cooked in a van in the car park, but served in the bar/conservatory - excellent food (real cutlery but takeaway boxes).

Had lunch one day and drinks another. Great place. Nice atmosphere. Pleasantly upmarket without being pretentious.

A stellar experience. Lovely service from the team, who clearly are passionate about what they do. The steak I had was maybe the best I have ever been served - a lovely cut and cooked perfectly. Just a great experience.

Really well looked after when they were busy with a birthday tea party. Delicious cream tea in a beautiful garden. Excellent staff. Made really welcome. Looks a pleasant place to stay too.

A lovely place which such an amazing team! We were well looked after celebrating our first wedding anniversary and the crispy lionsmane mushroom dish at the restaurant was one of the best I have ever had! We had the most perfect stay.

Cilla & Camilla

Rating: 4.4 (107) Price Level:
Popped into Cilla nd Camilla close to the closing time, however we need not have worried the staff were responsive and helpful so we were served before they closed. Its a bright little spot at the back of the shop with an external encloded area if the weather is good (wasnt for us so had to sit inside). They had very lovely looking cakes which we managed to resist but did go for one of the sandwiches which was tasty and very filling.

Just good service with a charm and style. Great Dorset ham sandwiches and delicious coffee. Really interesting shop attached. Made most welcome.
Rating: 4 / 5
The food was freshly prepared, and as always delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful. I met three friends for lunch and afterwards we had a leisurely browse around the shop which has an amazing selection of things to buy, from clothes, candles, cushions, scented soaps, gifts and cards, to glass ware.

I dropped in mid this afternoon for a quick coffee after a lot of driving. Beaminster is a beautiful village, well kept, surrounded by green fields and a magnificent church tower, with a wonderful town square. I found this gem of a local gift shop and cafe during my adventure. The cafe is hidden away at the back of the shop. It opens up to a nice court yard with head height views of the surrounding hills. I was under a large umbrella (plenty of shade for a hot day, or rainy one). Very friendly staff and good service. I had an iced coffee and a very nice lemon cake (the last slice!). Lastly a few locals were there, nice community.
