Handy Builder has done several jobs for us this year: insulating, plastering, fitting new radiators and sockets, laying wood flooring and fitting new skirting boards. He was reliable, friendly and communicative and we were always impressed with the quality of his work. Highly recommended!

Sean was amazing from start to finish. Great communication. He was great at suggesting ideas and working around tricky situations. Really knowledgeable. Very clean and tidy. Really trustworthy. Work carried out: fixed some plumbing issues by draining the whole heating system, tiling, put in extra plug sockets, channelled in our TV into the wall, put up chunky floating shelves and mantel beam and built some amazing built in cabinets from scratch. We would (and absolutely will do) have Sean back for more work in the future and would recommend him to family and friends!

Luke is an absolute fantastic person. He turned up on time got the job done quickly, was very respectful of the property and cleaned/swept up after he was done. Would I recommend this tradesperson? Most definitely. I’m about to book him for another job with more in the pipeline. Update 22/05/2025: Luke has been back at least a couple times and done some more jobs for me including hanging an internal door, and today a little bit of plumbing and moss removal from the roof. I honestly cannot fault this guy at all. Gets the job done quickly and very good quality work, I would highly recommend him!

We used Luke to install a Head Board and Ottoman Bed for a client. The client had original booked a 2 man white glove service which included delivery and installation. However they did not provide the agreed service so our client was left stranded with the delivery taking up her downstairs hallway. I contacted Luke having read his reviews and he was local to the address where the work needed to be carried out. Luke was fantastic from start to finish. He moved work around to get the job done so we could keep our client happy. Kept me updated throughout the process with clear and up to date information and completed the work to the highest standards making our client and in turn us very happy. Lakes Carpentry and Builders have converted my garage into a room for my model railway layout. This work included moving a door, installing insullation, new floor, ceiling and walls. Building storage and a basebooard to build the tracks over. They have also built a new brick built shed and replaced the facia on the rear of the garage. I am very happy with their work.

Great communication at all stages. The team are friendly, know their stuff and are very helpful. We had our garage floor replaced. They fitted us in quite promptly and were very reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend them.

We’ve used Lakes builders for two jobs, a garage conversion with a small but complex extension and then additional internal improvements including new doors throughout the house. We received clear quotes and information at each stage, with excellent ideas given by Bill to ensure a seamless integration of the extension with the rest of the house. We found Bill and all his team to be friendly and professional with high quality workmanship. Whenever a snag was found Bill always had suggestions for how we could address it. We’ve been very pleased with the work completed and Lakes will continue to be my first point of call for any work needed in future.

HET provided a comprehensive design service they took us through the process step by step and were very patient. They listened to our needs and provided a deign that worked well for us as a family. The quality of end product was excellent, we would recommend.

We used HET for both design and Project Management for an extension to the back of the house. Service was very good and with the contract being based on fixed price milestones we knew where we were with our budget all way through the process. Communication could have been better at times when certain tasks went overdue or questions were raised but overall we were happy with the service that HET provided.
