Played here on 07/01 and despite the weather we had you would think we were in spring the course was in such good condition. One of the best courses i have played. From ringing up to booking it and turning up to see Alex in the pro shop when we arrived the whole experience was incredible Cant wait to go back

First time at Huddersfield Golf Club and was really impressed. Course built within the grounds of Fixby Hall, which doubles as clubhouse and events venue. Elevation changes on every hole makes it pretty dramatic. Views of Huddersfield and surrounding area when you get onto the 11th tee. Course had been closed previous day due to rain, but there was no evidence of that apart from the greens were running a little slow. Some monster par 4s, including the 1st at 465 yards off the yellows tees. Plenty of bunkering and undulating greens make it a real, but enjoyable challenge.

In the context of the weather this year, the greens are so good, almost like velvet. The rough this year has grown so heavily the staff should be commended for their efforts in keeping it under control. Richard Brooker. Member

Came with my society and really enjoyed it. Course played really well considering the amount of rain we have had. Greens were true and quick! Only negative is there was no catering at the time. Well worth a visit though. Will be bringing the society back in future.

Four Seasons Landscaping Grounds Maintenance
227 Gillroyd Ln, Heights, Linthwaite, Huddersfield HD7 5SS, UK | General Contractor P: 07990 796873
Rating: 4.5 (20) Price Level:
Four Seasons carried out work to our Garden earlier this year including new stone walls, stairs, patio and pizza oven area. The job involved some excavation and they were very organised with skips and materials. Matthew, Luke & Liam did a superb job and weāre absolutely thrilled with the result. We liked to be involved with decisions and kept up to date as the job progressed and they patiently discussed ideas and came up with solutions with professionalism and humour. Weāve had work done by other companies previously that wasnāt done right leaving loose flags among other issues but Four Seasons have done the job right and we have no concerns whatsoever over the standard and finish of the work. They are also thoroughly nice people and we wouldnāt hesitate to recommend them or use their services again.

Matt and his team have been maintaining my garden and smallholding for years now. They are 100% reliable and go out of their way to fit in any extra jobs I ask for. Iāve recommended them many times and theyāve never let me down! Thanks guys.

The team recently completed the design and build of our new garden. We are delighted with the final result. From day one they have been friendly, helpful, flexible and very good value. The quality of the work is first class. We would be happy to recommend Mathew and his team for your landscaping projects.

Excellent workmanship, communication, great work ethic by all members of the Four Seasons team . Luke, Liam and Adam have transformed our garden into a great social space with raised beds, integral seating, patio and utility areas. If you are looking for a Garden landscaping company this team definitely will provide you with quality at a competitive price. We would highly recommend.

We are delighted with the work carried out on our garden. It was a big job, turning a rather sad & neglected garden into a veritable oasis with a new patio, lawns, pathways, wildflower area, flower beds and planting. Matthew, Luke, Liam & Adam were professional, good natured and helpful throughout. As a relative novice to gardening on this scale I was very grateful for the advice and help that was readily available. I can't wait for Spring when we will really be able to see the results of their hard work.

I Have been going to Oaklands Dental since they took over from the previous dentist. I am extremely happy with the service. From the receptionist Julie who is always very welcoming to the dental assistants I feel very cared for. Mr Hussain is very informative and has done an excellent job in fixing my teeth. And a very nice person. An excellent dental service !
Rating: 5 / 5
I came in today to see Dr Shaikh and nurse Faria. I am generally very anxious of dentists. I can confidently say that I would return to this dentist. The receptionist Julie from the start was very nice and then when it came to my dental treatment my dentist and the nurse were both incredibly patient, caring and put my anxieties at ease. I did not feel judged. I am really thankful for such a positive experience and would come back here!

I have just recently been to Oaklands Dentist for Airflow Cleaning after having a conversation with an employee there, Julie Dawson, I decided to come to Oaklands for my teeth cleaning. The place is easy to get to just being a couple of minutes away from the town centre. I parked in Ringway Industrial Estate, just across from the surgery, was greeted with a friendly, polite and professional receptionist, who took my details and I then waited to be called for my appointment. My appointment was with Deborah Mansell the dental hygienist. I am a nervous patient but was reassured all through my appointment. Everything was clearly explained, what and how was expected. This is the first time Iāve visited here, and the first time I had my teeth cleaned. I came away having clean teeth, feeling as ease and happy with the treatment. I will definitely be returning here, and would recommend anyone to come here too. The place, staff and process was all done professionally, friendly and I felt relaxed and comfortable all the time. Thank you Oaklands for being so kind, and giving my teeth the well deserved clean they needed.

Canāt recommend Oaklands Dental Practice highly enough. My son had an ongoing issue which required a skilled and knowledgable dentist with a caring approach to patient care. Oaklands certainly didnāt disappoint. The help, support, guidance and peace of mind theyāve given us has been priceless and we canāt thank them enough.

Such a great day out as always. Only played 9 holes all par 4 and 3. The course is such a lovely course with inviting and forgiving fairways. The greens are harder during dryer weather but still slightly challenging in the wet conditions. Pricing is fair too. The staff here are soo friendly and very helpful. And the golf shop here is reasonably priced.
Rating: 5 / 5
Lovely golf course some tricky holes, kept in immaculate condition looks really nice, The greens have plenty of slope and are smooth and fast. As slick as you'll find at 3 times the price.

I played here today with a view to joining for me and my lad. I was told before hand that the greens had been ninja tined by the lady in the shop I already knew, but itās lovely that they cared to inform me. There was young member looked to be playing on his own so I asked if he fancied a game and politely joined me which was great, he guided me around and told me about the club. Overall very friendly welcome, practice area and range looked great. Course was in super condition, Iām super picky and I couldnāt find anything to complain about, greens are receptive but not soft or spongy, around the greens was as youād expect, revetted bunkers were hard but looked absolutely mint with the turf layering. Tee boxes were all flat and tidy with tee bins and divot mix. The course was quiet although there were people playing I didnāt see much of anyone, we played a good pace around 4hrs no one chasing us down and no one playing slow infront. And the weather was superb. I would highly recommend also I received a very good price with a county card.

We all had an excellent day and are hopefully playing our Seniors competition here next year š¤. Everything was spot on from our bacon sandwich and tea and coffee on arrival. The condition of all the course, tees, fairways and greens. The friendly service from the staff. The foid afterwards was excellent The thing we struggle with most was getting to grips with the difficulties of the greens š«. They were in excellent condition but very challenging š . Lovely day thank you š

Willow Valley Golf
Highmoor Ln, Brighouse HD6 4JB, UK | Golf Course P: 01274 878624
Rating: 4.4 (684) Price Level:
At Willow Valley Golf Club there are 3 golf courses, a driving range, a moderately sized practice putting area and a short game area. The driving range isn't the smartest ive seen but it is functional and is a welcome practice and/or warm up facility. The other practice facilities are great and well maintained. There are also teaching professionals who offer both individual and (very reasonably priced) group tuition. I have had some coaching from Joe at WVGC and I can highly recommend his services. I have played all three courses many times and they offer a good variety of challenge. 1) Fountain Ridge: This is the 9 hole course. It comprises of 6 Par 3 holes and 3 par 4s. All of the holes are relatively short but there is a nice bit of variety for such a small course (2 dogleg holes - one left and one right, some slight elevation changes and a few well placed bunkers). The course is very beginner friendly but is also good fun for golfers of all abilities; I sometimes play the 9 hole course if I'm short on time but still want to have a knock around. Be aware; it is a popular course and being so beginner friendly means you may well encounter players of a poorer standard or very young players etc. However everyone has to start somewhere (and this is a great place to do just that) so as long as you accept that on busy days you might be waiting a little, there should be no issue. 2) Pine Valley: The first of two 18 hole courses. This I would say is a good step up from the fountain ridge course, providing longer holes and more of a "full" golfing experience, but is still beginner friendly. With a slope rating of 97 this course is very forgiving. Most greens are open on approach and not heavily guarded by bunkers etc. The bunkers there are though, are well placed in areas, and at distances that are fitting for the beginner - intermediate golfer. Better golfers will not find a great challenge here but will still find a fun and enjoyable round of golf. I like to play Pine when I just want a relaxing round. I will say that the Pine course is very popular and can start to suffer from heavy use as the season goes on; tee boxes can be particularly worn at times, though it would be tough to keep up with so much traffic. My only real issue with Pine is that there are a lot of casual golfers who either don't know or don't care about the rules and etiquette of golf, meaning on occasion you can be stuck being groups who ignore much faster groups (or individual players) and insist on hacking their way slowly around the course as you stand on the tee tearing your hair out. I appreciate everyone is playing as well as they are able, it's just that there are rules in place specifically to tackle this issue. Failure to repair pitchmarks also seems to be a popular characteristic of some of the less golf-savvy clientele. 3) Willow Valley: the "Championship Course". This full 18 hole course provides a good challenge for any player. With a slope rating of between 129 and 137 (depending on tee box) it is a great test. There is a lot of water on this course, some tight fairways and an interesting variety of holes in terms of shape, elevation, length and hazards. Simply hitting driver on every hole is likely to get you into trouble and thinking your way around the course is advisable. I have been reliably informed the club actually removed a number of bunkers from the course a few years ago as it was felt to be too challenging! During the season this course is well maintained, the greens are typically quick and roll beautifully and I would recommend a round here to anyone who is serious about their game. I will add that, out of season, all three of the courses can get VERY wet and boggy in places - I have lost balls in the centre of the fairways at times due to balls plugging so deeply. However, there is a refund policy clearly displayed and the course is regularly inspected and will be closed if conditions get too bad. All in all Willow Valley Golf is a great club with a wide range of facilities and options for all abilities.
Rating: 5 / 5
Unbelievable golf course. In amazing condition after the weather turned. Also, how on earth can you get a green fee for 22.50 here. I've paid triple that at some places than don't get anywhere close to this. A must play.

Amazing! My first experience golfing with a friend and it couldnāt have gone any better. The location is absolutely perfect with lots of well looked after fields and very friendly golfers. Everything is well spaced out and the practice facilities are clean and to the point. Ample car parking and great atmosphere. Highly recommended!
