Was really impressed with W&P, not only for their beautiful food but also for how they looked after us a large group booking, especially dealing with the bills. Each of us had our own bill, no faffing around doing calculations, who had what, the lovely waitress had sorted it all for us, it was such a breeze. Thank you. Back to the food, there were great preorder food options for a group booking, they catered for gluten free and vegetarians well. High quality, fresh ingredients. Probably the best falafel dish I've ever had, a mountain of food! Had mocktail options for the drivers, refreshing to see not to be full of sugar either đ Will love to come again. Thank you for having us

Unusual place in many ways. Decor is fun. Cosy upstairs with quite a lot of seating. Food was excellent. Every course was delicious. Didnât think Iâd manage all three but I did. Had nice local beer (canned). Tricky access. Either up a cobbled steep street or steep steps and once inside more steep steps to eating area. We needed to pay ÂŁ10 a head deposit to book but thatâs kind of nice as your meal seems cheaper on the night. Staff friendly.

Wow, I wanted to do something a little different for my birthday this year and the whippet and pickle didnât disappoint. I booked a bottomless brunch for 4. We had more than enough food, a brunch board and a waffle of our choosing. Excellent range of drinks. It wasnât like the usual bottomless drinks where you leave legless and hungry. We left feeling full and happy. Thank you to the waitressâ. A wonderful day with good friends, good conversation (that I could hear that wasnât drowned out by loud music) and fantastic food.

The best bottomless brunch! From start to end the service has been 5 star. Cannot thank the staff enough for the effort they put into the brunch. Will be back and would recommend to anyone querying where to go in holmfirth.

Popped into the Hideout a few weeks ago for a quick drink with friends and like it so much I came back last night for a sharing board with another friend. The food was delicious and plenty for 2 of us. A warm welcome and a lovely chilled atmosphere which is rare for Holmfirth on a Friday night. The Hideout should be busier than it was for a weekend but then I guess the feel of the place would totally change.

Popped into this little bar while in Holmfirth. Quite small so we went upstairs to another smaller area. Only a couple of tables but what a wonderful little area with lots of quirky things scattered around. Service was quick & the staff friendly. ÂŁ23 for 4 drinks was probably a little more expensive than the average (for the area) but worth the experience If you visit, make sure you also experience their toilet ...... best public toilet I've ever had the pleasure of using đ

Called ahead as I wanted to register my shynx'. The receptionist was really knowledgeable, and registration was easy. Cats were really calm with the male vet, who was great and allayed any concerns I had about spay/neuter for this breed.

Excellent and knowledgeable consultation. Very friendly staff providing a first class service.

Thank you so much to Zack for picking up on Babyâs heart murmur after two vets missed it!! (Not Donaldsonâs). Somerset Road were also brilliant and my little boy is home and fine. â€ïž Donaldsonâs may not be the cheapest but the vets are brilliant and I completely trust them with all 3 of my babies. Thank you.

Stopped here several times both day and evening. Always a friendly greeting. Plenty of space and seating. Comfy couches at the far end are a winner. A few kiddies games down there too. Solid range of craft ale and beers on tap to try out. Ask behind the bar for a good description if you are not the 'just give it a go' type or even a diddy sample. Do friendly. Guest traders come in to do some interesting street food style menus.
Rating: 5 / 5
I visited The Fourth Fiend with a party from work, and Rad Burger were cooking. They are a "pop-up" burger business, and the kitchens of the Fourth Fiend were hosting them that evening. Other nights they have other companies cooking, but Rad Burger was outstanding. I had a nacho chilli veggie burger and masala fries and they were so flavoursome. The pub had a great atmosphere, friendly and merry. We joined the quiz, which was really good fun, especially the quiz host singing garbled songs for us to try and identify !

Absolutely great place! It's unique venues like this that make the small West Yorkshire villages special. Great, friendly service, superb beer & food (the majority locally sourced, including the craft beer). The interior of a very historic building has been sympathetically changed into an environment that successfully combines the vintage & comfortable with the more modern & trendy.

Great place for any wildlife we took a collared dove but unfortunately it died on the way there ..... The lady there was there to meet us and she said it had died of canker. It grows in their throat and they can't eat or drink. So sad but at least we tried. Highly recommend them

Following the heartbreaking decision we had to make to help our beautiful (almost) 14 year old boy Axel go to permanent sleep, I canât thank Sarah and Danielle enough for their lovely, caring nature, on what was a truly sad and devastating day... Their calmness and explanation of the whole process and what to expect, helped prepare us for Axelâs final journey. He hated going to the vets, so we wanted him to be at home, in calm and familiar, stress-free surroundings. He passed away peacefully and with dignity, laying in his favourite spot in the garden in the sunshine, getting the head and ear tickles he loved so much and surrounded by the people who loved him most. We really couldnât have asked for a better send off for Axel đđ¶đ Thank you for making such an emotionally difficult time that bit easier to bear đđŒ

UPDATE: 01 Oct 2024. This is a very difficult thing for me to write. But I wanted to publicly thank My Home Vets, Olivia and Maaike for showing absolute empathy with our cat MambrĂș. Unfortunately, two weeks ago, MambrĂș suddenly started having seizures out of nowhere. In the morning she ate her breakfast normally and 20 minutes later when she was sleeping, she had some kind of hallucinations and then a seizure. She had asked me to cover her up and I put a freshly washed blanket on her that had a strong smell of detergent so I thought that was the reason. The rest of the day went by normally, until 1:30 in the morning, when MambrĂș had another seizure. I didn't know what to do because I couldn't call My Home Vets because of the time, however, I requested an appointment through the questionnaire on their website and explained the situation to them. Unfortunately, MambrĂș had another seizure an hour later so we had to take her to the nearest veterinary hospital for emergency care. My Home Vet contacted me very early in the morning telling me that they could give me a priority appointment for that same day around 9:00am. I thanked them and explained that we had to take the kitten to another veterinary center. Oliva asked me to keep her updated. After that, our precious kitty got worse so we had to make the hard decision to euthanize her. I don't know how I found the strength but I contacted My Home Vet to let them know that MambrĂș was not going to need them anymore. After that, something totally unexpected happened for me. I received a beautiful hand-written condolence card in the mail with some seeds. I honestly didn't expect this. THANK YOU, THANK YOU so much Olivia and Maaike. You have no idea how much that gesture of empathy meant to us. Knowing that MambrĂș was not just a number to you and that you actually care about your furry patients, only shows the great quality of human beings that you are. Once again, I 100% recommend My Home Vet as the best veterinarians in the area. Be completely assured that your furry children will be in the best hands. Thank you forever. MambrĂș and her human parents. --o0o-- Dec 2021:The best service we have ever had! We were users of Pets at Home veterinarians in Huddersfield and these days we call to book an appointment for the annual vaccination of our 16-year-old cat MambrĂș. Pets at Home told us that there was a national shortage of vaccines and that we could only have the appointment for the month of February 2022. We worry because the vaccines expired on December the 23th of 2021 and our kitten is a foreign kitten, therefore, maintaining the vaccination on time is one of the requirements to enter and leave any country. We decided to search online for other vets and luckily we came across My Home Vet. We called yesterday (Wednesday) and they gave us the appointment for today Friday. Incredible! We are very grateful, since they came to our house (very punctual by the way), vaccinated our kitten, weighed her, checked her teeth, and her heart. The appointment was extremely fast (I think no more than 10 minutes) I would have liked to talk a little more hahaha, but considering the COVID situation and how exposed they are going house to house, it seems very sensible. Thank you very much Maaike and Olivia! We were able to pay for the service by card without using cash, they gave me the payment receipt and even sent me the invoice by email. More cannot be asked! Companion Care Vets just lost a customer.

My dog need his annual boosters, and due to my disability Iâm unable to drive. This service was so less stressful than trying to get him in a taxi to the local vets, for his injections. Two lovely ladies came and did them, and he was so chilled out and happy. They were very respectful and friendly. Would strongly recommend them, and would always be my go to vet for him now. Great service and glad I came across them.

Highly recommend My Home Vet. They came to my house to put my elderly cat to sleep. I was absolutely dreading it but they were so lovely and really put my mind at ease. They explained everything that would happen and reassured my my cat would feel no pain. The whole procedure was over quickly and I take great comfort in knowing that my darling cat went to sleep on his favourite rug in the living room, surrounded by his family. I honestly couldn't recommend them more, thank you so much for making such an upsetting time as peaceful and lovely as it could have been.

I cannot thank serenity vets services enough. My fur baby of almost 17 years passed over rainbow bridge on Friday 17th January 2025 and the empathy and compassion that Vicky showed was second to none. She explained everything about what would happen and nothing was rushed, it was all in our time. As with most pet owners that have to euthanise their beloved pet I was guilt ridden but she even said she thought it was the right time. I cannot put into words all the things I want to say but if anyone ever asked me for recommendations I would say 100% these Thank you for making the most horrible decision and situation bearable

I honestly cannot recommend Serenity Vets enough. Losing my 17 year old dog Norman has been heartbreaking for me and my family but Serenity Vets made the whole process as calm, dignified and comfortable for Norman as possible. The vet who came to our home to help Norm onto his last journey was kind and respectful and we didn't feel rushed in any way at all. We decided to have Norm individually cremated through the Vets and part of this meant they also brought Norm's ashes back to us, along with the blanket he was wrapped in when he passed away and also a lovely hand written card which was an unexpected kindness. I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping us to make sure Norm felt loved and safe in his final moments. Your professionalism and kindness will stay with me forever. Thank you Lucy

Always amazing with our Bailey who's a 14 week old miniature dachshund. He doesn't get nervous visiting and they always take good care of him every time we visit! Always quick to see you and easy enough to book appointments. Managed to get one this morning by calling up at 8.30am to see if there were any appointments. Managed to get one at 10am which was amazing. Poor Bailey's anal glands were full and needed to be expressed but the vets took very good care of him.

Excellent vets with great service from both the vet and admin team. Have been my vet of choice for 3 dogs now stretching back over nearly 20 years. Building is easy to reach, sharing an access road with the car wash, but with dedicated parking and a small grass area at the front. Ramp access to the front door is easy to manage for the mobility impared. Inside is clean, bright and airy, with toilets available and a small waiting area, including an area especially for those with smaller pets that is marked as a dog-free zone. Reception / admin staff are polite and helpful, greeting customers warmly and happy to say hello to pets and try to put them at ease. I've never had to wait more than a minute or two before being called into the examination rooms. All of the vets I've seen are equally nice, friendly and cheerful, and empathic towards the animals they're treating. The examination rooms are 'compact', but big enough for the job at hand, clean and tidy. Whenever I've taken my dogs in, the vet has always taken the time to try and treat them as kindly as possible, making sure there's a little treat to be had for each injection taken or for being poked and prodded - but it's little things like letting the dog take a moment to sniff the stethescope before they're checked over that I think makes going to the vet a non-traumatic experience for them. Vets have always been happy to discuss treatment options with me and make recommendations for their care, and the prices seem fair and reasonable in my experience. Strongly recommend.

Had a lovely brunch here with my wife and our friend. Fantastic welcome from the attentive and friendly staff. Menu is broad but not overwhelming, with options for all tastes. Coffee is high quality and made for those who appreciate a very good cup. Food was made by people who care about flavour and pesentation, and you can see and taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients. The service was quick and easy, and felt tended to, but not pressured. Atmosphere is lovely, with super chill music and pleasant decoration. Overall; clean, tasty, sensible prices and lovely people. Will 100% go back.

Brilliant spot to eat. I have been here a couple times recently after going for a walk. First of all the staff are lovely and welcoming. The variety of food is great and i ended up choosing off the specials. I had a Korean pork belly and beef burger which was 10/10, canât recommend highly enough. Iâve also been before and had the breakfast skillet which is also a great fry up. All the food is well priced and good portions. Thanks

We have eaten here many times, but last trip we brought my sister who is coeliac. She thought everything was excellent, and was very impressed with the quality of the gluten free meals. Her only regret? That she didn't live closer so she could come every Sunday for brunch đ
