Reviews
We enjoyed a superb stay in fantastic, spotlessly clean, quiet accommodation, with lovely views of nearby landmarks. Perfect for a visit to the opera house. The location is great, central to everything of note in Buxton and lots of stylish restaurants and bars nearby. Breakfast in the tearoom is extra to the room rate, but was great value and quality. Shout out to the polite, confident and helpful staff that checked us in, carried our case up the stairs, managed our breakfast and checked us out. This place is wonderfully managed and we can’t wait to return.
The offer at number 6 has been continually excellent on every visit we have made over 20 years.
The menu is interesting, the salads delicious and the specials always have something different to tempt you.
Well done.
Stopped for a cappuccino on a blustery NYE morning. Allowed the dogs to go upstairs seating. Very welcoming and good service.
Wonderful afternoon tea. The bottomless tea and coffee and homemade scone- possibly the best I have ever eaten. Serve was excellent. Thoroughly recommend and we will be back to sample the cake selection !
Had afternoon tea there one day, and light supper the next day.
Light supper was 5 stars. I had a smoked salmon sandwich which came with vegetable crisps and salad at a very reasonable £9.95. Fresh and delicious. My partner had a quiche which came with salad, which he also said was great.
I'd only give the afternoon tea 3.5 stars. It looked lovely on the plate. The sandwiches were lovely - fresh and well filled. Great choice of hot drinks which you could have an unlimited supply of. The scones were a disappointment. One was cooked through, but the other was undercooked, doughy and inedible. Some cakes were great (Victoria sandwich, meringue, carrot cake) and the fresh fruit dotted around was a nice touch, but the other cakes weren't that great. There was really too much (we had most of the cake the next day). It would have been better value and quality to order a sandwich and a slice of cake.
