Played here last week and I have to say what an amazing course! The condition is amazing, greens were well manicured as well as the fairways. Well designed course, a good challenge with some inviting driving holes. Hard to believe this is a municipal course. Members were friendly, I would totally recommend this course.

This is one of the Gems of Golf that should not be overlooked, we worshiped the place - Driving Range, 9 holes for learners but it is a great challenge and a fabulous 18 hole parkland course and on top of all that great club house and well stocked pro-shop. We moved to the coast many years ago and this is the one course I miss the most, apart from Ogden Golf Club Halifax.... Derek

Been coming here for years. The course is in okay condition in winter, better in the summer and the greens are in great condition all year round. For the money you could spend twice as much and be happy. Golf shop is always stocked up, staff are friendly, and they pros give great lessons.

This course is beautiful with great history. Nathan, the pro was so kind, even after running late because our rental car broke down. We didnāt specify that we needed rental clubs in the booking and he still ran to the basement and put some together while his other 2 sets were booked out already. I couldnāt recommend this beautiful course more. Itās unique features as an Alister McKenzie course brings holes that crossover like a plane runway. You can play the original amen corner. This is a must play at a great price!

Decent course, testing walk. Course is in pretty good condition. Not particularly challenging for medium/long hitters with a driver not required on any holes. Good variety of par 3s and a couple of drivable par 4s. 2nd/11th and 9th/18th are very severely uphill which will be challenging to walk for unfit/older golfers (weāre talking a good 70m elevation change in one hole. Iām fit and was out of puff by the end). Greens in decent condition, fairly paced for February. Winter tees among the best Iāve played. Can imagine the 5th/14th is a nightmare in-season/on weekends due to walkers/runners/dogs as a public right of way runs the whole length of the hole & across it. Would be a good course for beginners/shorter hitters but itās a hard walk.

Great 9 hole gem thatās in good condition, greens are great but slow. Good customer service and decent prices all round! My mum and sister were able to walk scenic public footpaths in and around the course while we played golf.

We all had an excellent day and are hopefully playing our Seniors competition here next year š¤. Everything was spot on from our bacon sandwich and tea and coffee on arrival. The condition of all the course, tees, fairways and greens. The friendly service from the staff. The foid afterwards was excellent The thing we struggle with most was getting to grips with the difficulties of the greens š«. They were in excellent condition but very challenging š . Lovely day thank you š

Such a great day out as always. Only played 9 holes all par 4 and 3. The course is such a lovely course with inviting and forgiving fairways. The greens are harder during dryer weather but still slightly challenging in the wet conditions. Pricing is fair too. The staff here are soo friendly and very helpful. And the golf shop here is reasonably priced.

I played here today with a view to joining for me and my lad. I was told before hand that the greens had been ninja tined by the lady in the shop I already knew, but itās lovely that they cared to inform me. There was young member looked to be playing on his own so I asked if he fancied a game and politely joined me which was great, he guided me around and told me about the club. Overall very friendly welcome, practice area and range looked great. Course was in super condition, Iām super picky and I couldnāt find anything to complain about, greens are receptive but not soft or spongy, around the greens was as youād expect, revetted bunkers were hard but looked absolutely mint with the turf layering. Tee boxes were all flat and tidy with tee bins and divot mix. The course was quiet although there were people playing I didnāt see much of anyone, we played a good pace around 4hrs no one chasing us down and no one playing slow infront. And the weather was superb. I would highly recommend also I received a very good price with a county card.

New to golf and visited a few times now with my 16yr old son. Always a warm welcome, not made to feel uncomfortable with not being a member (yet). Out on the course everyone again is always friendly and understanding of us being new to the game. The course is kept in excellent condition. We both recommend visiting

As a golf club , I don't know. We went for a function, a first birthday š š„³. Very impressed with the location , car parking is super close to the building, the function room was perfect, roomy, and plenty of natural light through the large windows ( early afternoon for us ) . The bar was friendly with plenty of choice, they even catered for the event which was surprisingly nice. Over all highly recommended if you need a place fir a function šš¾. Enjoy if you do .

Went for a 50th Anniversary meal, the staff were really friendly and helpful from the booking and organising the menu stage. It was well organised and a lot of people said they'd enjoyed the food and would go back here again. It's dog friendly as well so we're thinking of calling again when we're out.

Willow Valley Golf
Highmoor Ln, Brighouse HD6 4JB, UK | Golf Course P: 01274 878624
Rating: 4.4 (684) Price Level:
At Willow Valley Golf Club there are 3 golf courses, a driving range, a moderately sized practice putting area and a short game area. The driving range isn't the smartest ive seen but it is functional and is a welcome practice and/or warm up facility. The other practice facilities are great and well maintained. There are also teaching professionals who offer both individual and (very reasonably priced) group tuition. I have had some coaching from Joe at WVGC and I can highly recommend his services. I have played all three courses many times and they offer a good variety of challenge. 1) Fountain Ridge: This is the 9 hole course. It comprises of 6 Par 3 holes and 3 par 4s. All of the holes are relatively short but there is a nice bit of variety for such a small course (2 dogleg holes - one left and one right, some slight elevation changes and a few well placed bunkers). The course is very beginner friendly but is also good fun for golfers of all abilities; I sometimes play the 9 hole course if I'm short on time but still want to have a knock around. Be aware; it is a popular course and being so beginner friendly means you may well encounter players of a poorer standard or very young players etc. However everyone has to start somewhere (and this is a great place to do just that) so as long as you accept that on busy days you might be waiting a little, there should be no issue. 2) Pine Valley: The first of two 18 hole courses. This I would say is a good step up from the fountain ridge course, providing longer holes and more of a "full" golfing experience, but is still beginner friendly. With a slope rating of 97 this course is very forgiving. Most greens are open on approach and not heavily guarded by bunkers etc. The bunkers there are though, are well placed in areas, and at distances that are fitting for the beginner - intermediate golfer. Better golfers will not find a great challenge here but will still find a fun and enjoyable round of golf. I like to play Pine when I just want a relaxing round. I will say that the Pine course is very popular and can start to suffer from heavy use as the season goes on; tee boxes can be particularly worn at times, though it would be tough to keep up with so much traffic. My only real issue with Pine is that there are a lot of casual golfers who either don't know or don't care about the rules and etiquette of golf, meaning on occasion you can be stuck being groups who ignore much faster groups (or individual players) and insist on hacking their way slowly around the course as you stand on the tee tearing your hair out. I appreciate everyone is playing as well as they are able, it's just that there are rules in place specifically to tackle this issue. Failure to repair pitchmarks also seems to be a popular characteristic of some of the less golf-savvy clientele. 3) Willow Valley: the "Championship Course". This full 18 hole course provides a good challenge for any player. With a slope rating of between 129 and 137 (depending on tee box) it is a great test. There is a lot of water on this course, some tight fairways and an interesting variety of holes in terms of shape, elevation, length and hazards. Simply hitting driver on every hole is likely to get you into trouble and thinking your way around the course is advisable. I have been reliably informed the club actually removed a number of bunkers from the course a few years ago as it was felt to be too challenging! During the season this course is well maintained, the greens are typically quick and roll beautifully and I would recommend a round here to anyone who is serious about their game. I will add that, out of season, all three of the courses can get VERY wet and boggy in places - I have lost balls in the centre of the fairways at times due to balls plugging so deeply. However, there is a refund policy clearly displayed and the course is regularly inspected and will be closed if conditions get too bad. All in all Willow Valley Golf is a great club with a wide range of facilities and options for all abilities.

Unbelievable golf course. In amazing condition after the weather turned. Also, how on earth can you get a green fee for 22.50 here. I've paid triple that at some places than don't get anywhere close to this. A must play.

Amazing! My first experience golfing with a friend and it couldnāt have gone any better. The location is absolutely perfect with lots of well looked after fields and very friendly golfers. Everything is well spaced out and the practice facilities are clean and to the point. Ample car parking and great atmosphere. Highly recommended!
