Quaint pub in the South downs, located in such a beautiful setting. They have a roaring fire place outside to sit and the food was delicious 😋

I celebrated my 60th birthday at ‘The Duke’ for 30 friends it was absolutely fabulous. The food was really excellent and the service fantastic. I can not recommend this venue more highly. Thanks so much Simon and the team for making my birthday so special

Classic country pub with good restaurant standard food. Great atmosphere, but a bit hard to find... Not cheap - £40 pp for 2 courses and one drink each, including coffees and 10% service, which was NOT included by default. Very popular on a Friday lunchtime. Booking probably essential. But recommended!

Absolutely amazing local pub. With a gourmet kitchen. If is a nice weather you can enjoy your food and drink in the lovely and huge garden they have. If you want to eat inside in the old part of the pub (highly recommended) you have to book a table in advance, they only have 4 tables there. After you order they bring a smal appetizer while you waiting for the food. We got a coliflor soup shot, and some homemade Mediterranean buns with a homemade creamy marmite butter. We got the special dish of the day, the tomahawk steak for 2. Was absolutely amazing. A must to try are the Buddington Farm triple cooked chunky chips. A good thing to say about this place, they have draught Guinness 0% alcohol.

Just going by the exterior look of a pub then this one is picture perfect. The grounds are a delight to walk around, with so many things to take in as you meander through winding pathways, passing fish and a very enticing outside fireplace. And with the sound of a stream trickling it's way through the grounds just adds a touch of zen like tranquility to this charmingly old traditional English pub. The staff are super welcoming and the bar is quirky and small which only encourages you to speak with fellow drinkers that have probably been coming here for many a year....and it's easy to understand why. You can also eat here, and by all accounts the Sunday roast is a must. But you do need to book a few weeks in advance, which says it all. There is a great choice of real ales, craft beers, spirits and cocktails on offer, even a festive cup of mulled wine or cider if you really want to get into the Christmas spirit.
