The Best Golf Courses in Bishop's Waltham, Hampshire, United Kingdom (2025)

One of the best courses I’ve played on in the area. It’s really well kept and looked after. Friendly members and well run bar. The course has 2 long par 4s, but present other challenges on the shorter holes so provides a good balance. If you play in the mornings and evenings you’ll often find deer wandering the course.

This is a lovely place to play golf. Pro shop and clubhouse very welcoming and the catering good, plentiful and reasonably priced. The fairways are well covered and generous and the greens are very good, some borrows and slopes quite subtle, others not so subtle. Not overly long, the fairways are quite generous but there is plenty of woodland to assist in losing the ball. Most greens are well bunkered but the sand is good and consistent. We really enjoyed it. Dull day but that didn't detract.

Was fortunate enough to play here in February this year but the course was undergoing some maintenance. Came back and the changes that they’ve made to the bunkers and the 10th hole have been superb. Probably one of the most underrated courses I’ve ever played, it’s simply heaven. It might not be the longest course, but if you are slightly off the fairway and into the Heather, you will pay the price.

Probably the best heathland golf course! Only Sunningdale or possibly The Red at the Berkshire comes close. Such an amazing setting for a golf course. Not one weak hole. Condition is always superb. Clubhouse is fantastic. If you are lucky enough to play it you wont be disappointed.

One of the great course in the area. Had a great day here via golf pair. Course condition is spectacular, greens are on the fast side. I really like how the course is laid out. Heather and pine trees are everywhere, so not much room for error.

First game - orange course. Fairways in excellent condition - drier than expected. Only 11 and side of 18 were damp and soggy. Greens and tees in very good order. Good to be able to play from the fairways on all of the par4 and 5 holes.

The best course I have played in the area infact best course in the South. The welcome from the staff makes you feel special as soon as you step through the door. The clubhouse has to be seen to be fully appreciated. Its like Chelsea chic comes to Wiltshire. The course is in superb condition and the work being put into it is clearly paying off. Would 100% recommend.

Good course. Tough to see greens and pins if you are new to the course but a good challenge. Greens were very good and overall well up kept. Staff at pro shop were amazing and very friendly bar staff

Brilliant Golf Course in superb condition, quite tight fairways, well looked after. Lovely greens with just the right amount of deception (depending on your point of view) Lovely clubhouse, friendly helpful staff and really nice food. Well recommended.🏌️‍♂️⛳☀️👍

When our original booking let us down this morning for our Grandmothers funeral wake today the great staff at Wellow Golf Club could not have been more inviting and accommodating at such short notice The food was good, plentiful and hot Thank you so much 🙏

Played 9 holes here with a friend a few weeks ago, absolutely loved the reception we were given, and the course. So much so that today I joined as a member.

Had a good experience on a work course here. Great selection of foods, staff kept an eye out for us wanting more hot drinks and were very receptive to any requests we had. Special shout out to the chef!

Friends reunited, A thoroughly enjoyable day at this years Am Am charity event. This lot got 4 pars on the 1st 😮but couldn’t challenge for the prizes.(Team score 93)Loved the barbecue, band & dancing into the early hours🕺. Book us in for next years event …

Amazing. We had our wedding reception here and I'm so pleased we did. From start to finish Ellie and the team helped in every way possible. They went above and beyond to makesure our day was perfect. You also have a beautiful view for perfect photos. The food was amazing we had the buffet and then the grand BBQ. Would highly recommend

30 Jun 22, Fantastic course, definitely be playing again there, easy to book, friendly and helpful staff, Was abit of wait on some holes due to 4 ball players taking so long but that's golf! A few challenging holes, greens in great condition. The fairways not so good some holes fairways dry & sun scorched. ⛳🏌‍♂️⛳🏌‍♂️⛳🏌‍♂️⛳🏌‍♂️

Very friendly helpful staff, and a great golf course to match

A group of us (21) descended upon Rowlands Castle gc on the last day of our tour. We were all pleasantly surprised by the welcome we received from all staff and members alike. The course is an absolute gem, well maintained, and cherished by the members. How lucky they are to play this course on a regular basis. I/we will go back for more.

First time here, impressive golf course. Plenty of room if you want to open your shoulders, maybe as the summer arrives and the trees get into proper leaf and bloom it'll be a bit more restricted but for now great. Very deceptive for judgment of distance which is great ( but obviously annoying😁) and the greens were great as well. Definitely worth more visits. Well impressed with the halfway house catering. Lovely clubhouse and pro shop. Loved it.

A really lovely golf club. The Manor course is challenging but very rewarding, and the scenery is delightful. Food was very good. The Forest course sounds really interesting, too. A very friendly club.

A really interesting course through the new forest with great greens and fairways. Manor Course. Pro shop is well equipped with a good selection of mens and womens attire. Really friendly staff who welcomed us. We will happily return ☺️

Driving range good and price for balls good. The course is ok, it could do with better drainage and some TLC around the greens but a good test of golf. The cafe, clean, hot food, nice atmosphere and your made to feel welcome.

5th April 2025 We ae a society which plays prior to our trip aboard, Chilworth was chosen as it was local, and the booking process was very easy, the information flow and details issued were perfect and left no stone un turned, All was arranged in January with an update sent out two weeks before, where payment was made, On the day, arrival was quick /easy and welcoming, we made our way the Charlies restaurant/Bar where we were greeted with tea/Coffee, and a full English breakfast, Tee time was 11.06 which was tee off on time, Golf course was in good condition although due to the unusual dry spring and lot faster and bouncy than usual, A great round was had by all and the rust of winter shook off, followed by the customary drinks in Charlies A great day where the hospitality was excellent, the food and drinking really good and the course was in the best condition it could be in, we will return again as it was a very easy process start to finish, Thanks to Mark and the team at Chilworth,

Great little golf course, par 69 with some very challenging holes. Tee boxes and fairways in great condition, the course was let down by the greens not being at the same standard. Would still visit again though.
