The Best Golf Courses in Bishop's Waltham, Hampshire, United Kingdom (2025)

First time playing this course, and it was a pleasure very picturesque and the condition was great never played it before the changes so cannot compare the clubhouse is very nice food was great and the staff were excellent a bucket list course indeed

Superb course, played it Jan 19th in 4 degree weather. Played of the whites and it’s a serious test of golf. Some very challenging long par fours but some very gettable par 5s. Great par 3s except perhaps 17 which does let the rest of them down slightly. Course was in great condition given rain and frost, can only imagine in peak times it would be utterly amazing. Would love to come back

Played in July as a visitor and quite simply Liphook is a top quality golf club in every department. You would be hard pressed to name many better courses which can be accessed by a ‘regular’ golfer. By that I mean without having to be invited by a member or having to pay way over the odds to play. So, while not the cheapest to play (booked via county card), pound for pound this has to be easily one of the best courses I have ever played. The condition of the course was impeccable and even playing late afternoon the greens ran fast and true. On top of that the members were welcoming, no doubt proud of their club; the clubhouse well managed with good food and the pro shop staff ( in particular Miles and Harry) friendly. Can’t wait to return!

I haven’t played all of them obviously, but I would say that this is one of the best courses I’ve experienced in England. Stunning greens and fairways like carpets, the course is well maintained by a team who know what good looks like and are passionate about golf. A real treat.

I played this golf course today in a match against hankley common 28/5/23 and I have to say it is an unbelievable golf course! It’s the nicest and best course I have ever played. Very picturesque. The greens are like lighting , very true and roll beautifully. The fairways are gorgeous. The club house is also good.. nice food and good beer on tap. I can’t recommend this golf course enough , you will not be disappointed.

First and foremost, Hindhead is a must play golf course. It's different in a brilliant way. The front nine is rather unique and quite frankly exceptional to experience and play. I've played nothing quite like it in the UK, in fact anywhere. It left be breathless in more ways than one at times :). The back nine isn't quite as dramatic, but once again, it's an excellent nine holes of golf. From the pro shop to the bar staff, the whole off course experience is a friendly and welcoming one. The Aliss Bar is a lovely touch and brought back some wonderful memories. The photos won't do the course justice, so if you're in the area, please go and experience it all for yourself. You will not be disappointed - an exceptional course with the staff to match.

Simply stunning! I've played a few in the top 100 and this is my favourite ever golf course. Front 9 in the valleys is just incredible, back 9 finishes off a glorious 18. Greens super quick with false fronts giving a very Augusta feel. Staff and members were all friendly and welcoming, can't recomend this place highly enough, in my opinion it should be in the top 10 in England!

Underrated in my opinion. Greens last summer were incridible, so fast and rolled so well. The Front 9 is set in 2 parallele valleys, Ive never seen anything like it, very unique. The back 9 while not in the valleys is just as good and is quite typical of other heathlands in the area. Preferred Hindhead to Woking, West Hill and Worplesdon. Members were very friendly and the scampi wrap for lunch was delicious!

Wonderful golf course in exceptional condition. Played on a sunny Sunday afternoon and felt like only ones on the course! Very friendly welcome from staff and we were well looked after. Thanks very much!

Great game of golf here. Really enjoyed the course and the hospitality. If you get the chance come and play here. Some undulations and hidden traps but worth that for the variety and challenges of the course.

Best course I've played at in Dorset. The condition was excellent. The clubhouse is relaxed with great views. Some really memorable and challenging holes, but fair test of golf.

The best golf course that I have played in a long time, every thing about the place was 1st class. Very warm welcome on arrival which continue all day staff excellent. The courses was thoughtless . I didn't play all that well but was a pleasure to have played it and looking forward to returning and hopefully playing better.

Probably the best heathland golf course! Only Sunningdale or possibly The Red at the Berkshire comes close. Such an amazing setting for a golf course. Not one weak hole. Condition is always superb. Clubhouse is fantastic. If you are lucky enough to play it you wont be disappointed.

One of the great course in the area. Had a great day here via golf pair. Course condition is spectacular, greens are on the fast side. I really like how the course is laid out. Heather and pine trees are everywhere, so not much room for error.

Really top quality golf course and facilities. Had an amazing day here, while the weather hasn't been the best the course was still pristine. Service was friendly in the bar and the food was lovely. Everything you would want from a top course. Can't wait to return sometime.

Some great holes As with other courses where cattle roams, it is very wide open, the fairways are undefined and the greens a touch slow with the odd hoof mark. If that isn’t a deal breaker, this is a very enjoyable golf course. Clubhouse facilities more than adequate.

Great little course and you rarely play from a flat lie which will improve your game. Several par fours that are reachable in one for the bigger hitters but enough tricky holes to keep it interesting. No lush fairways as it’s a Forest course, but ‘pick and place’ all year round. I’d give the course a 7/10, but the clubhouse and the members a good 9/10. The affordability of a round and the wildlife make it well worth a visit.

Amazing golf course. I went in about 16 of the 18 holes bunkers though 🤣 Greens were amazing and lightning fast. Staff were super friendly. Definitely would play again and highly recommended!

Visited here at the weekend, wow! Stunning course which is relatively hidden! I've never played on greens so fast and running so true. The course is very well looked after making it a challenge for all handicaps and types of players. The staff and members are all friendly too making you feel welcome. Would love to play here again and will try the course again in the autumn hopefully. Thanks for having me.

Just played in the Mixed Open, course was in superb condition, greens very receptive. Catering is also great, staff polite and professional, Lauren organised a great day. 👍 if I lived in Southampton I'd be a member.

My Son treated me to a round at Stoneham for Father's day and I wasn't disappointed at all. It has to be one of the best courses I have ever played. Great variety of holes and some great birdie chances to be had on some of the shorter par 4's and 5's. The greens ran true and were in mint condition as was the rest of the course. The 18th was awesome with so much danger if you miss hit your ball and a brilliant final hole to end your round. Easily 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ from us and hopefully be back again this year for another game.

Superb Golf Course, great morning and lucky to tee off at 7.00am. A quality course that will test your accuracy and club selection, everything in/around the course is perfect, tees, greens, bunkers and tight lies on the fairways. Friendly welcome and a Superb clubhouse to finish the day

Mark, the Pro was amazing! Golf isn’t an easy game, but to have the skills and ability to make it simple for me to understand, is outstanding. Mark, has been able to make the complicated simple and golf really enjoyable. Super friendly team combined with an outstanding golf course, make this a top 10 golf venue to visit. The course is in immaculate condition, while others get stuck in the mud. I felt like It was a lush spring day. I will be back, as looking forward to see the investment in the course lands.

Great golf course in lovely costal scenery. The clubhouse looks amazing and provides a super selection of food and drink. Hayling is a challenging links course and well worth travelling to play.

This is a proper links and a tough track. We were lucky enough to play it on a calm day and you still needed your driving game to be in good shape to make the fairways. Some great holes and no bad ones - unsure why Hayling doesn't rate higher in all those Top 50's etc. For my money it's the best links between Rye and Saunton in the South of England. Add to that a lovely clubhouse with great balcony views and friendly welcome with none of the stuffiness of some of the better known courses. Well worth a day trip from London and good value for money for the quality of golf and conditioning of the course.

Old style former farmers field type of course but with a few improvements over the years. 3 sets of 9 holes gives variety but gets very wet in winter

Played 9 holes here with a friend a few weeks ago, absolutely loved the reception we were given, and the course. So much so that today I joined as a member.

First class course in both condition and presentation. Helpful bar staff as we played late afternoon. Lots of attention to detail, would certainly return.

Course was immaculate, greens were true and quick. A real pleasure to play on. The gluten free food was outstanding. Would highly recommend.

Great course, tough but fair, strategically placed bunkers so you have to plot your way round, large greens, so wear your putting boots .
