We have just held our mum’s 90th Birthday celebration at Bearwood Lakes and it was absolutely perfect in every way! Yes, it’s a beautiful location, the function rooms are extremely attractive and comfortable and the food is excellent, but what really makes the difference at Bearwood is their wonderfully helpful and friendly staff. The service and attention we received on the day was simply superb! Our contact throughout, from initial enquiry, planning the event and then overseeing the day itself was with Events Manager, Mandy Hurst, who could not have done any more to make sure our day was a great success. Nothing was too much trouble and we (and particularly the birthday girl) were made to feel so welcome that Mandy genuinely felt more like a friend who was part of our day than a member of staff! Thank you Mandy, to you and all the team for making it such a memorable day for our mum. You were simply fantastic and I hope Bearwood Lakes fully appreciates what a priceless asset you are!

Lovely tough course. In good condition, see photos. Lunch and dinner menus were very good. We found it expensive and renting a rake for the bunkers was a bit of a joke. Glad we played it, ticked off the list.

This is a great course for beginners, seniors, juniors or anyone with mobility issues that still want to be able to play the game. It’s also a good place to practice through the winter months when other courses become too muddy to play. I’m a single figure handicap and usually carry just 4 or 5 clubs and make the most of the course, leave the driver at home 3/4 iron is plenty here. Theres not much scope to improve or lengthen the course other than to put another few holes in another field. I’d love to see that, would be a good candidate for the 12 hole golf course, although unlikely.

Cannot praise this course high enough played on the last two days (November 2024) the fairways were good & the greens were excellent, the course is well set up & well maintained, some lovely features with Centenary Walk & the 1921 Club House. Excellent. The clubhouse was welcoming & Mark the pro was very helpful.

The club is in a beautiful location with far reaching views and was a perfect venue for a celebration of our mother's life. The airy function room easily accommodated our 40 or so guests, the buffet was varied and plentiful and the bar well stocked. All staff were very professional , efficient and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Loved the course. Great condition. Wide fairways, excellent greens, stunning views despite a heavily overcast and damp day. Clubhouse welcoming. I would love to be a member if I lived out that way. You will not be disappointed. There were no photos as the weather was unfortunately very poor today.

A good course with some long holes, especially when the wind blows and a few picturesque holes. The greens were tricky with a variety of subtle and not so subtle breaks. It was very dry given the amount of rain there had been prior to the round. I'd like to play it again in the Summer.

The course is excellent having played it at least six times it is always in great condition. The fairways, bunkers and greens are very good. The staff are by far the best of all of the golf clubs that I have played. The bar manager is great, and the food preparation and choice of food never ceases to amaze me. Everything about the club is exceptional well done to all that have contributed to the club’s performance. Well Done👍👍Chris

A hidden gem. Fantastic course , superb greens and friendly and welcoming staff .

This is a very attractive rolling parkland course in great condition. I've played here many times over the years and always enjoyed it. It's a good venue for societies as they are very welcoming, and the fairways are a generous width. This year, 2024, the greens, although well kept, were a lot slower than expected, but that may be due to the number of wet days recently. There are lots of bunkers around the greens but they are exceptionally well-maintained - very impressive, but fortunately no fairway bunkers that I can recall. Good clubhouse.

Took family up to see the fireworks this year 2023. They had hot and cold beverages. Live band which were pretty good. Got the crowd going. They also had hot and cold food outside or in vans on the field. Fireworks were great! £10 entry fee for what you got I think it was worth the price. Had an amazing time. I didn't get many pictures as I was too busy enjoying myself.

Poked my nose in yesterday to check the course and clubhouse out and was greeted by a member of staff... She was very polite and sociable.. Only saw a part of the course but what I saw was excellent, especially for early February... I'll be returning to Andover in a couple of weeks and can't wait to play this course..

Played here yesterday after three our four days intense heat. Despite 30 degree temperatures, the fairways were the best I've seen here. Greens were surprisingly slower to putt on than expected, and were holding up despite high temperatures. Friendly staff on board....overall experience was very positive!

Brilliant Golf Course in superb condition, quite tight fairways, well looked after. Lovely greens with just the right amount of deception (depending on your point of view) Lovely clubhouse, friendly helpful staff and really nice food. Well recommended.🏌️‍♂️⛳☀️👍

We had a 60th birthday party at Hamptworth and we had ordered a finger buffet. The quality and choice of the buffet was excellent and more than enough for everyone. Each of our guests were very impressed with the quality and cleanliness of the venue, as well as the food, drinks and the efficiency of Zoe and her team. Zoe was also a great help with organising the play list which for us technophobes was a huge plus. We returned with some of our guests for breakfast the following day, unfortunately the weather was grim so they couldn't see the beautiful view of the course from the clubhouse very well. Despite this a couple of them expressed a desire to return and play the course. A huge thank you to Andy and all his team for making the occasion so special.

The best course I have played in the area infact best course in the South. The welcome from the staff makes you feel special as soon as you step through the door. The clubhouse has to be seen to be fully appreciated. Its like Chelsea chic comes to Wiltshire. The course is in superb condition and the work being put into it is clearly paying off. Would 100% recommend.

First game - orange course. Fairways in excellent condition - drier than expected. Only 11 and side of 18 were damp and soggy. Greens and tees in very good order. Good to be able to play from the fairways on all of the par4 and 5 holes.

A lovely Sunday dinner, excellent quality ingredients, very tasty, and all for a reasonable price. Definitely worth a visit! We also went another day and just had a cup of tea, they also do coffee and a delicious selection of cakes to choose from. Oh, and Rays ice-cream is spot on too, and I can recommend the chocolate and salted caramel variety.

Had my first experience in the restaurant tonight. Firstly, The service was absolutely impeccable. Staff were extremely attentive and so friendly. Food was amazing, lovely atmosphere and tastefully decorated restaurant. Will definitely return. Thank you for a lovely evening 😊

Hosted our charity’s golf day here. The club couldn’t be more helpful with the day and setting up. The players all 92 of them enjoyed the well looked after 18 holes. The carvery was well enjoyed and plentiful. We have already booked next year.

Very nice golf course, long with well defended greens. Good clubhouse with excellent catering, helpful, well stocked pro shop. Has recovered well from the recent dry spell, much better than some others.

Good course, well presented and a strong test of your golfing skills. Well drained too so a good course for a winter jaunt.

Very friendly club, great 27 holes of golf, 18 on the Cathedral course and 9 on the Bibury course. One of the best, if not the best course in the area, would recommend over the high post for those wanting more variety in the holes.

Went for brunch here on daughters birthday in the restaurant/ cafe area. Had a great time! Weather was nice and sunny so we sat outside. Food was good and served promptly with no fuss. Would definitely go back again.

We got married at Skylark on Sunday 26th May - We cannot explain how amazing everything was! We haven't stopped talking about our special day and how Skylark did everything so perfectly! We had so many lovely compliments on the food, the team and the whole running of the day. Someone even said it was the prettiest wedding venue they had ever been to, which we couldn't agree with more! We wanted to say a huge thank you to you and the team at Skylark for making everything so special for us. From the moment we booked, the wedding and events team were incredibly professional and supportive, answering every one of my many many questions. Shortly after we booked our wedding, it was announced that Skylark was being put into administration, this was understandably concerning but the team were there to support us at every stage of the planning process and made us feel 100% more relaxed! A special shout out to Amy who made the initial stages for wedding planning so exciting and effortless! She went off to have a baby which is equally as exciting but we felt sad that we'd lost her. Thankfully we were assigned to Elly (Events Manager) and we instantly knew we were in safe hands. Elly ensured our day ran perfectly and truly was the day we'd dreamt of. During the evening, Jason took over and was amazing. Regularly checking in with both of us to ensure we were okay and making any necessary changes. We cannot explain how thankful we are for everyone at Skylark.

Ellie and the events team were excellent at helping us with our big day. We felt that we were in safe hands from our first time at Skylark through to our big day. The catering and bar team were accommodating and friendly both on our tasting day and throughout the wedding, not to forget that the food and drinks were amazing. We were so happy with how smoothly everything ran and how helpful everyone was - thank you!

I have played here over the years and recently twice. The staff are all polite, friendly and helpful. I rely on them to pass on my compliments to the kitchen crew for excellent meals, and the greens staff for a well maintained course. Not the cheapest but certainly best value for money on a society day out.

Nice course and not outrageously expensive. Greens are pretty consistent although some of the fairways are a bit lumpy and can give some random bounces. That's my excuse anyway.

This course is easily one of the best in Hampshire its playable all year round due to it having great drainage and being based on chalk. The greens are in prefect condition all year round, much needed development is happening and its making the course stunning to look at aswell as to play. The club is very welcoming and has a very mixed age group with great attention payed to younger players to get them into golf. I also got married at the club and every part of the day was so well organised and put together. Test valley really is a great club.

I recently ran a Mental Health and Small Business - One Day Conference at Test Valley Golf Club and can't truly express how impressed I was with everything from the venue, to the catering, to the level of service. From the moment I enquired, Maria and Molly made me feel welcome and wanted to ensure they could accommodate as much as was feasible to create an event just as I had envisioned. The preparation and support provided was second to none. On the day, the food was excellent, the room was perfectly arranged and no dietary requirements or additional requests were too much trouble. They were so attentive and I can not wait to book our next event with them.
