I had a fantastic 2 nights stay here at the end of Feb. It's a really lovely place with fantastic staff and comfy rooms with power showers and lots of high quality amenities. Breakfast was incredibly good value and super tasty. Outside of breakfast, the menu is excellent, both lunch and dinner, plus the cake from behind the bar was delicious! Cracking value and ideally located for beautiful walks around the area.

What a lovely Inn. Great traditional atmosphere with old beams along the ceiling. Friendly and helpful staff with a good selection of ales/beers and wines. The food is also very good and set at a reasonable price. I couldn't ask for anything more.

Just returned from a 2 night stay and have to say it what a delightful place this is. After a long journey it was lovely to be welcomed with a welcome smile and cheery hello. We stayed in Room 10 on the ground floor and couldn’t be happier with the size and cleanliness and such a good nights sleep on the comfy bed. Breakfast was plentiful and a good choice including Eggs Benedict or Scrambled Egg with Smoked Salmon along with a great Full English Breakfast. We ate in the bar in the evening and can highly recommend the great pies. Parking is just over the road and the pub is located perfectly for exploring Castleton and Mam Tor. Thank you making our mini break a great one.

Great food and local beer. Had a hunters chicken, nice big portions. Was so good came back for breakfast the next day. The highlight was a proper sausage and very well priced (£10.50 breakfast including tea or coffee)
