I’ve been a member here since January the course and staff are class. The condition of the course is quality and don’t let the 10 holes put you off from coming. Club house offers great food and refreshments

Great local golf course. Played for first time after hearing great reviews. Great condition bet its gorgeous in Summer can't wait to play here again. Very friendly around clubhouse staff and owners very welcoming. Practice area Great. Even played decent which is a bonus !

;Barry, it’s really really helpful excellent at finding you the right swing if you have lessons. The course is definitely not a stand-up and whack course, you do have to plot yourself around which I think improves your game. Awesome breakfast as well.

It’s a great course but be warned it’s tough!! You have to be straight off the tee, if not the trees will prevent you making any head way towards the green. It’s playable all year round with excellent drainage. It maybe tough but it’s fun and will really challenge your game. Course management is key.

Fantastic course and facilities, excellent in the winter, driving range is really good with the new Trackman, I’ve also been having lessons with Barry who has changed my game massively, Making me enjoy playing golf a lot more than I was. You cannot got wrong at Bondhay! It’s excellent.

Very good setup. The food and the staff were top standard. The course is one of those that you have to think about where you hit your drive. Lots of trees and big bunkers and a few ponds. Well worth a visit.

The efforts of the new Course Manager appointed in August 2022 are now easily visible as the dire weather early this year fades to a memory. Well worth reacquaintance if you haven't visited for a while. Now in February 2025 the latest bunker renewal is complete. Warmth and bedding in of the new turf can't come quick enough for this golfer.

Just attended a birthday celebration. Pleasant room with a bar (card only payment) and view of course. The buffet was excellent. Friendly and helpful staff.

Absolutely brilliant. Celebrated our Golden Wedding Anniversary and Abbeydale Golf Club provided us with a wonderful, tasty hot buffet. Bar staff were brilliant. They all did an amazing job to make our evening celebrations go extremely well. Thank you to all concerned.

Absolutely beautiful Course. Stunning view from the clubhouse. Very friendly and welcoming members. Made us feel at home. Knowledgeable Pro. Only downside to me is the size of the stones in the bunkers. They are quiet big some of them. Thank god you are allowed to move them now. Overall well worth the time. Lovely day out

Visited the newly opened restaurant and was surprised with what a transformation from what it was before. It was much more atmospheric than before with a more welcoming vibe. Service was fast and attentive and food was excellent especially the wood fired pizza. All in all and excellent evening and will definitely be going back 10 out of 10

Fantastic. Came for the opening of the new farmhouse kitchen and it was fabulous. The food was delicious, prompt and hot. The staff were friendly, welcoming and professional. This is going to be one hard spot to beat. Thanks for everything, Olli

Our first time in the new restaurant and I have to say it didn’t disappoint. What a change, the design is a huge improvement from before, they’ve created a welcoming and contemporary restaurant which is matched with a varied and interesting menu. And so lovely to look out over the stunning golf course. The food was good, so was the service. Looking forward to our next visit, would definitely recommend!

Billed as a very welcoming course, and guess what? It really is! Enjoyable autumnal round, members very welcoming, super lunch in the bar, recommend.

We play a lot of open competitions a year and two of the Lad's had never played Chevin before so I booked us into an open. The day from start to finish was second to none.We were made to feel extremely welcome by all the staff from the club house to the well stocked Pro shop then a starter that was a credit to the club. We had a top notch breakfast then a round on one of the very best courses we have played this year. Fairways were just like walking on carpet complemented by true greens that posed some issues to work out the line in short a top course. I would very strongly recommend this class golf club.

Excellent course. Not the longest in the world, but technical with sloped fairways. The technically gifted will have a significant reward. Nice clubhouse with friendly staff.

The champagne breakfast was 10 out of 10. The food was superb, the staff friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. There was plenty to choose from on the menu, something for everyone, and if you had any dietary requirements, those were catered for too. The atmosphere of the Dovecote was relaxed and unrushed. Thank you for a lovely and enjoyable meal.

A fantastic 18 hole golf course, lovely scenery and Deer watching as you play which is fantastic. It's just a shame that they don't reduce the green fees over the winter months like most courses as it gets very boggy.

Beautiful place. My sister viewed here for a potential wedding venue. The grounds are beautiful, the staff are friendly and the coffee is the best tasting coffee I’ve ever tasted. Just wow. I will be back to eat.

The best greens I’ve played on in sometime Course is kept to a very high standard with lots of great touches Super friendly pro with well stocked shop Super layout and challenging course, friendly staff and members, would highly recommend and definitely return.

Excellent course to play and well kept - lightening fast greens. All staff very welcoming and provide an excellent menu along side traditional clubhouse features. Looking forward to my return one day!

Cracking golf course. Really nice layout with holes to test people of all abilities. The greens are super quick, and the pins are in challenging positions. I would definitely recommend a visit here! Nice bar and restaurant serving a good selection of tasty food and premium beers.

Good value driving range, £4 for 50 golf balls is great value. A good quality driving Matt with decent golf balls. Nice practice green and chipping area. The course is good nine holes for the money.

Course is challenging enough for golfers of all abilities (9 hole - Par 35), and is well maintained. Support facilities are a little basic, but the course as a whole offers a cost-effective option to nomadic golfers, like me. I will definitely return!

Been to the range a few times and went around the course for the first time the other day. Really pleased, course and greens in great condition, staff always helpful and friendly.

Played this course today, scenery beautiful. Lovely picturesque back drop but the course is not for beginners. The par 3’s are long, the par 4’s are long and the fair ways are packed with their own challenges. On top of this the greens are elevated with run offs too. Not a single flat hole, either steep uphill or steep downhill. Its a great challenge if you fancy yourself as a player, just not begginer friendly. The staff were nice and friendly, the place itself will no doubt be a good course to return to when i improve. But i play off 25 and today was tough. Thanks for having us Matlock Golf Club

Excellent Experience at Matlock Golf Course I recently had the pleasure of playing at Matlock Golf Course, and it was a fantastic experience. The course is in great condition, deceptively looking easy but offering plenty of challenges for all skill levels. Every hole had its unique set of obstacles, keeping the round exciting and engaging. The facilities were top-notch, and the food was excellent, making it a well-rounded day out. A special mention to the professional, Christian Goodman, who was incredibly helpful and offered some valuable tips that improved our round. I highly recommend this course to any golfer!

Played early morning earlier this week. The pro and greens staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. They were all so proud to showcase their course and for good reason! The front 9 was out of this world with unbelievable holes in every day, cannot wait to come back!

Another great golf course that I have been to up North. Superb condition around all of the course and not just the greens. Will need to use good course management around it as some of the holes have a camber on the fairways so its quite fun and some of the greens can be quite exciting too. The food in the club house is really really good especially washed down with the beer on tap and the staff are very nice. Will be going down again in the next week and I can't wait!! ________________________________ Update: I have fallen in love with this club. Have played all over the UK but feel so great coming here. Brilliant course that is made perfect by the atmosphere of the staff and members alike. Have had great interaction leading to purchases of a new driver and hybrid. Didn't try to sell me just anything but gave me various options of clubs to try and see what suits me. Look forward to purchasing my irons soon and having some more of the great food and drink to quench my thirst after an enjoyable session on this picturesque golf course. _________________________________ EDIT: 14/10/2022 This is my go to golf course now. They are currently in the process of changing the first two or three holes by adding features to them. This will make it more interesting for the more advanced golfers by adding bunkers for the longer hitters as they will come into play on the first hole. The second hole par 3 will incorporate larger bunkers around the green so accuracy will be key. By doing these changes, this course is coming on leaps and bounds and I love every moment being here. You will not be disappointed and the staff are absolutely great to deal with. It's my second home now so to all of you that are thinking about playing this course , do it. You won't be disappointed. Just be patient as you might not be be able to play the first two holes at the moment but I feel this is going to be worth the wait.

Good first impression, excellent tee boxes, didn't see any rubbish around the course a well looked after course.

Visited the Golf Club as a friend is a member and we were booked in for the charity quiz. A great time was had by everyone, the food was definitely up to scratch and the Jaipur went down a treat, can’t comment on the course though!

Superb golf course and setting. Well worth a visit if you get chance, although a little brown just at the moment, the tees, greens and surrounds are well watered so still very playable.

Always a pleasure to play such a wonderful track...always in fantastic condition...the seniors competition we play in is run superbly and not only one of the friendliest clubs around but also a treat to catch up with friends
