Had a fabulous evening here on a recommendation and it did not disappoint. The warmth and welcome of the place was fantastic and despite not having booked, we were made very welcome (a party of 19 was about to turn up at any minute as well) The staff were engaging, knowledgeable and polite. Owners Ed and Giselle were charming and our waitress, Emma from Manchester was great fun.) The food ā small Tapas plates, was amazing. The Pig Cheeks with Prunes and Sherry, Chicken Skewers with Micro Herbs and Yoghurt, Cod Cheeks in Tomato Sauce and the Canaries Style potatoes with Mojo-Rojo Sauce ā were delicious. The Burnt Cheesecake with Cinnamon Apples to finish was divine ā you must try to pay them a visit.

Undertook a Paella Cooking Course - what a fantastic day! The instructional process is relaxed, informative and fun, one of the best cookery courses I have experienced. Ed and Giselle are both passionate and enthusiastic about Spanish cooking, which comes across in abundance during the course. Highly recommended. will definitely book another Spanish cooking experience as well as booking a table for dinner.

I would have missed this place completely, as itās in between the two main shopping streets in town, and boy would I have been missing a treat. With its delicious (very authentic) tapas and fabulous cocktails, this cosy little restaurant is well worth a visit. Charming staff too. The Prawns pil-pil were the highlight for meā¦I felt like I was back in Spainā¦but my wife enjoyed the croquetas moreā¦but everything was good. This will be top of my list for next time weāre in Lyme Regisā¦and I will probably try to sync up my visit with one of their cooking classes - Iāve always felt scared to try making paella but I would bet that fear will evaporate after a class here.

Not going to lie, the food was kinda ruined by a sodding seagull. We bought three chorizo pasties and some cake to takeaway, and whilst I was attempting to give a bit to my daughter some VERY confident seagull swooped in took the WHOLE THING š¤Æ Quickly learned a very important lesson about Lyme Regis, and thatās eat your food with caution š Oh, we also bought some lemon olive oil and some smoked sea salt. Sure, itās more expensive than youād pay in a supermarket, but so it should be. We like coming away and support random places that we find, and the whole āMill Laneā area is quite nice and picturesque. The type of place I could imagine spending a nice afternoon with my wife. Alas, we had three young kids so we didnāt really fancy sitting in a small restaurant š honestly, theyāre too chaotic for that. But yeah, if youāre in the area and fancy giving somewhere nice a visit, then give Strawberry Tree a crack šš» just be AWARE OF SEAGULLS.

I canāt thank Simon enough for the kindness and care he has shown with my grown-up sonās repair work. He has not only made his teeth look lovely, he has built his confidence and helped him care for himself. I highly recommend him to anyone who is nervous, fearful or who has let their teeth go. Heās just brilliant.

I had a dental emergency so called Simon Wood at Lumley and Wood to arrange an appointment. I was expecting a wait as the surgery had only just re opened but I was delighted to get an appointment within an hour or two of the call. The surgery was running a very efficient system with questions relating to COVID-19 both before and on arrival. My temperature was checked and hand sanitizer was provided. The surgery entrance was only opened for booked patients. I felt very safe in the surgery environment as the staff were wearing PPE with my dentist using a visor and a mask in addition to the usual measures. Extra equipment had been installed to extract the circulating air after every patient and cleaning of surfaces and longer gaps between patients were organised. An excellent service, as always, in what felt like a very safe environment.

I had an emergency appointment followed by a filling a week later My whole experience was very well managed from the first call booking in right through to the final appointment- all handled with the professionalism and kindness I have come to appreciate in the 28+ years of being with Lumley and Wood They are handling the current health situation brilliantly If you have any concerns about attending during this time wipe them away as everything is handled correctly with no risks whatsoever. Keep up the good work everyone.

I had an accident a while back losing a couple of my front teeth. I went to Simon after being recommended by a friend. The treatment Iāve had from saving damaged teeth to recently fitting me with my amazing new replacements has been exemplary. Simon and his team are just brilliant and wanted the best outcome for me from the start, all the options were explained throughly allowing me to make an informed decision. A good experience at South Coast Dental with Josh. Had a tooth implant here and was extremely nervous, from start to finish everything was explained fully, and support was given at every step by Josh, Tawny and team. Very professional and welcoming practice. Would highly recommend if you are considering a dental implant.

Josh kindly fitted an implant nearly two years ago which I am very pleased with, I recently had an issue with the gum surrounding the implant. Josh and Tawf were able to quickly address the issue for which I am very grateful, the review was very thorough and I learned some useful tips on how to use interdental brushes.

I am a very nervous patient following treatment received as a child in the 1960s. However, the treatment I received from Fernando for my dental implants was second to none. He is an excellent practitioner and has the ability to create an air of calm which would put any nervous patient at ease. My implants fit perfectly and I wouldnāt hesitate to recommend him and the staff at South Coast Dental. How I wish it had been the same for me as a child. Thank you to everyone at the practice.

I had 3 implants successfully inserted by Fernando a couple of years ago, without any pain. Recently I needed a deep cleansing treatment for gum disease over one tooth and again, I did not experience pain. Although I have private general dentistry, this is the only dental surgeon who has given injections without pain due to the use of a superior numbing agent beforehand. All the staff are very pleasant also. I can highly recommend this Centre.

Our family dentist for a couple of years, however I attended for an emergency appointment and was given a choice to remove or have root canal treatment. I was hoping to save the tooth and had a temporary filling carried out. So far 5 stars!

Iām not one who tends to write reviews but after my first check up today I felt like I wanted to. This is for other people out there who have had their NHS practice closed and now canāt get a NHS dentist and are reluctant to go private. I understand how you feel, I work part time and am at college and finances are tough enough. Yet I found myself admitting defeat and looking for a dentist, I like to have yearly check ups and was getting anxious it had been too long (Iām on the NHS waiting listing for a wisdom tooth removal and wanted to check that I was fine waiting). A College friend told me how she had an emergency appointment here and how great they were. She had ended up joining them and told me they were taking on new private patients. My parents and I have now joined and have all been happy with the process. I particular like, how above you there is a computer screen, you can see the dental nurse inputting data as itās called out. So yes, the check up is a quick process but you can see all the info being inputted and that youāre getting a full check up. He also checked my gums for bleeding. This is only my first check up but for now, Iām comfortable that my dental health is in good hands and that any work recommended, is in my best interest and not for them to make a quick buck. So for now in this NHS dental desert, I am happy to be on their books.

This dental practice is absolutely fantastic they really look after their patients, itās very clean, well presented and maintained. Itās staff are tremendous, friendly, helpful, caring and very polite, my dentist Dr Govender is a smashing dentist he goes out of his way to make sure that the treatment both I and my mother receives is as pain and stress free and relaxed as possible. I would definitely recommend this dentist practice to family, friends, neighbours and anyone requiring a dentist. Please note this is a private dentist and NOT an NHS dentist.

Ended up having to go private as a non registered emergency patient, after failed A&E visit and a 3 hour phone call to 111 with no answer. Iām so glad I chose this practice. All the staff were so kind and considerate, from the initial phone call, to the receptionist, nurses and the dentist himself. Very thorough, explained everything and considerate throughout. Have my second appointment through already to deal with the problem. Will highly recommend to all looking for a dentist!

Everyone at Stamford House is kind, friendly and knowledgeable which instills confidence in me as a patient. Dr Govender is very caring. He always explains in detail any problem I have, makes sure I understand and describes the different courses of action and treatment available. A truly professional experience from start to finish. Communication by email and text message re upcoming appointments is excellent. Also changing appointments is very easy and hassle free. Upon entering the practice you are greeted in a warm and friendly manner, which continues throughout your visit. I am very pleased with Dr. Govender's work . He is very thorough and has done a lot more checks on me than any other dentist I have had in the past. A true professional. Although not a nervous patient myself, if you are worried by dentists then I recommend this practice. Dr. Govender will calmly explain everything before it happens and put you at ease. Upscale menu in an unpretentious basement "cave." Small plate (and I mean small!) offerings of exquisitely executed dishes that present a culinary experience for the palate. I wish there were 30% more on every dish we sampled (wouldn't really describe it as "ate," given the amount). But... they were all quite well done. You just need to order a lot of dishes. We had the Flatbread w Pickled Ewe's Cheese, Fig & Roasted (yumm) Pumpkin Seeds, Beetroot Carparccio (outstanding take), Soused Mackerel, Dartmoor Lamb (tender), Polenta w Girolles (mushroon), Ricotta & Cheddar, Fennel Truffles (not to miss for a chocolate lover) & Apricot & Thyme Sorbet (the only small miss: would have preferred a gentler herb like mint).

Came here for dinner for my partners birthday from London. Fantastic little restaurant in a great location. Beautiful, simple decor and super friendly staff. Lovely seasonal menu with a great selection of vegetarian, fish and meat fishes from the area. The 'soused mackerel' was my favourite and the frangipane desert were exquisite. The wine was local and divine. Great experience and a great meal.

Exceptional food, locally sourced and foraged. The chef often came out to serve the dishes and was more than happy to talk about the ingredients, where he had foraged some of them and how the dish was made. Every plate was well conceived, light and tasty, even the bigger dishes such as the ox cheek or venison. Wine suggestions were excellent and every wine we tried was surprising and delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful, the venue small and welcoming. This rates as one of the best food experiences I've had. Get there now while it's still small and relatively undiscovered because it deserves to get better known and booked up months in advance.

We didn't book, and the restaurant was full, but the server offered us the bar table or outside dining, and as it as a sunny warm evening we landed on the outdoor dining. This is a rare find. Not only was the outdoor dining stylish and intimate, it offered wonderful service, and a 10/10 experience. The dinner was wonderful, from small bites all the way to the main the meal was wonderful. The menu is seasonal and delicious, this was a menu that didn't offer comfortable favourites, but diverse delicious plates that we talked about all the way home. They even made us a tailor made cocktail which was spicy and lovely. We had 3 servings. We are thrilled we got in, and would recommend it to anyone who is a food lover.
