Been here many times over the years. Absolutely love it. Their Christmas decorations are brilliant. They have books for my kids to read. Clean, friendly, lovely. Honest food by honest people. I really enjoy their homemade pasta sauces and Italian antipasto salad Very affordable for a family of four.

Fantastic local family run coffee shop. The staff are brilliantly friendly and attentive. Service and speed was great. I had the beef Ragu with pasta. It was home made and only cost £6.50. I'd have happily paid double for the quality of food. The sandwiches and baguettes looked equally as good. Highly recommended. I'll be coming back.

This is one of the originals. Fantastic family run friendly cafe , still keeping prices affordable for everyone. There is a lovely nostalgic feel to this place and all the staff are so friendly. Food was spot on , just what we needed. A decent sandwich and milky coffee , none of this 'hackney vibe' type place. Really enjoyed our family visit here for a spot of lunch. Next time I'll be getting some authentic Italian dishes. Thankyou.

I absolutely love this place, we were met by the adorable Italian lady owner, she was very professional and attentive. The place is located on a corner at the west end of the High Street. The place has a very generous menu with lots of choices(vegan, vegetarian, milk intolerant, gluten free). I strongly recommend their baked potatoes!!! There is off street parking areas around the area (pay and display or pay with the RingGo app). Famy friendly and dog friendly. The place is all in one level and step free. Very affordable prices.

Lovely cup of coffee, nice friendly staff in a great location . Prices are really reasonable, big windows to people watch out of. Has a mice old school feel to it, non corporate chain. Support these places or we will lose them.

Delicious food and the owners are so lovely and sweet. The steak is very good. And the herring starter also. Very good prices compared to other Deal restaurants. Highly recommend.

Came here with family on Christmas Eve and had the three course set menu. The food is really exceptional and everything is prepared onsite. Front of house are incredibly attentive and you have enough time between courses to relax. A really good selection of wines are available.

I had breakfast at the Lane for the first time today after my partner had been with some friends for lunch and loved it, i was so excited and the breakfast definitely did not disappoint. I went with a friend to the Grinch Afternoon tea. I've been to several of the afternoon teas.. not reviewed till now. I've made a point of doing it today as it was once again a 'can't stop smiling' experience. The staff are so welcoming and helpful. The menu is lovely and so creative. It's the attention to detail that I always love so much. Even down to things like the 'ice' shard and the little tart with the lane grinch logo on. Each afternoon tea is obviously well planned out and any dietary adjustments are made so they still fit the theme. You get so much for your money and I love that you can box up and take home the rest. The drinks are also never ending, very generous and you are never rushed even when you can tell they are getting ready for another sitting. (Happened on another occasion- a friend and I had chatted for so long we were the only ones left. The staff were still really friendly and chatty, answering random questions I had.) There is beautiful decorations everywhere which are hand painted and details galore. A really nice touch was a candy cane on the grinch plate and there is always a puzzle on every table. To the team, keep doing what you're doing, you're bringing a lot of joy, cleshay yes but true, its very much appreciated. To anyone else, pick a theme you like and get booked in.

The Coach
Sandwich Rd, Deal CT14 0AT, UK | Pub P: 01304 617063
Rating: 4.6 (581) Price Level:
The service here was really good, we were greeted nicely and the staff were all very kind. I do think the roast dinner was overpriced for what we received. The chicken was dry and is on the bone (this isn't stated on the menu) and the roast sirloin is only two thin slices. The potatoes are not crispy and slightly hard. The vegetables were cooked nicely, gravy was nice, and the desserts also looked lovely. I would return but wouldn't order the roast dinner again.
Rating: 5 / 5
Wow! This place was just fantastic. I drive past The Coach daily and have never ventured in. Last night, I went with my husband and some friends. The atmosphere was lovely and cosy. They have both restaurant and drinking areas for when you just want to have a drink. The menu was excellent, and there were lots of gluten-free options available. The food was presented well and was delicious. The staff were very friendly and very attentive. They had a good range of beers, spirits, and wines and were happy to put everything on a tab to pay at the end of the evening. We had 3 courses plus drinks and per person, averaged at £45 a head, so not too pricey either. Definitely somewhere I will be returning to. Just one point to remember, they are a cashless venue and only accept card transactions, which these days shouldn't be a problem.

Visited today for Sunday roast. The food was plentiful and piping hot. Great selection of vegetables to accompany the pork and beef. Cooked to perfection. Amazing banana cheesecake. Great service as always from the front of house team. Well worth a visit.

The Crown Inn at Finglesham
The St, Finglesham, Deal CT14 0NA, UK | Pub P: 01304 612555
Rating: 4.6 (506) Price Level:
My family and I had a fabulous three course meal at The Crown Inn this evening. The food was fresh, well seasoned, well presented and arrived promptly, with no long wait between courses. The owner made a real fuss of my 6 year old, joking and chatting away with him during the evening and making sure his specific requests (no foods touching!) were catered for, even giving him a Snickers bar as a treat with the bill! I had the soup of the day, the chestnut loaf and mince pie brownie and these were all delicious. Vegetarian food can often be an afterthought at pubs and restaurants, but everything I had was up there with some of the best vegetarian food I’ve had in the local area. There was a good selection of alcohol free beer too, which was great. In the summer, there’s a lovely garden area with a kids’ playground and bouncy castle which our kids love. The perfect family pub with delicious food. I’d recommend The Crown Inn to anyone!

A lovely meal and will definitely be returning. We were served by Eloise who was training, she was very good and brilliantly coached by her manager who took time and care with her. Oh and roast potatoes the best we’ve had and we eat out quite regularly so that’s a massive compliment. A lovely experience all round. Kris and shal table 17 😃

Probably the best steak I've ever had! - highly recommended - cooked perfectly too. Exceptional food - one of the best meals we've had for a long time Great service too, staff are attentive and super helpful- this place is a gem and if you're near here make sure to try it.

I recently enjoyed an exceptional pub lunch that ticked every box for a wonderful dining experience. From the moment we walked in, we felt warmly welcomed by the staff, who were incredibly polite and genuinely attentive throughout our visit. The service was flawless, perfectly paced so that we never felt rushed, allowing us to fully relax and enjoy our time there. The ambiance was superb, blending rustic charm with a cozy, inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The setting was well-thought-out, with comfortable seating and tasteful decor that added to the whole experience. It’s clear that a lot of care has gone into creating a space where guests can unwind and enjoy a meal in good company. The food was just as wonderful as the service—delicious and beautifully presented. Every aspect of our visit reflected an attention to detail that made it feel like a special occasion. If you’re looking for a pub with excellent food, outstanding service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, this is definitely the place to go. Highly recommended!

The street frontage immediately attracted me. I enjoyed a very tasty and excellent value vege stack here with an equally excellent coffee. The service was very welcoming and friendly. I found a gem of a cafe in Deal.

Excellent. Looked up "best bacon sandwich" and this place came up. It did not disappoint..... had a bacon bap and it was loaded with bacon on a soft lightly toasted bap. Wife had sausage and onion bap and was equally impressed. The dog loved his tit bits handed under the table. Coffee was beautiful too. Thank you.
Rating: 5 / 5
Delightful little cafe with an incredibly attentive owner who's more than happy to make recommendations or alterations if required. The mango and stilton sausage roll was excellent (it's a more subtle flavour than it sounds like) and the toasties are very generously filled. A great find.

i booked high tea for my for my mums 50th and we were made to feel so special by the staff at hog + bean. they were v welcoming and attentive. we had chosen this place as they were able to offer gluten free options. the food was magnificent and there was a huge amount to go around we couldn’t quite believe it ! we had enough to take home and enjoy for some time after! thank you for making my mums 50th birthday so special , we would without doubt recommend hog + bean to others. thank you so much :))

Charming, unpretentious café/restaurant in centre of Deal. Lovely coffee, spotlessly clean premises and my friend really enjoyed her Torte della Nonna (lattice tart with ricotta cheese and dried fruits) with an extra of tiramisu ice cream. Two tables outside if you can brave the sun!

This is a small, friendly, traditional, family run Italian eaterie that I have just discovered after moving to the area. Well priced, good, freshly cooked food and in a convenient location in the centre of Deal. I will be back.

Kings Head
Port Arms, 9 Beach St, Deal CT14 7AH, UK | Pub P: 01304 368194
Rating: 4.5 (1352) Price Level:
Been here many times. Great open square that overlooks the sea. It is shared with another pub/restaurant which gives two choices of menu. The kitchen works very hard to get good food out as fast as they can. Today was very busy and they still served us within 40 mins - the staff told me before they took the order, so no dramas! Had a long beer watching the world go by whilst waiting. Also gazed at all the other food choices as each table was served - they all look great. Ours was the standard seaside fare of fish and chips. Fat and juicy fish, triple cooked chunky chips and loads of oetis pois; and the King's Head burger - a great portion fries, good quality bap and very large burger (other half struggled 🤣). Good service by the team. We will return.

There is nothing about this bar/hotel that doesn’t warrant five stars. The food, the location, the service and the atmosphere was all on point. Can’t wait to visit again. Special shout out to Aaron and Izzy, those two don’t stop!

We discovered this little gem in Deal to celebrate our anniversary. The outside of the pub is beautiful with colourful flowers and it’s really inviting. We were greeted by a lovely young guy who helped us to check in and even offered to take our bags for us as we would be staying in room 7 at the top of the hotel. We had a lovely spacious room with en suite. It has a spectacular view of the pier. I’ve only given it a 4 (please bear in mind we loved our room these are just tips to make the room a 5). One of the lamps in our room wasn’t working, which we reported to one of the staff at the bar, but what would be so helpful would be a couple of USB sockets in the room. We forgot our chargers so weren’t able to charge our phones (obviously our fault entirely) but maybe something to think about for future guests. The breakfast was lovely, fresh and hot. All of the staff were amazing, it’s been a long time since I’ve been to somewhere where everyone was simply kind, friendly and helpful, they are a credit to you. Thank you for making our stay a really enjoyable one. We’ll definitely be back and we’ll definitely recommend you to anyone who asks.

Lovely pub, very busy, good ale. Visited twice, whilst on a break. Major busy as football was being shown. Had an amazing Sunday roast, one of the best I've ever had. Roast beef, as everything else was sold out, but that's to be expected as it was gone five. You can't tip by card as the don't accept tips by card, only cash. Staff were bright, fun and engaging. Rating: 4.6 (345) Price Level:
Had a wonderful mid week break here, owners made us feel so welcome from the beginning, the staff were attentive and couldn't do enough for you (big shout out to Katherine) especially when asked for an off list cocktail and hand picked mint herself from the garden! The room was gorgeous spotlessly clean with added personal touches you just can't get in chain hotels. The village was beautiful and the locals very friendly, location was perfect nice and quiet but 10 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Deal seafront would highly recommend and will absolutely visit again fantastic value for money too. Thank you.

What a lovely place! Visiting from up north for a family event. The staff could not have been more welcoming after our 5 hour journey. The room was fantastic. Finished off well. Comfy bed and plenty of space. Even the church bells were not a problem (thanks for the warning at check in!). Breakfast can make or break a hotel stay, but the breakfast and service was as fantastic as everything else. What a gem!! We will be back soon for sure.

Stayed here for one night last week (2 adults and 1 child). Very friendly staff. The room was ready for us on arrival, it was clean, spacious and bright and very calming looking over the church across the road. Food was delicious, we had dinner and breakfast here, free parking outside. A really straight forward & pleasant stay, nothing was to much trouble. Also the neighbours cat who likes to pop in was very cute!

We visited the Blue Pigeons in worth for lunch and were very impressed with the total upgrade of the building. We did not visit the rooms but the restaurant and bar were very cosy, and noted a very substantial garden for summer time drinks at the garden bar. We will be returning again to this venue for maybe an overnight stay with dinner.
